Rocky Points Sandy Beach is a stretch of sand popular with weekend vacationers, largely from Arizona. Wide open and great for early morning walks exploring for sand dollars, the beach heats up with fun activities during the day like jet ski rentals, or exciting banana boat rides. Stay were the fun is at the Sonoran Sun Resort.

Head out and explore some of what brings visitors again and again. Off road vehicle rentals take full advantage of the adventure waiting in the dunes just beyond the Resort. Head into town and explore the fun Malecon. This oceanside boardwalk is busy with vendor shops, seafood spots over the water, along with fun bars. Stroll among the crowds to hear live street musicians as the sun goes down.

The Sonoran Sun Resort is grand, with two Towers spanning the beach in a way that allows all units to have an exceptional ocean view. Two spacious swimming pools span the beachfront, with palapas lining the sand, giving lots of shade. You will also find a children's slide, jacuzzis, chaise lounges lining the pool , and shade umbrellas. The central swim up bar is really fun!

On site you will enjoy Emiliano's Restaurant and Sports Bar, a well appointed gym, convenience store, and day Spa. There are also BBQ grills, tennis and pickle ball court, along with secure parking and 24/7 security.

Nice But...

This was our first trip trip to Rocky Point, and overall we enjoyed our stay at Sonoran Sun and in Rocky Point despite some initial issues with the room. First of all the air conditioning was not workiing. We reported this to Casago the property management on-site and they were responsive in calling someone to fix it and ultimately put us up in another suite for the night and compensated us (after a bit of negotiating) for the disruption to our first night. They also had to replace the shower heads in both bathrooms because of water stream low flow due to corrosion. additionally housekeeping failed to properly document maintenance issues or supply the room with things like paper towels and batteries for the phone and remotes, though the checklist was completed. The room was spacious enough for 2 adult couples, the ocean views were beautiful, we enjoyed the pool and ocean swimming, Sandy Beach was great for long walks. We will be back, but will likely rent a different suite.

Had a fantastic stay!

Very spacious accommodation and an incredible view. I give a 5 for everything. The only downside was that they were working on one of the pools and it was really noisy. One warning I will give is not to take a cab without first asking how much it'll be. The lady charged us $20 to get from Sonoran Spa to Sonoran Sun and we walked it in 15 min. on the way there. Gotta say though that the whole resort is quite amazing and the onsite restaurant was good too. The grill at Sonoran Spa was unexpectedly terrific and only a beach walk away.
