About this property

Charming house by the sea near Wissant

In 2014, we renovated this fully integrated barn in a farmhouse dating from 1832. The house can accommodate up to 8 people with 2 bedrooms + 1 sleeping on the floor and 2 bathrooms.

The special charm of this place is the situation in the beautiful bay 2 caps, calm, close to the beach (1200 m), the fields and hills of sight.
Ideal location for visiting the Opal Coast (Calais City of Lace), Belgium (50 km), Lille (130 km / 30 minutes by train), Paris and London (1h20 TGV train station in Calais Frethun 6 km ), military cemeteries as part of the commemoration of the war 14/18 (45 min Vimy- - Somme (45 mins)
We are at 1200 m from the sea, 5 km from Wissant, with a choice between a rather wild beach and the beach of Wissant (famous spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing).
Possibility to rent the weekend 290/440 euros depending on season.

Peaceful and very Comfortable

This is a very pleasant place to stay. The accomodation has everything you need and it benefits from good room sizes. Escalles has some great restaurants to eat in. The Opal coast is stunning and there is good walking in the area of the Two Capes.

Schön für kleine Gruppen!

Sehr schöne Unterkunft! Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und gepflegt! Das 3. Schlafzimmer ist ein Durchgangszimmer, dies war im Angebot nicht ersichtlich. Außerdem fehlen im Bad ein paar Handtuchhaken, für mind. 4 Personen war das etwas wenig. Ansonsten eine sehr schöne Unterkunft und nette Gastgeber!

Familienurlaub für eine Woche

Wir haben das ruhige und wunderschöne Haus sehr genossen. Alles ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und dekoriert. Wir haben es sehr sauber vorgefunden. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut. Egal ob Küche oder der Rest des Hauses - es ist alles da, was man für einen rundum schönen und entspannten Urlaub benötigt. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbreit und immer ansprechbar. Auch der Außenbereich ist ansprechend. Trotzdem der Garten nicht nur dem Ferienhaus zugeordnet ist, sondern die Vermieter auch ab und zu dort durchlaufen, um zu einem der Schuppen zu gehen, fühlten wir uns nicht gestört und hatten ausreichend Privatssphäre. Auch die Lage ist gut. Gut zu erreichen. Sehr ruhig, ab vom Trubel und doch nah an der Küste. Ein nicht allzulanger Spaziergang und wir waren am Strand. Es ist aus unserer Sicht sehr empfehlenswert und wir kommen gern wieder! Vielen Dank!

Gemütliches Haus mit guter Ausstattung

Wir haben hier ein sehr schönes langes Wochenende verbracht. Im und um das Haus findet man alles was es für einen schönen Urlaub braucht Frederick und seine Familie sind sehr nette Gastgeber und gaben uns nützliche Tipps für Aktivitäten und Sehenswürdigkeiten in der nähe.

Erholsame Ferienzeit

Wir hatten eine schöne entspannte Familienzeit in Escalles. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet, geräumig und ruhig gelegen. Es gibt einen schönen Garten und eine Terrasse, auf der wir gemeinsam gegessen haben. Zum Meer ist es nur einen kurzen Spaziergang durch den Ort. Am Strand gibt es einen tollen Ausblick rüber nach England. Das Wetter war durchwachsen - ist leider dort häufiger so. Sonnenanbeter haben’s da schwer.

prachtige rustige locatie

mooi koel huis, parking op terrein, goede bedden, hele goede douche, badkamer met wasmachine. Groot terras met gras en tafeltennistafel. Woonkamer met eettafel, goede bank en stoelen. Prima keuken met vaatwasser. Scherp mes nodig. Prima uitvalbasis voor bezoek zee, krijtrotsen en lekker wandelen in omgeving. Gedetailleerde kaart aanwezig.

Magnifique gîte très bien situé

Sehr entspannter Urlaub

Der Urlaub in dem kleinen Ort Escalles in Herbst 2019 war sehr entspannt. Das Haus war sauber, und entspricht der Beschreibung. Die Übergabe hat reibungslos geklappt und sowohl der Besitzer als auch die Verwalterin waren sehr freundlich. Wir würden das Haus wieder buchen.

The little calm tide pool

We highly enjoyed our stay in Escalles. The modern remodeling of this little barn from the 1830ies is pure and clean - a place where your mind really can come to rest. A very special plus is the patio with a beautiful view into the garden filled with scented roses in early June. We left enchanted and deeply relaxed by the beautiful landscape and the calm little house. Thank you!

Verträumtes kleines Örtchen

Escalles ist ein kleines Örtchen direkt an einer Bucht. wir hatten kein all zu schönes Wetter, dafür hatten wir die Möglichkeit wandern zu gehen und die herrliche Gegend zu erkunden. Auch das Ferienhaus war sehr schön und modern eingerichtet. Bequeme Betten, Viel Platz in der Küche und alle Utensilien zum Kochen waren ebenfalls vorhanden. Eine Partysstadt ist es nicht aber wer seine Ruhe haben will und etwas abschalten mag der sollte sich diese Häuschen mal ansehen.

Maison très agréable et bien agencée. Tout le comfort nécessaire et aussi tout ce qu'il faut pour les enfants ! L'accueil est cordial et nos discussions avec les propriétaires nous ont permis de découvrir de nouveaux endroits !Il y a toujours quelque chose à faire dans cette belle région! Bref très bon séjour, à renouveler absolument !A noter tout de même accès wifi mais pas de tv..

Il ne pouvait pas être mieux!

Nous avons passé 4 jours à Escalles avec 2 familles (5 enfants et nous avons été totalement satisfaits. La maison est décorée avec beaucoup de goût, rien ne manque. Le jardin est magnifique, parfait avec les enfants, parce que vous pouvez fermer la porte à la rue. En plus: la famille Hauwen est très sympathique et compétent. En outre, la région est très jolie et variée. Nous serons heureux de revenir.
