About this property

Immaculate and well maintained home on SSB! NEW for 2024 upgraded kitchen!

The Breakaway is a beautiful and well maintained home owned for over 23 years by the same owners. Each year it is updated and kept in immaculate condition. It is a very short walk to one of the top 20 beaches in the world according to a recent study by National Geographic.
Sunset Beach is a quiet, family beach great for families and couples. We offer four bedrooms and three bathrooms with an outdoor shower. Our screened in porch offers a view to the ocean as well as our Widow's Watch on the third floor. There is a private balcony off the upstairs master bedroom. Recently added is an outdoor renter's lockout area for your bikes, golf clubs, beach chairs etc... NEW for 2024 Quartz countertops and tile backsplash with zero radius sink and disposal.

Please note: During the summer months linens, towels, soap and shampoo is NOT included due to the fact that we rent both on VRBO and via a local rental company. In the off season months linens and towels are included with the rental.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Trash and Recyling cans go out Friday night please. They come before 7:00 AM. the next renter needs to arrive to an empty trash and recycle can. Thank you!
IF you needed to access lock out box in shower for keys please return. Code is 4401.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please make sure the renter lockout key is put back on cork board and the house key (if using) is returned to lock box in shower.
Linens are NOT included. You may rent them from Julie's Rentals or bring your own. Bed sizes are King (1), Queen (3) and 1 twin bed.
PUT CANS OUT TUESDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHTS PLEASE! . A $20 fee will be charged if cans are not empty for the next guest. They come early !! .

Great Family Vacation

We had another great stay at this property. It’s perfect for our family. Close to the beach and pier (easy walk) and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and cookware etc. Love it is convenient to the convenience store and ice cream shop, too.

This beach house was perfect for us! We loved the floor plan and how well it was stocked. Everything was clean and welcoming. What we liked most was that it was convenient to the beach and pier. Great location!

Our family loves staying at this beach house! It is the perfect set-up for us! Everyone has their own room and bathroom, the living room is a large space for everyone to hang out in and it is not too far from the beach! The host has been great and has been an easy process! Beautiful, bright and easy walk to beach

We had a wonderful stay at The Breakaway! The house was clean, the kitchen well-stocked, there were plenty of bathrooms for folks to use plus an outside shower for rinsing sand off when coming back to beach. Even though linens/towels aren’t provided it wasn’t a big deal for us. It was a few minutes walk to the beach, market and shops. Lorelei was great to work with and very responsive and our family had a wonderful time:)

Very nice

The house was very clean and updated. It is within minutes walking distance to the beach and access to the beach was very easy. The rooftop deck and screened in porch were enjoyable. AC works very well. (We went during a very hot week) Also an added benefit, this beach is the quietest beach area I have ever stayed. Very peaceful and relaxing. Overall a very nice place and would highly recommend.

We are Paul and Lorelei Milan and have owned The Breakaway for 23 years. Our now adult children learned to swim and ride bikes as children at SSB. Each year we upgrade the home as it is our home away from home. As avid golfers and travelers we try to get to Sunset Beach as much as possible. Over the past 23 years this home has become our family gathering place with multiple generations. The times we cannot be there we enjoy opening our home to fellow travelers and beach lovers. We hope your family makes lifetime memories here as we have done.
