Location: The house is 3 miles from I-26 Exit 53 in a small, quiet, friendly neighborhood. We live on a paved road with a paved driveway, so unless we receive a significant snow (which around here is 3-4+ inches) or ice you will not need a special vehicle to access the property.
We are 26 miles from the Tryon International Equestrian Center; less than a mile from one of the preferred inlets for kayaking on the Class 5 Green River (noted by National Geographic in January 2018 as a route that "requires serious paddling skills"); 6.5 miles from the Flat Rock Playhouse (State Theatre of North Carolina) and Carl Sandburg's National Historic Site; 20 miles from DuPont State Forest, home to three waterfalls: High Falls, Triple Falls and Bridal Veil Falls and the filming site for scenes from The Last of the Mohicans and The Hunger Games. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest and Jump Off Rock are just a few of the attractions within a short distance. Asheville is 30 miles away and Greenville is 39 miles away.
The House: This tri-level home has three bedrooms and two and half bathrooms. The master bedroom, with its own bathroom, has a king-sized bed. The middle bedroom has two twin-sized bunk beds. The guest room has a full-sized bed. There is a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the main floor living room and a tri-fold cushion that can become another single mattress. The living room is spacious with a large, gas rock fireplace. The lowest level of the house has a TV room, professional massage room, work desk with large, double monitors and printer, and the laundry room. We use a keyless entry system, so you don't have to be bothered with keys. A few hours before you arrive, we will send you a welcome message with access code information.

The house was clean, host was responsive & accommodating. Good set-up for families - put the kids to bed upstairs, adults can hang out on the lower level. Also my kids loved the fish tank.
Erin was a delightful and responsive host. Her home was exactly as described. There was lots of space and while we did not cook on this trip there was a spacious and well stocked kitchen. It was easy to reach and was on a quiet street where you could relax and rest. We enjoyed our trip and would recommended this home to others looking to enjoy Flat Rock and the surrounding area.

Thank you! We are thrilled that you enjoyed our little corner of the world. We look forward to hopefully hosting you again in the future; you are ideal guests!
Erin was such a great host. The home is lovely, well decorated, squeaky clean and peaceful. A quick getaway for us and this was perfect. Close to Hendersonville - a waterfall a few blocks away - not far from Asheville in a lovely quiet neighborhood. If you go in the fall - plenty of apple picking orchards! Added bonus - my wife and I got an awesome massage at house (added cost). Would stay again and recommend to anyone!

It was a fabulous interaction to rent to you. Thank you for coming and please come again! I look forward to hopefully coming to your VRBO someday! Blessings!
We wanted a house to stay in while we explored the nearby hiking trails and state parks. This house was perfect. Our boys are older teens and the WiFi was great. The kitchen is nice and the table easily seats six. The deck is a good place to relax in the sun. The den has a great media area where we watched the NCAA championship. Neighbors were all friendly. And, we didn’t even have to drive for a couple short hikes. Overall, we had a great trip.

We are so glad your family enjoyed your visit! We are partial to our little corner of the world and we are glad you like it too! Come again! Henderson County has so many treasures (and waterfalls) to explore. Happy trails!
Homeowners, Erin, husband Shane and their two daughters were wonderful. Any questions were quickly answered. The house was very comfortable and in a beautiful area. Approximately, 1 acre with mature trees. Parking for multiple cars. Well stocked kitchen & pantry. Two, large screen TVs; one in living room and one downstairs. We love the Flat Rock and Hendersonville area. The summer weather was great; a huge relief from our South Florida home.

Thanks for being the best renters we could ask for! We look forward to your future visits! Brave that Florida heat! NC will be here for you whenever you need a respite!
My family had a wonderful stay at Erin's home. Everything was clean, comfortable, and convenient. The location was great - close to Flat Rock and lots of wonderful nature. We would definitely return and hope to in the near future!
Clean and very comfortable home. We loved its proximity to hiking and both Flat Rock and Hendersonville. The owners were very accommodating and their communication was great. We would definitely rent this home again, without hesitation.
Conveniently located close to town. Great house with consideration of kids. Little disappointed with only one tv in the entire house but overall was great. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Lovely time in Flat Rock. The home is very comfortable in a quiet subdivision. Great swimming hole just up the street. Easy access to restaurants, etc. in Hendersonville. 20 min. to Asheville. 1:40 or so to Smokey Mountains National park.
Erin’s home was just what we needed, we spent 6 days hiking and exploring local recommendations swimming holes and trails
Erin was available for what ever needed and opened her home to our faint clean spacious warm and welcoming
We will definitely rent this property again during our next vacation in Western NC
Thank you Erin for everything
We had an awesome stay. So much fun being together for Christmas. The house had a spacious kitchen and was very accommodating. The rental process was absolutely smooth.
My family and I were all impressed with this rental. The place was exceptionally clean, had wonderful charm, and plenty of activities to enjoy. The only complaint, and this is an extremely mild one, would be that the wifi wasn't very strong, and cut out a few times while I was working there. other than that, the place was perfect! Would recommend and rent again!!
House was wonderful everything you needed was there .. very clean...

About the host
Hosted by Erin Teague
We are the Teague Family. Shane has lived in the region most of his life. Erin is from Virginia and the girls were born here in Hendersonville.
Terrapin Trail is our home and we love it. We open it for your enjoyment while we are away.
Why they chose this property
We bought this home because it is great for gathering large groups of people. The kids can play downstairs while the adults are upstairs in the spacious living room or gathered around the peninsula, snacking, talking and enjoying each other's company. This property is also really close to a couple great little spots. If you drive down the road a mile or so, there is an old, no-longer functioning dam and downstream from it is a great swimming hole. If you drive down Galimore St., you can park at the bottom and hike .25 mile to a waterfall and stream. Fabulous place to kick back and chill.
What makes this property unique
You can sit on the deck in the evenings, fire up the grill and listen to the birds. You can walk to the cul-de-sac and not worry that a car is going to come by at a 100 mph. You might see a fox, a bear, or wild turkeys. We have even heard of a bob-cat sighting, but no one has proven it.
