Casita la Cueva is a very cozy and uniquely built 316 square foot multi level suite. The suite is partially built into the hillside below our main cabin. The space has its own private entrance. The room contains a queen bed, small sectional, flat screen tv, closet, Jotul LP fireplace, a kitchenette with frig, small microwave, sink, portable induction cooktop, hot/cold Primo water dispenser, Keurig coffee maker with coffee selection, dishes, small portable ice maker and kitchen utensils. There is a separate bathroom. We have Starlink internet, DVD movies for your enjoyment, and games. On your private deck is a small cafe table with chairs, two chair hammocks, and LP BBQ. Below the deck is a small patio with an LP fire pit. Off your deck is a view of Heron Lake. There is even a lower patio area within walking distance from the suite. There you will find a seating area, LP BBQ, picnic table, horseshoe pit, wood burning fire pit area and cornhole. The Village of Chama is about 20 miles away. You can ride the Cumbres/Toltec railroad during the months of late May through October. It is very popular and tickets go quickly. Tierra Wools is also in Chama. Many people come to learn how to weave using the famous churro wools. Taos is about 86 miles, Santa Fe 97, Pagosa Springs, CO is 64, Wolf Creek Ski area outside of Pagosa 101 and Durango 121. There is river rafting, kayaking, numerous trailheads, horseback riding and just plain quiet during the summer months. An abundance of wildlife meanders about the area.
