Built in 1950, The Retro House lets you step back in time with furnishings from the 1930s through the 1960s. From the fully working rotary dial telephones to the restored 1957 refrigerator and 1954 stove, almost everything in the home is original to those decades and lovingly curated from three different states. However the home does contain the modern conveniences you would want like a large screen television, microwave, dishwasher, Internet and WiFi. Located in the garage are a modern washer and dryer, an adult trike, or bicycles for your use on the trails, and dumbbell work out gym.
If you only love things that are modern, new, smart appliances, etc., this is probably not the place for you. If you want to say, "I remember these", "This reminds me of my Grandmother's house", or "Wow. Why don't they still make them like this?", then you will understand The Retro House.
The house sits on two city lots with a relaxing front porch and a covered back patio that looks out on seven pecan trees and a nature show of birds and squirrels. It’s also nice to sit under the pecan trees with a book or music and just relax. An added bonus, if you are new to Oklahoma weather, a full storm cellar is located immediately behind the house.
The Retro House is available 2 to 28 days. That’s really the best way to step back in time. Feel the wood floors under your feet. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch that you made in the percolator and prop your feet up on the wrought iron porch rails. Or just sit under the 7 pecan trees in the back city lot yard and listen to the wind rustle through the leaves as you plan your next adventure in the City..
