This review is a serious mischaracterization of the events that occurred and omits key facts that myself, my neighbors, and local law enforcement witnessed. While we do permit nine guests to rent this home, it was booked for two guests. Yet on the very first night, I was awoken by multiple neighbors who witnessed and reported a loud and out of control party. I could hear the noise from a block away. When I arrived just moments later at approximately 1:00am, I found dozens of teenagers on the lawn, the front porch and inside the home as the front door was wide open. As I asked multiple times to speak with the guest who had rented the home, the crowd scattered through people's yards and down the streets. The guest's son admitted to inviting two girls, however this was not a matter of "simply two friends coming to swim." Perhaps he was overwhelmed by what became an out of control party, but the question remains why did he not alert his parents or call the authorities himself. Both parents claimed they were asleep mere feet away from where all the chaos was happening. That explanation strains credibility, especially given how loud the scene was. Our rental policies are crystal clear that parties are strictly prohibited, and if police are called due to a party or a violation of our noise ordinance, you will be asked to vacate the property immediately and no refunds will be given. These rules are agreed to on the booking platform, they are also included in our welcome binder and also posted inside the home. They are in place for the safety of our property, our neighbors, and the community. We have successfully hosted thousands of respectful families over the past 10 years, as evident by our numerous 5 star reviews, and have never had to take this type of action or anything remotely close to it. But we will not compromise on the safety or integrity of our homes and community. For the record, we love hosting families with teenagers-especially respectful ones who follow the rules. This situation was entirely avoidable, and we stand by our decision to enforce our clearly stated policies. We are confident that if you look at our reviews for this property, and others we manage, you will see the totality of positive experiences our guests have enjoyed.
