Fantastic property and host!

Cousin reunion!

Charming little house and towns surrounding. Pool and Jacuzzi were great we had a relaxing time. Lynne was a great host snacks when we arrived and walked us thru the property to ensure we knew how to use everything. Told us about the surrounding area palces to eat and visit.

Fantastic Amazing Wonderful!

This is THE place to stay for any activity and especially for Equestrian Events. Lynn was great and helped us with local places to eat and check out between events. There is a fantastic dog park within minutes of the home. Its was very calm, quiet, and relaxing. The pool, hot tub, and Grill were very welcoming after a day out!! Looking forward to another trip !!!

Comfortable and convenient

The house has a dated eclectic feel to it; and it grew on us (in a very favorable way) over the course of our one month stay. The hosts were fantastic with excellent communication and wonderful welcoming gestures. Well equipped and supplied. Look forward to staying here again.

Great place, would rent again

Interesting house, well decorated, nice country feel. Jacuzzi worked well and we had fun playing pool. Owner was very pleasant to deal with. There are a couple of places to eat within walking distance which was nice. Big backyard and no loud neighbors. There is another building kind of close to the jacuzzi area. I found staying there very relaxing. I want to go back already!

Great vacation home

This was our second time staying in this rental home. We definitely will be booking again in yhe future. Lynne is an excellent host. The house was very beautiful and clean. Its well stocked with everything you need. Kitchen was stocked with snacks and coffee(gevalia) my favorite. The pool is absolutely wonderful and very large. We spent most of our time there. Hot tub also was very clean and relaxing.. We enjoyed our stay!!

Great second stay!

This was our second time at this property. We really like small town atmosphere, the convenience of the park, grocery store and restaurants. Get the garlic knots from Brick! My son likes to watch the firetrucks next door. Lynn is always helpful and keeps the place clean and stocked with some staples. There were snacks upon arrival which really helped with our hungry teens. We enjoyed bringing our little 7lb chihuhua mix. She loved relaxing with us for the week! Thank you! We'll be back!

One of the Best Rentals I've Experienced!

Lynne's property is an amazing oasis! The house is very clean and you can tell she puts a lot of thought into small details that make your stay more enjoyable. She even provided snacks and juice boxes for our kids! Lynne is a wonderful host. The home is very comfortable, the front and back porch are very relaxing and the indoor pool is a blast. Our family of 4 enjoyed an entire week and had such a wonderful time. You can also walk to nearby restaurants and there are many small towns around to enjoy with lots of hiking. This is my favorite rental we've stayed at by far. We will be back!

Relaxing comfort with your own pool

My family and I had a great visit. It was all we wanted. The pool was great and my kids loved having thier own pool to swim in every day. The hot tub outside was a great place to relax in the evening. The house itself is older but very comfortable. Nice open living room for the kids to play in. Plenty of dining options in walking distance. Lynne is a fantastic host. Attentive and respectful. I’d recommended this place to anyone looking for a little get away with a private indoor pool to boot.

Great house!

We booked this house based on pool and hot tub...and it was great. Two problems: 1. We paid to heat the pool and it didn't work for almost 2 days, and owner didn't offer any money returned. 2. Owner was out of the country and son quit responding once the pool broke. House was clean and location was terrific

Pool is advertised as heated until the end of October, I informed renters the weather was quite cold during their stay in November. Unfortunately, the heater was not able to work on the last two days due to the cold weather. An expensive fix on the pool heater. Hot tub was working.....Lesson learned.

Extended family vacation

This was our second visit to Lynne’s property. We first discovered it in 2020 during Covid when we wanted a place where we didn’t have to be around other people. Lynne is a wonderful host and we love the little town of Columbus. It is a great town to walk around. There are several restaurant options. The kids did a day of zip lining. And we enjoyed the pool every day. Lynne is available but not intrusive and makes sure you have whatever you need. The house is not luxurious but has a cute cottage feel. We also rented the little one bedroom guest cottage next door so that we had an additional bedroom. It worked out well for a large family gathering.

Our dog drowned!!!!

The pool room is unsafe and lacks several safety regulations. While we were away for the day with our pets (two small dogs) securely safe inside, someone entered the home and left the sliding door to the pool open. when We returned that afternoon, we found our dog dead and floating in the pool. The pool door was wide open. House Bill 1065 outlines the regulations for an indoor pool and this house is clearly out of regulations. There is no self closing and latching door, no alarm on the door, no cover on the pool, no depth markers, no flotation devices. The pool rules are listed but if that door were self closing with an alarm, my dog would still be alive. It would be a great place without the pool as an attractive nuisance.

After owning and renting this home for over 18 years, I have had never had one incident regarding the pool. There is a large safety regulation sign listing all pool rules. Specifically, no dogs on pool deck, in pool or pool area. All sliding glass doors have locks, so it is impossible for someone to come in from outside the house unless they have a key to the front door of house.. The door from living room to pool has a bar which locks the door from the inside and out. There are floaties located in cabinet in pool area. There is no alarm on pool, in fact I've never heard of an alarm in a pool. An alarm wouldn't have saved their dog from jumping or falling into pool. These guests accidently locked their dog in the pool area, and left for an outing. Upon returning they found their dog in the pool and immediately, in a most verbally violent way accused my son and I first, then just myself of entering the house and killing their dog. Totally absurd! No one enters one our 5 rental properties without permission from the occupying guests. Nor was there any need to go into the home. They received money, I didn't need to refund.. It's very sad they lost their pet, but I in no way take any responsiblility. That, they need to do themselves. Beware....

