My family and I had an amazing stay at this beautiful home in a great location. Zero issues, everything was perfect. We were happy to meet Larry, he’s super cool!
We absolutely loved our stay here! The house is beautiful, as is the yard. The area is just completely peaceful. We really loved the large second floor deck. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was excellent. There are two large family rooms, both with smart tvs. There were only two of us, but four people would still have tons of space. There is lots of good places to eat within 5 or less minutes away. You will not be disappointed if you stay here, and we plan on coming again.
My family and I stayed for the weekend. The house included everything you could need. It is located in a very relaxing neighborhood. We definitely plan on staying again if we are ever in the area.
This property is located in a beautiful scenic neighborhood. It's close enough to the City Center but very quiet. The host answered my questions promptly and was very courteous. We would stay here again!
We loved the location of this charming historical cottage with its proximity to the Riverview Park. Very charming renovation of a historical cottage with all the rooms updated to modern standards. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Alton.
The property was very clean owners live right next-door and they are the nicest people ever great great place to stay will definitely use it again. This was my second trip.
This is the second year of staying in this house for our Gateway MS150 bike ride. My mom and friends love this house. It's wonderfully furnished and very cozy with amazing views of the river off the upper balcony and lovely outdoor area for an evening cocktail. Also an easy walk to downtown Alton! Will be back again next year!
The directions and information Lawrence gave was very helpful and we found the place easily. The house was even better than the pictures in the write up portray. The view from every window was of the river. The street is very quiet and peaceful and the views from the backyard always seemed to include a deer or two. The decor and furnishing are very tasteful and the house had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. I recommend highly!
We had a delightful stay at this property. Located about as close to the river as you can get, the house was luxurious but also quite cozy. The views from both bedrooms are superb, and the pillows were some of the best we've slept on in some time.
One note of caution for any travelers with mobility issues: the step inside from the driveway is taller than usual (hey, it was built in 1900 or so) and there are a couple of stairs (not steep) between the downstairs living room and the kitchen.
The hosts were fantastic, and we'd love to visit again one of these days.
The house is beautiful and very clean. They provide all the amenities you could wish for. The view from the upstairs balcony is stunning. The backyard is has a grill and table and chairs to enjoy your night with family and friends or your morning coffee. My only suggestion to the owner would be if they could please add mini blinds in the living room. I slept on the sofa bed and felt a bit nervous that I could be seen at night. You will truly enjoy your stay you will not be disappointed .
We came to Illinois to visit family.Upon arrival the first thing that caught our attention were the historical houses in the neighborhood with a great view of the Mississippi River. Check in process was a breeze. The owner Larry was kind and generous. He was attentive as well. The house has a comfortable relaxing vibe. Bed linens were comfortable, well stocked kitchen and bathroom, plenty of games for a family. We took advantage of the fire pit out back which Larry was so kind to bring over everything we needed for that. He checked on us the first day bringing coffee and related items. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we’d booked again!
Cleaness was superior. The air freshener was superior I wish you would share the fragrance.loOlder home was in excellent condition.Just need a spay of WD 40 on the bedroom door .Overall everything was superior.Beds were comfortable.Very quiet atmosphere. We was there for a funeral in St. Louis Mo.Thanks to the hostUpkeep Property God Bless you
Amazing house!! Everything was perfect . Super clean , everything we needed , great location. Plenty of space for everyone . The house smelt amazing when we walked in . Lawrence, the host , was readily available for any thing we needed and also gave us some tips on fun things to do around town .
One of the best places I have stayed. This house was very clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable. Our favorite part of our trip was sitting on the balcony and watching the traffic on the Mississippi river and listening to the birds. We will definitely be back!
What a beautiful old home. We loved the location and being able to see the river from our bedroom and balcony. Check in was so easy and the hosts were so accommodating. Check in is typically 4 pm and we asked if we could get in a little earlier. We were told the house was open any time that day so we were able to drop our bags at 10 am. The house has everything you can possibly need. We will definitely stay again the next time we need a place in Alton!
