About this property

350 · Quiet Victorian Bungalow in downtown San Jose

Our cozy, two bedroom Victorian house is the perfect alternative to a hotel room. Our street/block is usually quiet at night. *Not suitable for events/parties.*

We're blocks away from VTA Light Rail, downtown San Jose, Japantown, SJSU, and more. The airport is a few minutes away, too.

We are a short walk or ride to the Convention Center, SAP Center, City National Civic Auditorium, SoFA District, California Theater, Guadalupe River Trail, and other points of interest.

Tesla charger available.

Our home was built in 1906 and has mostly original windows. Sound travels well! Please keep this in mind and respect our quiet hours, starting at 10pm.

This home is best suited for solo travelers, couples, business travelers/colleagues, small families, and anyone who is seeking a quiet, cozy place to stay while visiting/exploring downtown San Jose and surrounding areas. *Parties or large/loud gatherings with the potential to disturb our neighbors are not allowed.*

Our inviting space features new furnishings, a smart TV in the living room, and lots of natural light. Each room has a queen bed, and the couch can serve as a comfy space to sleep, too. The bedrooms are connected by a Jack and Jill bathroom. Additionally, there is a half bath. Washer and dryer are available for guests to use.

The spacious kitchen and dining room is great for dining in and hanging out! We have Comcast Business Class internet which is perfect if you want to get some work done during your stay.

***Please ensure all music and loud conversations are lowered past 10pm. We live in a quiet neighborhood and ask that you respect it and our neighbors.***

No parties/events are allowed. Guests who violate this rule will be asked to leave.

Guests have access to the entire house and front yard, and share our backyard with the Airbnb guests staying in the casita behind the house. Please be considerate of other guests and my awesome neighbors.

We live next door and are available at anytime if you need something. We can be reached via the Airbnb app or by calling us, too.

You might see me walking around the yard, probably doing yard work or tending to animals. I sometimes have my dogs Stan or Kismet with me. Please let me know if you are uncomfortable with dogs so I can keep them inside.

Our home is located closely to everything in downtown San Jose: Convention Center, City Hall, SJC Airport, SJSU, Japantown, Civic Auditorium, SAP Center, and more are all a very short distance away.

We have another Airbnb on the property and live next door, so you might see people walking down the driveway. We are home most of the day if you have any questions or need something!

Downtown is very walkable, but there are always Lime or Bird scooters on our street to rent, or Ford Go Bikes located one block east. We are in between the St. James and Japantown/Ayers Light Rail Stations. Or, take a Lyft/Uber anywhere you need to go!

If you ride your bike, we strongly encourage you to park it inside. Ask me about off-street motorcycle parking. Tesla charger is available. Street parking is free and usually easy to find. Please note street sweeping days as posted.

Please talk to me first before hosting additional guests. If you are bringing visitors that are not on the reservation, you must let me know. No more than ten people are allowed in the house at anytime, and no one is allowed to stay the night that isn't included in the reservation. I live next door; please respect our home and its rules.

There is no on site parking, however there is plenty of street parking. Please note the street sweeping signs on both sides of the street. On Mondays, park on our side to avoid a ticket. On Tuesdays, park across the street to avoid a ticket.

We have chickens in the backyard! They occasionally squawk when laying an egg, but this doesn't last long.
No parties or loud events allowed. No noise or music is allowed past 10pm. Please move all conversations indoors past 10pm. Please respect our home, neighborhood, and our awesome neighbors. Violators will be asked to leave.

Please be considerate of our other Airbnb guests in the casita in the backyard and our neighbors.

Please wash any dishes used or place them in the dishwasher/run dishwasher if full.

Keep windows and doors closed when heater is on.

If you fill up the trash, simply bag it up and leave it at the bottom of the back stairs. Extra bags are in the cabinet.

Throw all used towels in bathtub.

Comfortable Retreat
Nicely updated, comfortable home within walking distance of downtown San Jose. Japantown is also within walking distance and includes multiple restaurant options. The house is well furnished and the backyard provides some nice options to spend time outside. Great communication from the host.

Great location
This was our location for our San Francisco and PCH touring. It is minutes from the SJ airport and considering California traffic, was easy access to all of our go to spots. Flora provided a great place to stay! She has two casitas on the property which are super cute and the shared backyard was so cool with the cacti and neat seating. I definitely recommend! Additionally, we felt safe in this up and becoming historical neighborhood. If you like culture and diversity, this is your place!! It’s worth it!

About the host

Host profile image
My name is Flora and I am a born and raised San Jose native. I grew up blocks away from this property and currently live next door. I would love to share my favorite local eateries, coffee shops, hidden gems, and more!

Why they chose this property

This home was my first home, and I have put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into making it the cute and comfortable place it is today. I am super proud of my home and I love my neighborhood. I'd love to share it with you.

What makes this property unique

Our home was built in 1906 and it has a lot of original features like crown molding and windows, but also has many modern touches like a recently updated kitchen and new furnishings. Enjoy the beautiful succulent garden, say hello to my pet chickens that roam the yard, and stay minutes away from many places of interest in downtown San Jose.

Please note that the backyard is shared and you might run into me, my family, or other guests. It is usually pretty quiet and empty though.
