Pleasant cottage in the heart of Basque country

Come to change in our pretty cottage in the heart of the Basque Country.

It is located a few minutes walk from Saint jean port and its beautiful citadel Vauban, Spain and its famous ventas the reduced tax rates, at the foot of the mountain and hiking trails, 50 kilometers of the ocean.
Surrounded by green hills, the location is the ideal starting point for hikes to the mountain "Belchou" (1150 m), the forest of "Arbailles" cradle of the sources of the Bidouze or a little further into the forest of 'Iraty (more beech forest in Europe), but also to discover the wood-pigeon hunting of the first days of autumn.
You can also appreciate the quality of our excellent restaurants, Farmers of the village but also stroll on the local markets.
Our bright and spacious holiday home is 2 bedrooms and a large living room-kitchen that opens onto a green area with garden furniture and swing.
We offer a garage and a free WiFi connection.
Our animals (chickens, rabbits, sheep, turtles, dogs, cats .....) will welcome you and brighten your days.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans le gite de Maialen et jean Batiste. Nous avons trouvé un endroit magnifique en pleine nature.Nous les remercions pour leur gentillesse et leur accueil ,petites attention confiture,jus de pomme et tomates du jardin un régal et guindillas bien sûr. Le pays Basque a visité absolument.

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine dans ce gîte au calme et tout confort avec un petit jardin aménagé. Maialen et Batti sont des hôtes charmants et très discrets. Nos filles ont beaucoup apprécié les poules, les lapins et les tortues. Les alentours sont riches, nous avons pu faire de belles promenades et découvrir les produits du terroir. Allez-y sans hésiter !

Gîte confortable , propre et très agréable ( calme ,proche de la nature ). Propriétaires très sympathiques , discrets bien que leur habitation soit à coté . Ils sont là s'il vous arrive un coup dur ...( panne de voiture pour nous par exemple ). Et n'oublions pas leurs animaux , le chien adorable , chats , tortues .... Nous reviendrons avec plaisir et nous recommanderons ce gîte.

Relaxing rural retreat

We honestly didn’t know what to expect when booking a holiday stay in Bunus as we didn’t know the area, but this accommodation turned out to be a very pleasant stay for our last week in France. From Bunus you can make trips to Spain, the beautiful surrounding mountains or to the coast as a day trip. Saint Jean Pied de Port was just a 15 minute drive away. There are big supermarkets there so stock up beforehand. The actual accommodation was very spacious for two but would also suit a family of four. The kitchen was fantastic: a great oven, large fridge, microwave and other electric appliances and plenty of good pots and pans. Our hosts were very friendly, offering advice and travel suggestions. They gave us some fresh eggs to start our week. The apartment is under the main house however we were not aware of any noise from above. The apartment and surrounding area was very quiet and perfect for a good nights sleep. This place was a quiet haven to come back to at the end of the day.
