We had such a great stay! The house was clean, well equipped and perfectly located for site seeing across the Bay Area. The host was friendly and always available if we had questions. Thanks for sharing your space with us! We had a wonderful stay.
The property is newly renovated so that was nice. Love the front outside area. Was a nice fenced in place for the kids to play and adults to hang out and talk. The house is very small, especially bathrooms, but did the job. The only thing I didn’t like was the cleaning fee but house wasn’t as clean as I’d like for the money. If you look under beds and behind furniture / crib I had to clean really well. Lots of dust / dog hair. Cleaners need to do a nice deep clean for the amount of a cleaning fee.
The home itself was immaculately clean. Our check in experience was very welcoming. Kien's instructions and brief messages all over the home were super helpful. Within an hour of entering we felt like we knew the home and the neighborhood. Even though I was occupied with the wedding my family were able to enjoy the hot tub, beautiful sunsets and the outdoor patio for family dinners. We stayed here for 10 days (originally planned for 7 but the host graciously let us extend our stay) and my family enjoyed staying at Rancho Ruby way more than my own home. I would highly recommend Rancho Ruby for any visitors or local who are looking to host events or just enjoy the best the bay has to offer <3 best of luck to Kien and I hope everyone's experience here is as amazing as ours was.
This hilltop home was a perfect fit for our work crew of five adults for two weeks. Kien has done an amazing job renovating his home to maximize the beautiful view and large outdoor spaces. Everything has been updated very tastefully and they didn’t skimp on comfort. From the plush couch and chairs, large beds, new windows and direct heat and air units to the little touches like robes and house shoes it is a winner. The kitchen is large and open and the bathrooms are clean and modern. They even provided a couple of dog beds, toys and treats. There was ample parking for our trucks and great patio furniture, games and a spa for lounging after work. The succulent garden in back was a surprising treat. Kien was quick with communication and easy to work with. Even though we were near tons of shopping and restaurants, the location of this home made it feel peaceful and removed from the hustle of the city. I recommend this home for work or a family get away. We would definitely re-book!

About the host
Hosted by Kien
Spent most of my life in California and have been to over 30 countries and counting so I know what it takes to design a space that is comfortable for traveling. I work as a designer in tech but enjoy designing physical spaces in my free time.
Why they chose this property
The home sits just right outside the city line and is nestled in the east foothills or Evergreen Valley. It feels remote yet accessible to all the big city amenities.
Evergreen Valley is considered by many residents to be a peaceful neighborhood that has parks with breathtaking 360° views of the city, world-class shopping centers and many local attractions and eateries that showcase the diversity of the city. Everything else is within close driving distance and there are many attractions throughout the rest of the Bay Area.
What makes this property unique
I spent a year fixing this old ranch home to turn it into a modern sanctuary loved by many guests.
