Hello and welcome to Mt Defiance Cabin, part of the Nelson Creek vacation rentals! Our cozy cabins are nestled on 2 quiet acres with views of the Columbia River and surrounding Cascade Mountains. Skamania Lodge, Bridge of the Gods, Mt Hood, Dog Mountain, Multnomah Falls, White Salmon, Hood River and Portland are just a few close destinations. Plenty of parking for boats and RVs. Mt Defiance cabin is a warm and comfortable place where you can escape, relax, and unwind in this beautiful setting. Within a few miles, you will find golf courses, brew pubs, restaurants, farmer markets, shops, waterfalls, wineries, kite boarding, wind surfing, stand up paddling, sailing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, and numerous other recreational adventures. Portland and its airport are an easy 45 minute drive. Enjoy the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center, Maple Leaf Events, Blue and Bluegrass weekend festivals, Skamania County fair, local parks, Beacon Rock State Park, Maryhill, White Salmon and Hood River Wineries.

Stevenson Hideaway

Perfect tranquil location, close (about a mile) to Stevenson. Great hosts, they left us a nice welcome basket of goodies and a card with their contact information in case we needed anything. were met Craig upon arrival.

Great, peaceful location

We had such a nice time staying in this cabin. Beautiful hikes are short drives away, and we had fun checking out local brewpubs -- I especially recommend Backwoods Brewing. The cabin had everything we needed. Thanks, Libby! We're already looking forward to coming again next year.

Perfect Getaway

My wife and I have stayed here 6 or so times in the past 3 years. We absolutely love the quiet location that is just a couple minutes from town, the spotlessly clean house inside and out, the high quality bed and linens, and all the personal touches Libby does to make it stay awesome. Highly recommend!!

Cozy retreat with a view

We enjoyed the view from the living room, deck and patio. The host provided treats in the frig and left a nice welcome card for us too. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

Sunrises over the mountain out the front door. A herd of Elk 50+ strong grazing out front one morning. 20minutes in any direction from amazing waterfalls. Host was quick with responses and left us a bunch snacks! We loved this little cabin and 10/10 will be recommending to friendsa

Wonderful getaway

We love the property and the area. It is a beautiful location overlooking the Columbia River with easy access to hiking in the region. Great area for relaxing and hiking and other activities. Libby and Craig were wonderful hosts and communication was outstanding. We highly recommend this couple.

Beautiful cabin in a great location

Mt Defiance Cabin was the ideal jumping off point for our stay in the Columbia River Gorge. The cabin is perfect for two people and is thoughtfully laid out and fully equipped with everything we needed. Our hosts made great recommendations for places to eat/drink nearby. We are already planning our next visit!

Loved our stay

This little cabin was perfect for our little getaway! We loved the peaceful setting! Everything was very clean and lovely. Stevenson is minutes away and has a nice grocery store and local restaurants. Great hiking close by - Beacon Rock, Falls Creek Falls, and Wahclella Falls were some we really enjoyed. Being greeted by a thank you note and snacks was a nice touch. One of our favorite VRBOs we've stayed at for sure! Thank you for a great stay!

Wonderful!

We have stayed here three times, now, and it feels like home! Everything we needed for our stay was provided. Stevenson is great little town. Good restaurants and cute shops. We enjoyed some other towns around Stevenson. We hope to come back in March or April!

Great cabin

This cabin is in a great location & is everything you could want for a multiple night stay. Thank you so much for the nice note & snacks you left for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a place to stay outside of Portland & wanting to be close to the beautiful Columbia River Gorge or Mt. Hood. It was perfect for that.

Relaxed and comfortable!

This is the perfect little spot for two! The bed and couch are really comfortable! If you love mature, you will love sitting outside watching the baby quails, bunnies, and deer eat each evening. The place is well stocked and very clean. Highly recommend!

Short Getaway

Small but nice layout so it felt spacious. Full kitchen which is always important to me. (No dishwasher if that matters to you..it didn’t to us). Clean and no scented candles or fake scents which give me headaches. Lots of windows to enjoy the beautiful view. Bright and clean and quick communication with the hosts. A delightful couple of days.

Honeymoon getaway

This place was truly wonderful! It was more than we were expecting. Beautiful, clean and welcoming. It has everything you could want in a gorgeous setting. Deer, turkey and little critters entertained us daily. Close to the small town of Stevenson where you can shop for groceries and just walk down the street and enjoy the quaint town. Very relaxing overall. We plan on returning again. Craig and Libby are wonderful hosts! Ron and Debbie

Gorge Delight

Libby and Craig have a beautiful piece of paradise in the Gorge. My partner and I recently stayed in one of their cabins. It clean, cozy and the view out of the front door was stunning! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal with and it was even full of complimentary snacks and refreshments upon arrival! The bed was extremely comfortable, so much so, that I tried to figure out what kind of mattress it was so I could buy one. We loved our time here and look forward to coming back.

Quiet with great view

New, tidy, small, comfy home was perfect for us. Everything we needed. The only thing that disturbed us was the synthetic chemical odor of the plug-in air odorizer. We put it outside but I think the furnishings already absorbed some of the smell. Saw quail, bunnies, deer and squirrels from the windows.
