About this property

Pet-Friendly Lakeside Cabin with Kayaks, Canoe, and Pedal Boat!

Welcome to Cattail Cabin, your cozy retreat nestled on the shores of Lower Holly Lake, in Stone Lake, Wisconsin. This open-concept cabin, built in 2018, boasts a perfect blend of modern comfort and rustic charm.

First, some quick notes:

Parking -- We kindly ask for a 4 vehicle limit. The driveway is the only place to park and it is not very big :-).

Dock Install/removal -- We usually take the dock out of the water late October (we wait as long as we can) and we usually put it back in around mid/late April (we try to get it in as soon as we can). If you are looking at dates during either of these times of the year, don't hesitate to reach out to confirm status before booking.

Cabin Highlights:

• Spacious Living: With 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and a finished walk-out basement, this 2,000 sq ft haven comfortably sleeps 8 guests. The cozy ambiance, complemented by central air and heating, ensures a delightful stay year-round.
• Scenic Views: Take in the fantastic view of 48-acre Lower Holly Lake from the large deck or unwind in the screened-in porch. The beauty of the lake is right at your doorstep.
• Entertainment Galore: The fully finished walk-out basement is a game-lover's paradise, featuring a ping pong table. For those seeking relaxation, the gas fireplace on the main floor provides warmth and charm during the winter months.
• Full Kitchen: The complete kitchen, with a spacious center island, is a chef's dream. The dining table, seating 8, is perfect for shared meals and memorable conversations.

Perfect Location:

Cattail Cabin is ideally situated just a 10-minute drive from the charming town of Stone Lake. Explore pubs, antique stores, a micro-brew/coffee house, and a wine bar, all contributing to the town's unique charm.

For those craving more excitement, the bustling town of Hayward is a short 15-minute drive away, known for its food, shopping, year-round events, festivals, and tourist attractions.

Outdoor Adventures:

The cabin sits on a snowmobile and ATV trail, making it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Cattail Cabin, with its own dock, is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. This hidden gem offers a quiet escape with amazing fishing opportunities, including Northern Pike and pan fish.

Ask about our fishing guide referral! We are partnered with a local professional fishing guide to give our guests year-round access to the very best fishing on all the area lakes -- not just ours! Yes - even ice fishing. All you need is a valid WI fishing license and he takes care of the rest.

Amenities Galore:

Your stay includes 2 kayaks, a canoe, a pedal boat, firewood for the fire pit, and a gas griddle for outdoor feasts. We're pet-friendly, ensuring the whole family can enjoy the getaway. Inside, enjoy high-speed internet, Smart HDTVs, a king bed in the master bedroom, laundry facilities, and a collection of books and games.

Cattail Cabin is more than a cabin; it's a haven where every detail has been considered to ensure your stay is unforgettable.

Thanksgiving Getaway
This property was a great location for our family and a couple extended family members and two dogs to stay for a Thanksgiving getaway. The cabin was spotlessly clean on our arrival. The owner was very communicative throughout the process and responded to all our questions. The information provided made the trip very easy, from directions to the cabin to check in and check out procedures and reminders. The location was fabulous. Quiet and peaceful. The amenities at the house were great and as expected. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table, Wii games and puzzles/games available at the cabin. The outdoors in warmer months would be fabulous! We still enjoyed walking the dogs down the road and the kids played in the yard. But we can see how wonderful the outdoor amenities would be in the other warmer seasons! The only critiques we could make are barely worth mentioning. We would have enjoyed additional blankets for the beds - we were a bit cold at night. Liquid measuring cups would have been helpful. Otherwise the kitchen was sufficient even for making thanksgiving dinner!

My wife Sarah and I are from Eau Claire (about an hour and a half south of our cabin) which is where we live too. We have 2 teenage kids at home, so like a lot of families, we are busy keeping up with sports, school activities, and everything in between. We identify with everyone out there who feels the need to get away every once in a while.

Why they chose this property

We love the northwoods! We chose to buy this home because we stayed at a handful of cabin rentals nearby in years past and fell in love with this area. It didn’t take long before we dreamed of owning our own cabin someday.

What makes this property unique

The first time we saw this cabin in-person, it was still under construction, however we knew right away that it was something special. When you're inside the cabin, you still feel connected to the outdoors. Even though the building is brand-new, the cabin interior has that classic rustic feel. It's cozy yet at the same time, provides all the space you and your family need to spread out and enjoy yourselves. We absolutely love this cabin and our hope is that you will love it too.
