Very nice/clean place. We enjoyed our stay, it was very quiet and relaxing. We saw goats, deer, and squirrels on the property during our stay. We only stayed for the weekend but we had no problems during our stay, and we will come back again in the near future. Thanks!

Beautiful View and Quiet Space

The property is very quiet and private, with a beautiful view. Its close to Fayetteville and the New River Gorge Bridge. We really enjoyed our time here!

Lovely cabin

The cabin was perfect all around. The secluded lot allowed for quiet mornings and evenings relaxing on the deck. The cabin was equipped with everything needed. Great communication and details from the owners.

Stars Couldn't Have Been Brighter

My wife and I stayed here during a hiking trip and it was perfect weekend getaway! The nights were amazing. Being in the rolling hills of West Virginia, away from the city lights and suburbia, the stars looked like they were right on top of you. The hot tub was a nice amenity too, especially after a long day of hiking. All other accommodations fit what we were looking for. We would definitely stay here again!

Great stay

A very clean, comfortable cabin, located such that it was easy to get to many different and beautiful places, especially the 13 waterfalls we visited. The literature in the cabin helped us plan our hikes, and the cabin had everything we needed for our 11 night stay. The hosts were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. We were more than delighted with their recommendation of Pies & Pints for dinner - twice! Just a fabulous vacation spot. Would give them more stars if we could!

Peace and quiet in them thar hills …

Great spot if you’re looking for peace and quiet and getting off the grid. Wifi speeds are SLOW, so don’t plan on streaming or video conferences (which is a good thing). Our plan was to ditch the phones for three days, play board games, hike, raft and sit on the deck. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this spot. Side note, driveway up is doable in a minivan. However if there’s snow you’ll need something beefier.

Nice romantic getaway.

The fireplace was a nice touch. The view is breathtaking!! Hot tub was nice other than some one flying a drone overhead while we where in the hot tub. The drone activity made it very uncomfortable. I made the host aware of it and was told that it was the neighbor. She said there was nothing she could do about it. But otherwise, it was a nice weekend.

LOVELY LOVELY home close to New River Gorge activities

My husband and I visited at the end of August for the Spartan Race at Summit Bechtel , as well as to do some whitewater rafting, hiking and fishing. This was a PERFECT home for just the two of us; cozy and clean and secluded, but within just minutes of stores, restaurants, and of course all of the New River Gorge activities. Shanna was very communicative, both before and during our stay, and was very friendly and helpful with a few questions. (We didn't have many; her directions and guidance beforehand prepared us very well!) My only suggestion is - as Shanna said in her directions - to pull up your map and directions to the house BEFORE you lose GPS and internet access (you will!) Thanks for a wonderful visit, Shanna - we will be back!

Beautiful private cabin

This cabin is beautiful with an incredible view. The kids loved the board games, hot tub, and neighboring farm animals. While there we saw rabbits, many birds, deer, a turtle, and a hawk with prey in its talons! It’s close enough to local fun activities. The gps did work, but wanted us to go straight when we needed to turn right into the driveway. As others have noted, the water does have a smell, which happens when you are far from society! We brought our own drinking water and that worked well. Also, not sure if the fence is electrified for the neighboring property, but we told our kids to treat it as such.

A Lovely Slice of Almost Heaven

We were visiting the area because our kids were at the nearby Summit Bechtel Reserve Scouting High Adventure Camp for National Scout Jamboree. We had no familiarity with the area, but this place looked good and was close to where we needed to be. Our host was welcoming and provided excellent communication before and during our stay. The rental has a gorgeous view of a meadow. It is peaceful and serene. We were treated to sights of fireflies, a Luna moth, many wild rabbits, and deer in the time we were there. This is perfect for you if you want to be in a beautiful slice of the beautiful almost heaven that West Virginia is. There were many interesting things to see and do within a short drive. We highly recommend the bridge walk and the National Park nearby. There are also many whitewater rafting options we didn’t have time to sample. Finding the entrance to the road was easy enough but be prepared for a long and rustic road in. I wouldn’t arrive the first time after dark if I was you. We struggled a bit with the gate but our friendly host answered the call and was ready with the help we needed. The house itself is comfortable, clean, and charming. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed to cook our meals when we ate in. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom. There was laundry detergent for the washer (although we had brought some because you never know). We were very pleased with our whole experience.

Wonderful cabin for a calming getaway

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend to check out the New River Gorge area. The cabin was exactly as described! It is very clean with a fully stocked kitchen. The view from the back window and deck is awesome. It is so quiet and calming and we loved getting to see the goats in the evening. It’s a nice location for enjoying the New River Gorge and still close to grocery stores and basic shopping needs. Shanna’s directions to get to the cabin were awesome. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning.
