The cottage was super nice. It was clean and is in an extremely convenient location. The only difficulty for us was that each night we were there we were woken up multiple times by various animals around the house. There was a rooster right outside our window that was crowing very loudly for a lot of the night. We were also awoken by what seemed to be a wild pig right outside our window. If you’re gonna stay here consider bringing ear plugs for sleeping.
This was the best vacation home ever. We most of all enjoyed sitting on the lanai and enjoying the view. The house is spacious and very well equipped. It’s only a short drive to Poipu Beach and a 10-minute walk to Koloa, which offers some nice souvenir shopping, restaurants and grocery store. The roosters woke us early every day as they live right outside the master bedroom, but we didn’t mind that too much. Definitely recommend this place!
Located near a superb typical village, this villa is very well equipped, quiet (except the alarm clock in the rooster song) and allows you to quickly access the many wonderful places of the island.
Essential car.
Situated right outside of old Koloa town and away from the hustle and bustle of all the resorts made it the perfect place to stay. The cottage was stocked with everythjng you'd need for your vacation--full kitchen, cookware, beach towels, goggles, etc. Highly recommend and would book again when I the island dueing my next visit.
By far, one of the best places we’ve stayed because of its rustic charm, ample space, good cozy vibes. This place was a wonderful experience to disconnect from it all and have some tranquility. It is a great property for families, and fairly close to a lot of the great hotspots, but without the crowds. Would definitely recommend anyone and look forward to returning soon.
Residential property, just what we were looking for in Koloa
We loved the cottage, location, fact that was in a residential neighborhood was a plus. We’ve stayed in the resort areas in the past and nothing compared to the location. Extremely quiet, clean, peaceful. Will return
Loved this home. Quiet neighborhood. Very close to Koloa and Poipu Beach. Willi was very accommodating and easy to work with. Would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful place to spend a relaxing vacation! Located away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches and large resorts, yet still extremely convenient. Rooms were clean, kitchen well-stocked, even better than described. Yes - we were woken up at 5am by the neighborhood rooster the first day, but had grown kinda fond of him by the end.
We had an amazing time staying at the cottage in Koloa. Willi is an wonderful host and the check-in/check-out procedures were easy. Our daughters loved that they had their own bathroom adjacent to their room. The whole house was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The location was close enough to get to places, but far enough to get away from the noisy street. We can't wait to return next year!
This is a totally esthetically pleasing cottage in simple yet ample furnishings and decor. The lanai is especially wonderful with its views of the hills and inviting seating. We also appreciated the location of this property. It felt secluded, but was only a couple minutes away from the town of Koloa and just a few minutes more to Poipu Beach and all the other spots we wanted to see while on this part of the island. We would return here in a heartbeat!
The pictures really don't do this place justice.. The open space, natural lighting, and overall decorative ambience made this little cottage the perfect home away from home! Willi and Tony were sweet and very responsive to any questions we had. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Kauai!
Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us!
Our stay at the cottage was absolutely wonderful. It was away from the hustle of town, but an easy drive to get places. The open air concept was wonderful and we enjoyed the horses/cows behind us as well as puppy love from Loki. Even the 'local' rooster we got used to - we just crowed back and he got quiet.
We will definitely recommend this rental to anyone wanting to visit and stay in a great place away from the madness of the resorts.

Clean, quiet and so comfortable
We loved the Hale Kipa, it was a wonderful place to stay. Close to town yet tucked back in a beautiful lush garden setting with amazing mountain views. The owners live next door- Willi is very sweet and happy to help if needed otherwise they let you have your privacy. It was just perfect for the two of us, but with 2 bathrooms (and really 2 bedrooms) it's perfect for another couple or 2 kids. You have everything you need here to make one feel at home. We hope to come back Mahalo

Charming cottage
Our family of 5 really enjoyed the charming cottage. It was tucked back into a quiet driveway. Very charming. The screened patio was the family favorite spot for morning breakfast. There is a wonderful view of the garden and mountains in the distance. Small town of Koala is only minutes away. There was plenty of snorkeling masks and gogles.
Couldn't have asked for a better place in Kauai.
This vintage cottage has gorgeous views of the mountains with a rural feel and 10 minutes from Poipu. The screened porch in the mornings was lovely and very relaxing.
We had a few hiccups during our stay with plumbing and a broken ceiling fan during very hot weather. The cottage doesn't have A.C. so be prepared for warm afternoons during summer. The owner fixed the problems over a few days so we appreciate her quick attention.

Absolutely perfect.
This property captures the quiet and peaceful charm of the Kauai I recall from my childhood. The owners were wonderful and this property was very private and peaceful. In fact 23 other members of my family stayed in the Poipu area at various resort hotels, and everyone of them who visited us wanted to stay at Hale Kipa. It was very clean, had all the conveniences of home, and the lanai can only be described as heavenly. Close enough that all the Poipu area beaches and restaurants were only a couple of minutes away by car, yet in the mornings and evenings we could relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the island without feeling like tourists. Thanks Diane (Willi) for sharing Hale Kipa with us, we hope to return soon.
As other's have said, the online pics don't do this property justice. Its so private, so lush and peaceful. Yet, at the same time, walking distance to Old Town Koloa. There is a huge plot of land right outsude the front door with a few horses and cows...there is the sweetest dog that lives next door, mamed "Low-key "! He comes and visits daily. There is a screened in Lanai, we ate every meal out there, its heavenly! This place is a place you can kick off your shoes and not worry about wet bathing suits ruining furniture. Willi and Tony are the kindest host's! Theres plenty of sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner, etc. The grocery store is also walking distance...the only thing we could've bought was paper plates, but just used the glass dishes provided. We will definitely recommend this cottage and we will be back soon!
We have a 20-month old and were looking for a place with more space and amenities than a hotel and this was perfect for our budget. Our daughter slept in the provided pack n play in the second bedroom while we occupied the primary bedroom. Each evening we enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch feeling the breeze, listening to the sounds of the night (including the wildlife), and watching the geckos climb around. In the mornings we enjoyed hearing the roosters and other songbirds. The house was extremely clean and very well stocked with all the necessities: coffee maker, cookware, Tupperware, etc., cooler, tote bags, even a plethora of toiletries and bug sprays, and many beach items. Having a washer and dryer in the house was perfect. The fans were powerful and worked very well. We were comfortable here and made ourselves at home! The location is very convenient for quickly getting to the beaches or shopping in Poipu or dinner in old town Koloa, and the house itself served as a great base for our longer days of driving to the north shore and to Waimea Canyon. We mostly kept to ourselves but when minor questions arose, the hosts were very communicative and helpful.
