Very cozy cottage, the structure reminded me of my great grandmothers house with all its charm. Furniture was very comfortable and beautiful views.Host was wonderful.
Hadn’t been up to Laurel Springs in a few years but finally made it up for a weekend fishing trip. Fish weren’t biting but we always have a good time at the Ramblers Rest!
The property lived up to the description and Bob was the perfect host! I love that it's a family home he's sharing with visitors to the area. It was convenient to the wedding we attended at the Summit on Cross Mountain. The parkway was nearby and W Jefferson was a 30 minutes drive away. It was cozy and have us a place to wind down before and after the festivities. I love that it's surrounded by Christmas tree farms a well.
The property was as described; very clean and well appointed. Bob was very welcoming and responsive. It was perfect for our family stay. Highly recommend!
The home is as advertised. It is a nice, quaint little cottage in the mountains. It was clean, had the essentials, and a few extras. We made use of the charcoal grill for dinner, and there is a fire pit in the back for s'mores or just relaxing. There are plenty of beds, and the recliner couch is good when you come in for the evening. And I can’t forget about Mr Bob- best host ever! He checked on us a little after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed and knew how to work everything. We saw him outside later in passing and he told us where to find a convenience store and about a local festival that we could visit. He was super kind, friendly, and accommodating, and not at all intrusive. We will be back I’m sure.
Clean comfortable rooms, exactly as the description of property, host was communicative before, during, and after stay. Beautiful views more than adequate amenities.
The house was located very close to all areas that we like to visit. Very quiet and private. Bob was a very good host. The house was clean and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
Very quiet and peaceful. No one bothers you unless you need something. The host Bob checks on you the first night and then asks about your stay at the end and wishes you farewell and safe travels. Very lovely man. Would stay again
I stayed in the northern part of North Carolina for the month of August, and it was everything I could have hoped for.
The accommodations were excellent, and the surrounding area was great.
The hosts (Bob and Lynn) were very welcoming and friendly. In fact, when my stay was concluded, I felt as if I had made new friends.
I highly recommend the "Rambler's Rest" and intend to return for the month of August next year.
This was our second stay at this cottage and we love it! Perfect for our family of 5. The hosts are excellent and make sure your comfortable. Close to the New River State Park, Outfitters, and not far from Jefferson/West Jefferson.
Perfect place to rest your head while exploring the surrounding state parks. The host was very nice and have great recommendations for food and things to do.
Me. Bob was the nicest host ever! He had atleast 7 bird feeders in a tree and the song birds were beautiful singing. The yard was a joy for the kids to get out and run and play. We will definitely visit him again!
The is the cutest cottage located in the NC mountains. Comfy and cozy, with a wonderful view. Bob was amazing and made us feel right at home. The cottage is located within a close driving range of several quaint NC towns, Boone, West Jefferson and Sparta. We had a great time exploring these little treasures and getting to meet and talk with the locals. Some awesome places to dine in these areas. Some of our favorites are The Local in Boone, Boondocks in West Jefferson, and The Pines in Sparta. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway then this is the place for you. We left feeling rested and energized ready to get back to normal life.
If you're looking for a cozy home in the Mountains this is it. Our stay while short was wonderful. We came in from Pennsylvania and Mr. Bob made us feel so welcome. He help map out routes to Tennessee to see family and gave lots of suggestions for food. Very clean cozy house. We will most definitely stay again.
