Great place to stay. We were a short drive from Prairie Creek State Park, and we spent lots of time hiking in the redwoods. If you want to be close to the redwoods, this is the place to stay.
Unique and fun stay in a barn— our kids loved the lofts. Nice, homey decorations. Walkable to many great hikes. Easy drive to redwoods and other destinations. We would definitely stay here again.
This is literally on one of the trailheads leading you to a Lady Bird Johnson memorial. Being from Austin, Tx it was nice to make this connection. It’s a quaint little older farmhouse with hot water and electricity and the comforts of home. I would recommend staying here to friends. Host was quite accommodating when we had to make a last minute change to our booking. This area is close to many beautiful roads and trails into the majestic Redwood National Forest Thank you.
This place was just okay. It was mostly clean (I’d say 7 out of 10), but there were easily areas that could have been better (like the bathroom mirror and the floors). The beds were pretty hard. It was convenient to Prairie State Park which has several things to do, but it wasn’t our favorite stay.
Property was just as described. It was a nice stay in the middle of our road trip; homier and more spacious than motel rooms and nice to have our own areas. We brought our two children (9 and 6) and enjoyed the roaming elk (giving them plenty of space though many of the roadside tourists did not…). Convenient location is an understatement. We could easily get to whatever trails we needed with a short walk or a five minute drive.
We were very fortunate that when we arrived 20 to 30 Elk were in the side and backyards of the house. It was a beautiful location close to hiking trails and other areas of interest. The interior of the house was very clean and comfortable. The only drawback to the place was bird droppings off the balcony off the main bedroom and on the roof areas near the door into the house. Although my wife and I went out on the balcony, we were having to try and step around the droppings. We know that we were tracking it back into the house. Outside of that, the place was a 10.
We loved this place! The herd of elk greeted us when we arrived and passed through each morning we were there. The proximity to the park was superb, with trails available from the house as well. We appreciated being able to spend our days in the park while allowing us to have the comforts of home for the night.
My whole family enjoyed this property. So easy to hop on 101 and head to the beach, or State Park, or the market, or to see the Elk!!! Loved the fireplace, and kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinners.
Absolutely amazing and as advertised - and incredibly close to two of the best hikes, Trillium Falls and Fern Canyon. The perfect home base for our week in the Redwoods. Thank you!
You can’t beat this location if you are here to hike! The place was well stocked and clean. Open floor plan so I would recommend to be very comfortable with the people you travel with. We will definitely be staying here again next year.
We were walking distance and short drives to the Redwoods, and minutes from the beach. There are some supplies not far away, and small airport less than an hour. We loved the space, cozy and beautiful, and perfect for our needs. We are so thankful!
Quite comfortable and spacious, well appointed, and in the midst of some awe inspiring scenery and naturalist locations to explore. We would have loved to stay longer.
