Mountaineer Cabin 2 - Hot Tub & Fireplace close to New River Gorge National Park
Single-story cabin 7 miles from New River Gorge Bridge in a secluded wooded area. This charming 2-bedroom cabin sleeps 6 with two queen bedrooms, a sleeper sofa, & full bathroom. Full kitchen with open living room. Amenities include private hot tub, grill (propane & charcoal), fireplace, and outdoor fire pit. Front deck has patio swing and rocking chairs. 10-minute drive to Adventures on the Gorge (AOTG), 12 minutes to downtown Fayetteville, & 25 minutes to ACE Adventure Lake.
Our cozy, quaint cabins include two bedrooms with a queen bed and sink with mirror in each room. Living room area has pullout couch and multiple chairs with a 50in smart TV. There is one full bathroom in the unit. We provide towels and linens. Shampoo, conditioner, & body wash is provided. The living room & kitchen area are open with a dining table perfect for groups of 4-6. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and basic cooking utensils. Basic cleaning supplies are provided under the kitchen sink. Each cabin has internet, air conditioning, & parking right beside unit.
Cell phone service in this area may be spotty. We are located in rural West Virginia which has its advantages & disadvantages. Starlink has recently been installed in this cabin with better internet access being reported since installation.
Our property has 6 cabins with 2 tucked away completely and the remaining 4 in their own cul-de-sac (Mountaineer Cabins #1-#4). This cul-de-sac is wooded and secluded from the road, however, you will be within eye sight of some of our other cabins. We find them all to be fairly private. Cabins 1 & 2 may have minimal road noise.
We do not have a washer/dryer listed on our amenities, however, we do have a shared washroom with washer/dryer that guests may use when it is not in use by our cleaning staff. This room is used as a staging area by our cleaning staff to service all 6 of our cabins. During the day at least one of the washer/dryer units is typically in use by our cleaning staff, if not both. Both are generally open during the morning & evening. The wash room is located beside cabin 1, has two washers/dryers, and has laundry supplies that the guests may use free of charge. Please note no washers/dryers are in the cabins. The facilities are available as a curtesy to our guests.
Each cabin has its own private hot tub that is enclosed in a room attached to the cabin. We empty, clean, and refill our hot tubs after each stay. For this reason, there is a chance that the hot tub will not be up to full temperature immediately after checking in, especially if a guest checked out that morning. It generally only takes a couple hours at most but may be a little longer during the colder months. Please do not push hot tub buttons attempting to heat it quicker. Hot tubs have many locks (kid, eco etc…). You may lockout or shutdown the heating process by pushing the wrong button.
Cabin 2 has a real fireplace. All of the cabins have an outdoor fire pit area with a picnic table. Firewood is not provided but is sold at Walmart, Kroger, Lowe’s and the Exxon station by I19. Each cabin has both a propane grill & charcoal grill on the front porch. Propane is included but charcoal is not. Additional propane tanks can be found at our shared washroom area in a closet next to the entry door.
We do allow well-behaved, small-medium sized dogs (50 pounds or less) for a $50.00 additional cleaning fee. No cats. 2 dogs maximum. Guests are expected to dispose of their dogs waste before leaving. There is an outdoor trashcan near the walkway of the cabin. All pets must be listed on the reservation when booking and housebroken. Failure to include your pet in the reservation will result in fines. Guests will be responsible for any damages caused by their pets.
Our cabins are less than 10 minutes away from the newest National Park! The New River Gorge offers world class whitewater, rock climbing, mountain biking, ziplining, hiking, fishing, bird watching, and more! The gorge provides some of the most beautiful scenery on the east coast. Fayetteville West Virginia, voted top 10 coolest small towns in America, is a short 15 minute drive from the cabins and has lots of great local restaurant options. Our welcome guide includes food and activity recommendations during your stay.
Please note that we have a fairly strict cancelation policy. This includes changes to the reservation dates outside of the cancelation period. Feel free to reach out but if the request has short notice or involves a weekend reservation it is unlikely we will be able to accommodate the request. One of the only remedies we will offer is a refund if someone else rebooks the same dates as your reservation. Our rentals are booked nearly every weekend so allowing a date change or short notice cancelation generally results in us losing a reservation we would have had otherwise. For this reason, we recommend purchasing travelers’ insurance through the app if you expect you may have an issue.

Loved this cabin. It was so cozy that it made us wish we'd planned to stay longer just to hang out here! Absolutely a perfect place to have a mountain getaway close to Fayetteville and the national park!
The cabin was the perfect size for our family. The location was perfect to get to the new river gorge area for hiking and the visitors center as well as the added bonus of Babcock state park which was also a great place to visit. I will say that while the piggly wiggly is closer for groceries, the Kroger had much better prices. Just keep that in mind when shopping. Also if you get a chance be sure to go to the secret society of sandwiches in Fayetteville. You won’t be disappointed. The hot tub was perfect, access to 3 different types of grills to cook on was pleasantly unexpected, and while the other cabins are close they aren’t close enough to make you feel like you didn’t have plenty of space. I’d highly recommend staying here.
Great location for what we wanted to do New river national Park along with visiting Thurmond. Great host with what we were looking for at far as amenities. Thank you!
My family had a great stay. Host was responsive and informative. Cabin was exactly as advertised. A great location if looking to visit New River Gorge!
The cabin was very clean, updated and well maintained! Our host had great communication and check in was very easy! Our only negative was the hot tub cover was a little hard to mange for two older adults! Also, providing some firewood would definitely add to the stay, especially in winter!
The cabins are well maintained , clean and cozy . I was pleasantly surprised based on other "cabins " I've stayed in . Very nice living area and the bedrooms not a far drive to the trails Would highly recommend
Excellent communication. Property was exactly as described in listing. Perfect location for several travel destinations. Loved that they left suggestions for places to go, things to see and where to eat. Great experience overall!
The cabin was so nice and comfortable, We enjoyed the hot tub every night after a day out site seeing and doing tours. Bred was so comfortable. We would stay here again if every in the area.
The stay in this vrbo was very cozy and just what we needed. It had everything necessary for a weekend trip. It was extremely convenient with an easy driving distance to all the activities and downtown. Very clean and well kept. The hot tub was a nice addition along with the porch swing and outdoor grill. I would recommend this stay.
We enjoyed staying in Cabin 2; and it had everything we needed. The communication with Paul, the owner, was excellent, and we loved the hikes and restaurants that he recommended. Although the location was private with a wonderful front porch, the constant road noise prevents us from giving a 5-star review. Thanks for a terrific stay!
Cabin was perfect setting and everything we needed. Loved the fireplace and hot tub. Close to attractions and store convenience. Would enjoy going back.
Enjoyed our stay - house was comfortable and a convenient location relative to activities, but the road is loud until later at night.
