Nicely modernized older apartment for two in convenient neighborhood, within walking distance of all theaters. Intelligently furnished with nice array of supplies and basics by accommodating host. Pleasant front porch and back deck for sitting on nice days and evenings with glass of wine. Also very convenient to downtown for treks to the many outstanding restaurants.
Great location for those who like to walk to theatre, dinner and shopping. The small deck off the back is a great sit with a glass of wine or cup of something to watch the birds and squirrels in the yard. Kitchen is well stocked. Bed is comfy and living area works well for those who like to tuck up with a good book. We certainly enjoyed the morning pastries and homemade jams left for us. A very thoughtful and appreciated touch.
Beautiful historic home with modern conveniences. The amenities are first rate. Easy walking distance to the theaters, restaurants etc. Orlando's Hideaway is a gem. I'll definitely come back.
The house was spacious, spotlessly clean, the kitchen was very well-equipped and the beds were comfortable. We loved the location and we could walk to the theaters and restaurants very easily. Kevin was an extremely helpful and considerate host.
Overall this was a great find and we will definitely be back next year!
We loved having our own pristine, light-filled, perfectly appointed little house in Stratford. The quiet residential neighborhood was just a block from the restaurants, shops and coffee shop on Ontario Street, and midway between the two theaters we walked to most often -- plus just a block from the 2-mile walking/running loop around the lake. Ideal!

About the host
Hosted by Kevin Gormley and Kim Foster
We both share a passion for good wholesome food. Kevin has worked previously for 15 years at some of the U.K.'s and Irelands finest 'Relais & Chateaux' Country Inns and Hotels in their restaurants before moving to Stratford from Ireland in 1993. Kim is a native of Stratford and has traveled extensively on a private yacht catering to crew and invited guests. Both of us now enjoy life together in the great community of Stratford with our son among family and friends. Together we hope to nourish your body and soul.
Why they chose this property
We love this home, have known the previous owner and as such it's been a home from home for us. Our son in the '00's spent many days as a toddler roaming this house and gardens, and we are happy to have been able to renovate this home with a view to keeping its 'feel' being one that you constantly want to return to. We know you'll love it (and the neighbourhood) as much as we do. Shorter term stay available from oldrectorystratford
What makes this property unique
Close to Stratford's parkland-about 1 minute walk. Close to the downtown-about a two minute walk. 3 minutes walking to the newly built beautiful Tom Patterson Theatre, 6 minutes to the Avon/Studio, 12 to The Festival Theatre. South facing front porch and garden at the rear-make yourselves at home. Onsite parking. The river walk around Stratford's picturesque lake take about 20 minutes, start point is 2 minutes away. Newly renovated and well appointed kitchen, bathroom, a/c, whilst preserving the older aspects of the 1887 home. We always stock the fridge for you with the basics and our fresh baking plus a few other treats for your arrival from our nearby B&B, The Old Rectory-a fixture in Stratford for over 25 years. It's quiet, did you hear us-it's quiet here. We are never far away should you need assistance or advice, we are happy to make your stay in Stratford a memorable one.