Honey and Cozy

We chose to have a staycation at this beautiful house. It is a beautiful home set an a lovely small town. We were able to walk and grab lunch. I HIGHLY recommend the deli only about a block away. The house was cozy, and we thoroughly enjoyed opening presents with a warm fire burning in the gas fireplace. The pool was off limits for our stay, but we really did not mind that one bit! We enjoyed playing billiards, and the pool just added to ambiance. SUCH a COOL pool house! We plan on coming back in warmer months to take advantage of the indoor outdoor feel of the room. The hot tub was excellent for the super cold nights, the hubby and I enjoyed relaxing after long days with the kids. Completely relaxing. My muscles miss it! The kitchen was more than adequate, essential spices provided, and the cook ware needed. I LOVED the fresh flowers on the dining room table, an absolutely beautiful arrangement reflecting the holiday. There were also lovely scented hand soaps for use. The beds were super comfy, and the downstairs bedrooms were beautiful! I loved the decor, and the collection of books. I hadn’t seen my husband pick up a book in some time but he found something that him mesmerized about the romans. The owner had EXCELLENT communication, and even had the cutest little Christmas tree up for us. I can tell the owner cares about this property by all the little touches that made this place feel like home for the holidays.

Disrespectful Owner

The house was beautiful, that I will say. This is what she just sent me, Lynne sent a message 9 hours ago "Ive heard your partner was complaining to my guests next door, while saying to my face the house was so wonderful. You need to check your non credentials for renting any house on ----------- and Vrbo. Even of its paid by someoneelses credit card." First off my Wife not my partner, invited her other guest over and that woman, told her about how, the owner would show up at anytime. The owner destroyed, her pets toys and yelled at her for leaving the pets toys outside. My wife told the other guest how Lynne made our granddaughter uncomfortable and how she made my wife stay outside, while she showed me the house. Most of the light switches in the pool room didn't work. The microwave had a dish plate inside, instead of a proper plate. The front door handle did not work correctly. She texted me that she had to water her flowers and check the pool and because of that my granddaughter hid in a room until she left. She also had the nerve to send me this, Lynne sent a message 9 hours ago "Please dont review my home….that will only create problems. Your week staying was my worst nightmare…." How dare she, my wife paid for this trip for my birthday and to tell me not to leave a review or else. Who does this woman think she is? Oh I forgot to mention she has a broken ceiling fan hanging over the pool. That is a severe safety issue. I will formally file a complaint with Vrbo.

I'm sorry to hear your complaints, but you will need to contact Vrbo for allowing you to book this house. You are writing as the wife and credit card you provided. But David Cannady is name is on the booking. And he is a confirmed felon registered sex offender. I don’t know how he slipped in to book this home. There are no reviews since 2018 in your husband's name. And anyone can google more information. was worried for your entire stay. And I am so sorry your granddaughter was frightened. Although, I can't understand why on my part. The rental family next door never experienced those issues. Contrary, they said you were a big complainer. Yes, the house is historical, that is it's charm......All the plants and pool need upkeep weekly, regardless if there are guests. That is why the pool is crystal clear, jacuzzi clean and beautiful blossoming plants. You are unfortunately welcome to make any complaints., even if they are untrue... My previous five star ratings indicate my commitment to provide the best experience for our guests. .

Yes there IS a BIG indoor swimming pool!

This older house was very clean and its eclectic furniture has been thoughtfully collected by a world traveller. The pool is surprisingly large perhaps 30’ long and 12’ wide by my eye, I didn’t put a tape measure to it. Our Fall weather was unusually warm so the neither the space heat nor the pool heat were tested by cold weather. With the second full bathroom (with shower-tub combo) located in the pool area you can bet it’s heated in winter. We were in Columbus for a wedding and never ate a meal in the house but the host graciously provided a new bag of fine Gavalia ground coffee, filters and a Mr Coffee drip maker which helped us launch every day. Thank you. The portable dishwasher didn’t get a workout from us. Without directions on how to connect the hoses to the sink faucet we opted to hand wash our coffee cups. I would have appreciated brighter reading lamps for reading on the large, comfortable couch. We did not watch TV but there was a flat screen in every bedroom. The wi-fi was true broadband and my Verizon signal was 4 bars. The front porch and the back deck are very comfortable and furnished with tables chairs and a shade umbrella. The county fire house is next door but over our four day stay we never heard a siren or even a loud horn. Trust me my 6 month old granddaughter would have heard any of those noises day or night and woken up the household. That never happened and She slept quietly all night. The town of 3,800 souls is pleasant and it’s Main Street is a two block walk just past the large city park. I was surprised that the old retail stores and restaurants were occupied and seemed prosperous making it a great small town experience. The surrounding area is rural and beautiful with a world class equestrian center, mountain hiking and pretty lakes. Asheville is a short drive down a modern interstate.

Perfect getaway!

This home is beautiful. It is cozy and centrally located, making it easily accessible to the “in and out” daytime excursions we took with our grands! The pool is just over the top, and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our long weekend getaway! The house was so well appointed and Lynne made it extra special leaving snacks, fresh fruit, water and even fresh flowers! I 100% highly recommended! We will definitely be back!! Thank you Lynne!
