The sea and sun, our two favorite things, come together in this hospitable vacation property in Destin. Sea the Sun is an astounding 3-story, 7-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom vacation rental located in the Dunes of Destin that can comfortably accommodate up to 20 guests. Each floor of this welcoming property provides living and entertainment space for guests, making it an ideal location for reunions of any kind.

The first floor features two guest bedrooms, each with king-size beds and a shared full hall bath. This floor also includes a bonus den and kitchenette. Doors lead to the pool and patio with grill, complete with seating that creates a perfect environment to relax with a drink or to host a poolside cookout.

The second floor boasts the main open living area, which includes comfortable seating, a wall-mounted TV, and double glass doors leading to a breezy balcony. The open kitchen and adjoining dining room are ideal for intimate gatherings or larger parties. A spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed and private luxury bath completes this level.

Ascend the stairs to the third floor to find the remaining four guest bedrooms. One king-size bedroom is paired with a bunk room that has balcony access, connected by a full luxurious bath. The other king-size bedroom is paired with a queen suite, connected by an additional full luxurious bath.

Besides comfortable living quarters, this home is located in a prestigious gated community, and also provides access to a private and community pool, and direct access to the Emerald Coast beaches. This vacation rental is also situated near Destin’s Harborwalk Village, which boasts a plethora of dining, drinking, and shopping options, as well as festival fun for any season!

First Floor: King Bedroom with Patio Access, Hall Bath with Tub/Shower Combo, King Bedroom, Wet Bar, Bonus Room with Two Queen Futons and Patio Access.

Second Floor: Living Room with Balcony Access, Kitchen, Dining, King Master Bedroom with Walk-In Shower and Soaking Tub, Powder Room, Laundry.

Third Floor: King Bedroom with Balcony Access, Jack and Jill Bath with Walk-In Shower and Soaking Tub, Queen Bedroom, King Bedroom, Jack and Jill Bath with Tub/Shower Combo, Bunk Room with Two Full/Twin Bunks with Twin Trundles and Balcony Access.

*Personal beach chairs, umbrellas, tents, tarps, shading screens, clip on umbrellas, flags, etc. are not allowed. Exceptions: Medical exceptions and infant shades no higher than 36”.

Perfect Spring Break with kids

Destin Beach House

This is our groups 4th year in this house. We love it for location, space, and the pool. It is a 1-2 minute walk to the beach. There are pool and beach toys available for guest use. The kids, age 5-13, really loved the ping pong table, the board games and puzzles on our rainy day. I recommend the short walk to the lake bridge to see the turtles. It is tradition to feed our leftover lettuce to them on our last day!

Beautiful Property

This is such a beautiful home with lots of space. My large family was very comfortable. The private access to the beach was a short walk around the corner and it was perfect! The pool area was great. I think we spent most of our time there. The location was amazing. Everything was right in the area. It was such a luxurious experience and I can’t wait to do it again. I would definitely book this house again. Communication with Ocean Reef was A+. Thanks for the amazing vacation accommodations.

Great house but not well maintained

The layout and location of this house was wonderful! We loved the spacious bedrooms and living areas, and the location was perfect - easy walking distance to the private beachfront and close to our favorite restaurants. We also loved the two ice makers - that was a great feature! The large sectional and dining table were perfect for our family to hang out all together. However, the home was not well maintained. There were stains on the carpet and dents/marks on the walls. It was apparent that a large dog has spent time on the first level; there was a large chewed dog bone in the armoire and dog slobber flung on the first floor walls. There was quite a bit of hair on the walls of the downstairs shower when we arrived, it looked like the cleaning crew had missed. And the back yard pool had quite a bit of green algae growth, and lots of weeds in the back porch area. Overall, we had a great time but we’re diasappointed that the house had not been better maintained. It has potential to be a five star property with just some new paint/carpet and a solid cleaning!

Some things went very wrong!

We thought VRBO was the manager of the property, but I found out much later after booking it that it was an Ocean Reef property. VRBO stated on the sight that cancellations could be made but Ocean Reef does not allow cancellations. That would have been good to know up front. We loved the house. It's large enough to accommodate about 20 people. The location is great also, just a few minutes to the beach and shops. The condition of the house was not good. The house had been painted not long before we arrived, and the place was actually not ready for guests. There were no window treatments. Nothing at the windows until the following day when temporary paper shades were put up. This fix did not allow for looking out. They could not be raised. The covers for the electrical outlets were left off in some rooms including the room where the 4-year-old child stayed! The TVs were not set up on the first floor. And the house was dirty. We had to constantly call maintenance to make repairs, etc. The was not welcoming and this took a lot away for our enjoyment.

Yearly Beach Trip

When faced with our original property booked we found Sea the Sun in the same neighborhood. We stayed in this house in 2014 so we were familiar with it. The house was clean to the eye but the shower upstairs had pink slimy scum as will as mildew around the bottom. Also one of the doors was coming off the hinge. The door was immediately taken care of but the cleanliness of the house was unimpressive. The carpets were dirty as well as the walls and the tile floors left your feet filthy if you walked around barefoot. The pool was a nice addition to the backyard but the weeds around it and the moldy cushions on the lawn furniture were less than appealing. Hopefully the original house we rented will be ready next year. With a little TLC Sea the Sun would be a great place for a crowd to enjoy.
