Meadow Rock Farm is a timber frame and made of white, red, and pin oak beams that were harvested in the Mid-Atlantic area. Since the house is a true timber frame, all of the beams are created with only wood joinery and secured with hardwood pegs. The beams are a highlight in the house creating very large open spaces.
The house features a spacious great room and dining areas with the ceilings soaring to 30 feet to the third-floor loft. The fireplace is made of Maryland flagstone on the first floor. The kitchen includes a commercial range and a walnut bar top that is 2 inches thick with wood that had been in storage since the Depression.
The house is filled with country antiques and family heirlooms. It has 6 bedrooms, comfortably sleeping 20 people and 4 full bathrooms. The King, Queen, and Double sized beds feature a feather mattress topper, 100% cotton sheeting, and down comforters. There is a third-floor loft TV viewing area with DVD Player, a 2nd-floor game room, and a TV located on the first floor with Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN. There is wireless WiFi throughout the house.
The cedar exterior of the house compliments the woodland setting. Patios of stone and brick overlook the meadow and a fire pit. There are extensive gardens that include roses, perennials, succulents, hostas, and a kitchen herb garden. We encourage our guests to use the vegetables and herbs when they are in season.
We have onsite parking for guests.
Guest access: This listing is for up to 20 overnight guests in the main house (1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors). The basement and garage are private.
There is an additional fee for over 20 guests with a $25 per night per guest. Please confirm your number of guests.
Micro-events, up to 50 guests, require an additional fee, in addition to a 3-night minimum stay. Event fee is collectd after house booking.
Interaction with guests: We give our guests space, but we are available when needed. Please text or call us on your arrival so we can give you a full tour of the home. Then, we are available as needed, since we live next door. We usually stop at the house a time or two during your stay.
Other things to note: We provide linens and towels for your stay. The bathrooms are stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hairdryer.
The kitchen is furnished with dishes to serve 20, plus regular pots/pans, utensils, etc. In addition to traditional coffee makers, there is also a Keurig for your convenience and you may bring K-cups. We have stocked the pantry with herbs and spices, sugar and flour, vegetable oil, and vinegar.

We have televisions on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors with Smart TV capabilities, a DVD player and assorted movies. There also is wireless WiFi throughout the house, and a Bluetooth speaker located in the dining room. Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN are provided.
The fireplace may be used in the winter, as well as spring and fall, depending on the outside temperature. There is also a fire pit and Weber grill for your usage.

* Laundry baskets are provided for bed linens, towels, and bathmats, and return to the laundry room.

About the host
Hosted by Jill Walls

We built Meadow Rock Farm in 1994 and served as our family home until 2007. In 2011 it became an organic farm and is now available for vacation rental and micro-event venue.
Why they chose this property
Built as a custom timber frame and made of white, red, and pin oak harvested from the Mid-Atlantic region, the house is a true timber frame. All of the beams are created with only wood joinery and secured with hardwood pegs. As a highlight of the house, the beams form expansive spaces with over 3,500 square feet of living space.
What makes this property unique
The house is filled with country antiques and family heirlooms. There are large open spaces for family and friends to gather. The cedar exterior of the house compliments the woodland setting. There are extensive gardens that include roses, perennials, a kitchen garden, and guests are encouraged to enjoy the herbs during their stay.
