Impressed with the cottage, having my own parking area, and gated off the main property, we felt we had our own space. Quiet, and with an outdoor fireplace. We cooked some salmon we caught for a late night before bed.

Interesting cottage. If the Ritz is your style, go somewhere else. If you want a funky eclectic place- you’ve found it.
Gary and Teresa were waiting at the gate with smiles and a great Alaska welcome. The cabin was filled with nick knacks that gave it a real homie feeling. I had access to the garden which gave me fresh lettuce everyday. Oh by the way I hope your guys tomatoes got ripe. I would come back again, and would recommend it to family and friends.
Communication was just right. Location was excellent. We were only eleven minutes from our early morning fishing destination. Near enough to Soldotna, yet far enough away to feel like we were in the wilderness. Everything we needed was there: pans, cups, water bottles. Excellent hosts. Would stay again.

The cabin was clean and cute. Although the tv did not work. The beds were comfortable but we woke up nauseous, with headaches would recommend a CO2 detector.
Property owner was extremely accommodating. We were delayed due to road closures, and she was very flexible in adjusting our stay. She took the time to update us on the road closures. The accommodations were very comfortable, with several personal touches., there were also multiple convenient amenities. Stairs leading to the loft were steep, so may not be for the faint of heart. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

Thank you for the wonderful review! We were very happy to be able to help with your visit. We try to help our guests any way we can. I wouldn't want to be stranded thousands of miles away from home with no one to help me figure out what to do. You're welcome back anytime and hope you will visit us again.
Superb location. 10-20 minutes from fishing and shopping. Saw moose every day. Quiet and relaxing cabin. Well furnished. Lovely Alaskan decor. Very friendly hosts. Very enjoyable experience.

About the host
Your host
Gary was born and raised in Anchorage. He works as a partisan at The Bedt shop in Soldotna. He has been a parts man for over 40 years in Anchorage, the North Slope, and Soldotna. Teresa is originally from Colorado and moved to North Pole, Alaska in 1988. We love the peninsula, and being a vacation rental host. We have another rental home on the other side of us, and like to provide a relaxing, enjoyable experience for our guests. We are raising our grandson, and have two rescue puppies who just turned a year old, as well as a munchkin kitty. We enjoy sports, mostly watching, going dip netting and riding snow machines.
Why they chose this property
This home is on the same lot as our home. It was originally built to be a place for those in need to stay. When we bought the property, this home had a renter. He later moved at which time we used it for a guest house. After our experience with our other vacation rental, we decided to open this one as well.
What makes this property unique
Our entire acre is fenced, to keep the dogs in, and the moose out. There is a private gated driveway into the rental. The property is surrounded by trees and can't be seen from the street, so it's quiet and private. We get regular visits from moose and a small group of caribou. Eagles fly over daily. It's five miles to Soldotna, 15 miles to Kenai, 70 miles to Homer and about 90 to Seward. It's a great home base for resting up after great fishing and other adventures.
