About this property
Mesmerizing view with pool 2 bedroom stone cottage in Coral Bay
Welcome to Sailors Cottage, perched on a knoll overlooking Coral Bay and beyond to the British Virgin Islands, Sailors Cottage is your perfect family vacation getaway. Wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the tranquil Caribbean Sea. Spend your day hiking or relaxing on a pristine National Park beach. Then come home to unwind on the well appointed pool deck, BBQ, take a dip in the pool, and relax with a cocktail while you relive the day’s adventures and watch the boats sail in to moor for the night. Sailors Cottage is a 5 minute drive to all the shops and restaurants Coral Bay has on offer, but is just far enough away to feel private and away from it all. We are 15 to 20 minutes to the North Shore Beaches, SaltPond on the south shore and Hansen and Haulover on the East side. Sailors Cottage is is a stone home with nautical accents. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy a meal at home and there is even a dishwasher to help with the clean up. The water is triple filtered and UV treated, so no need for plastic bottles. The property is beautifully landscaped with many different types of palms and lots of colorful flowers. Come stargaze at Sailors Cottage and enjoy beautiful St John in a quiet neighborhood far away from the hustle of daily life. The property offers 2 bedrooms, one is a primary king suite with a bathroom, the second bedroom is more of a kids bunk room with 2 twin beds. Both bedrooms have AC units for a great nights sleep. There is a second full bathroom in the main living area. (If you are looking for 2 couples, we have another rental called Blue Kai which offers 2 king suites) We are kid friendly, but do want to point out that the bedrooms are on the lower level and both have exterior entrances. While the doors are very close, this may not be the best for very young children. The pool is on the upper level with the main living areas, the stairs between the 2 levels are exterior stairs and it is not possible to lock off access to the pool. We have had children of all ages stay with us and we leave it to your comfort level and discretion. The road to this property is mostly gravel with a few paved sections. It is a bit adventurous and we recommend a Jeep or something similar, it is not dangerous but you will need a bit of ground clearance. If you have any questions about the property please reach out, I promise that all questions will be answered with complete honesty. We manage our own properties and we take pride in providing an exceptional guest experience. We are 100% available during your stay to answer questions, provide advice, or address any maintenance issues that may arise.

We had an amazing time at this home - the view and home were spectacular. We appreciated how quiet this side of the island was at night and the quick access to beaches and great restaurants. The road is rugged but a fun part of the experience and yes you will want a Jeep. The host was great and had a lot of tips and suggestions.
The house and view is beyond amazing but Kim the host and her husband David go above and beyond any host I have met before they are there with tons of suggestions and very responsive to any concern. Kim even gave us a ride when our jeep broke down and offered to help us when our flight was cancelled she is amazing You will have nothing to worry about
Kim is an excellent host. She met us when we arrived and guided us the home. She walked us through the property, explaining where things were. We stood on the pool deck and she pointed out the grocery store, restaurants and described her favorite beaches. The home is great. Bed is comfortable, kitchen well stocked for cooking, pool is perfect. Star gazing from the deck was a nice treat. Kim responded quickly to questions we had about the island. Perfect!
Sailor’s cottage is a place I will tell everyone to stay. Kimberly our host was wonderful, her description of her property was everything she said it was plus more. Thank you again for the wonderful vacation..
Checkin was great. Road to home is extremely bumpy but worthwhile. Pool and view is phenomenal. Great place. No AC in the main unit. Dont forget to rub the belly of the Buddha.
Kim was an excellent host and was very accommodating! Place was beautiful, had beautiful views and everything you need to feel right at home! ❤️ highly recommend
The property was very nice and clean and Kim was over the top helpful. The views of Coral Bay are amazing with gorgeous sunrises. I would definitely stay here again. We absolutely loved our time at Sailors Cottage and Coral Bay! Can't wait to go back!
Beautiful little villa, better than advertised! The hosts are incredibly hospitable and helpful and made our stay so easy. The views are unbeatable, and the access is central to north shore beaches, east end, south shore. Will definitely stay again if we ever come back!

Sailor’s Cottage is absolutely gorgeous and everything we could ask for! The view is amazing. Kim is a pleasure to talk to and very informative of the Island.
We had a wonderful stay at Kim's place. She was responsive to all of our needs, and kept us up to date on any island happenings.
House was well equipped, everything we needed was readily available.
Would happily return.
This house was exactly what we were hoping for. Tranquil atmosphere with an amazing view. Very clean and stocked with pretty much everything you'll need. Kim was a great host and very quick to respond to text messages. Highly recommended.
We loved our time at Sailors Cottage. As previous reviews attest, Kim is a great host. She (and her family) did everything they could to make sure we had what we needed. We are completely sold on the Coral Bay side of the island, and would, without a doubt, stay here again.
We loved this beautiful, sweet home. Kimberly was such a gracious host and readily helpful and available. The living space & kitchen were perfect. It had all the amenities that you would need for a comfortable stay. The pool, patio, and view were over the top! We loved hanging out on the patio in the morning sipping our coffee, watching the hummingbirds, and planning our day. In the evening, we would have drinks, look at the stars, and reminisce about our day.
Kim was an incredible host! She has thought of everything that we needed throughout the week.
Great recommendations on where to go like beaches, nights out etc. it was an experience we will never forget! Thank you Kim for everything!
It all started with good communication. We were kept informed and the communication was accurate. The entire rental process was well coordinated and we were so happy to be on vacation with nature at this property.
I think we hit the jackpot with finding this house for our first trip to the island! Kim was helpful from the jump and went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of! Everything is a quick drive away that you may need. The breeze with the windows open was so nice, fresh air all day. Can’t wait to return! ☀️
Property has everything that you would expect and more. Very clean with beautiful views. My only suggestion would be to look at getting the wifi / television added to the solar panel power as the grid power to the property dropped off multiple times. This was a minor issue and very much elcipsed by how wonderful the stay was overall!

Thank you for the nice review. I would like to clarify that the WiFi issues were island wide, it happens occasionally but is not the norm.
About the host
Hosted by Kim Edwards
I moved to the Virgin Islands almost 30 years ago and worked as a hotel pastry chef and as a chef on charter boats. Sailing and baking are my passion. I pursued my baking passion first, opening Baked in the Sun in Cruz Bay in 2000. It was a great 10 years of baking for friends, family and visitors on St John. In 2010 I sold the bakery to 2 of the employees and prepared for the next adventure, a sail around the world! We left in 2012 myself, my husband David and our then 6 year old son Zack onboard our 44 foot sailboat “Flour Girl “It was an amazing 5 year adventure, we visited many countries, made amazing friends along the way, and had the adventure of a lifetime. We sailed back into Cruz Bay on June 6th 2017 and it was still the most beautiful and magical place we had ever been! There was a little blip there in September and we lost our sailboat “Flour Girl”. But, life goes on, and we purchased Sailors Cottage and we spend our days living the adventure that is St John. If you would like to read about our sailing adventure you can visit sailblogs.com Flour Girl.
