We’ve been visiting southwest Florida for many years and this was our first time on Pine Island. The property is gorgeous and well maintained. The view of the dock and canal from the back porch is beautiful and so relaxing! Ron makes sure that guests have everything they need and the home is comfortable and clean. Great updated master shower!!! Will definitely come back for a second stay.

The stay at this property couldn't have been better. It was exactly as advertised, very quiet neighborhood, extremely well-appointed kitchen and very comfortable.
The Host was extremely quick to respond to any communication, with thoughtful and helpful responses.
We hope to return Pine Island, and this will be the first place we will consider for our home away from home.

This was our 3rd stay on Pine Island and our 1st stay at this house. We loved everything about the house…the location, the beautiful, updated, decorated house. The view from the deck to the dock/canal was wonderful! I would highly recommend this house. Ron was very easy to work with. He responded very quickly to our text.

Even though there are neighbors, the tropical greenery and location on a canal made the property seem secluded. The view from the dock and front porch were dreamy.
The house is well stocked. It looks like the master bedroom and bath were recently remodeled and they are terrific.
Ron was very responsive to questions via text. We had no problems and a wonderful time. Looking to return again to do some fishing.
We spent 4 nights for our spring break trip with our boys (14 and 17). Wish we would have had more time. We had a ball and the house and property are wonderful. The kayak made it so fun for the boys. Lots of fishing off the dock. We rented a boat for a few days and tied it to the dock. It was a great way to see the local beaches and dockside restaurants. Ron was a wonderful host and more than accessible. He answered every question within 20-30 minutes. Highly recommend this rental!

My husband and adult sons were looking for a place to stay for a long weekend to do some fishing and relaxing.. They looked at places on the Keys but ultimately chose this house because of its location right on the water with a dock to keep a rented boat. They also have so many fond memories of vacationing many times in Captiva growing up and this locatiom would allow them to take their boat to Cabbage Key for lunch - a family favorite activity. This house definitely delivered on all accounts. It was very clean and perfect for three people. Everything very well maintained and communication with Ron the owner was seamless. The location is very peaceful and they loved the little town of Bokeelia for its cute and colorful restsurants and shops. Would highly recommend.

Eye opening
Pine Island is a great place to visit, traveling the entire length of the island you only have 1 stop sign and no stop lights. Very down home; but, with all you need. We never left the island, Win Dixie was close and many places to eat and get an adult beverage. Our favorites were at opposite ends of the island, the Water front (sea food philly) and Capt'n Cons Fish house (sea food chowder). Matlacha had many tourist shops.
Ron did an excellent job with the house, providing everything we needed. We used the boat dock every day. His place is definitely as advertised. Thankyou Ron!!!

We had a wonderful time! The house was very, very clean, and had everything you would need to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms and bathrooms were well appointed. The view from the balcony was amazing both day and night! A kayak is also available. We enjoyed the living room furniture so much that when we got home we ordered a sofa from the same line. (Sorry, we had to peek under the cushions.)
The location is excellent. It is a quiet Island with great restaurants and friendly people. If you go at the right time, check out the mango groves. The Calusa Heritage Trail and Randell Research Center is a good place to visit to learn about the history of the Island. We had fun shopping in Matlacha’s many artisans shops.
I would highly recommend this beautiful place for a quiet getaway.

Old Florida at its best. Quiet, private and off the path. Beautiful new dock, and excellent location for paddling and fishing. Very clean and everything you need in the kitchen. Bonus two man kayak!

This place is top notch! So clean, so cute, exactly as pictured (maybe better!) It was a charming little place that definitely gave a beach vibe. It was super close to fun shopping and great restaurants. The owner was so fast to respond every time we asked anything. If you had a boat it would be even better with the water access and the amazing new dock.
The wifi worked great and they had lots of options for tv entertainment. Anything we needed was provided (dish soap, laundry detergent, little cooler to take to beach, toilet paper, etc.) It was so nice we didn’t have to go out and buy those things. Tons of towels and extra blankets were available. Beds were super comfy and bathrooms were updated.
The only downfall is it’s a little far from the beach, but we knew that going in. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place!

This property offers a lot of entertainment opportunity. Fishing, kayaking, bird watching. We liked to see the tropical trees, coconut, mango, sapota , Palm trees and flower plants in the property.
Great dock. And great front porch. We spent our time between them.
House and property were clean and neighborhood was very quiet.
It was too windy to use the kayak but the location to open water looks very good.
We did catch fish from the dock and noticed the underwater light early in the morning did attract some very large fish.
Great place. Great stay.

Thank you Cathleen for your positive feedback. I know how important a grill can be to enhance your vacation experience & it was my pleasure in making things right.
Safe travels & I hope to hear from you again.

Great location for kayaking among the mangroves to view bird life. Finding the hidden lagoon we visited several times. Birding from the two person kayak provided by the rental especially nice. Hiking on island preserves and eating in local restaurants a fun addition to water activities. Top of the list however is sitting on the deck reading, and listening to the birds fly over the canal while a light breeze cools you from the 70/80 degree temperature. Loved every bit of our experience.
Comment to owner: Twin beds should be upgraded to include box springs(not a “spring” bed), and the grill needs to have deflector screens which lay over the burners replaced as they are currently completely rusted through. Rating at 4star which otherwise would be 5star if not for the twin beds and grill.

About the host

I spent a big part of my childhood in SW Florida. I love fishing & being surrounded by nature. Bokeelia offered me a chance to re-live my greatest childhood memories all over again.
Why they chose this property
I searched for a very long time until I found just the right property. This checked all the boxes for me.
What makes this property unique
Close to everything, but the feel of being far away from it all. Sit on the dock, enjoy a drink, watch the nature all around you & you will get it!
