Sailing around Antigua out of Jolly Harbour
We rented this boat incl a skipper for 3 days and sailed around Antigua. Beautiful sailing area. To do both, boat plus skipper, is not a bad deal, as you have the boat to yourself and your own skipper. We would not recommend renting the boat as ‘accommodation only’. The boat is rather dated, doesn’t have a holding tank, and kitchen facilities are limited. For the same amount, you can also get very nice hotels or villa rooms on the island. The skipper knows the area well, and is very knowledgeable about the reefs, shallow places etc. The boat is easy to sail and handle. The skipper was less good in management of the trip - we had to do a governmental boat check in the middle of a Sunday (!), he ran out of cooking gas and took half a day to replace the gas tank, resulting in less sailing and leasure time. All in all we had a very nice trip but would carefully consider whether we would rent this boat again.

Why they chose this property

Guests have exclusive access to the yacht (2 double cabins and saloon area). The accommodation also comprises a galley kitchen, two WCs and a shower, saloon area and outdoor eating area plus ample deck space. When at anchor or moored offshore there are crewed dinghy transfers ashore. To ensure a more comfortable experience and guarantee personal space we accept a maximum of four guests for overnight stays. The boat can take up to 8 guests for day charters. The skipper sleeps in a rear cabin when doing overnight charters, otherwise he goes ashore in the evening.

What makes this property unique

A friendly, experienced, English speaking skipper will greet you on arrival, show you round the boat and provide a safety briefing. He's passionate about sailing and works hard to ensure guests have an amazing experience. We have a relaxed approach and enjoy teaching people how to sail if they are keen. We're sociable but also very good at keeping out of the way and leaving plenty of space for you to enjoy the boat. You are in safe hands - the skipper is highly qualified and experienced.
