Welcome to Bear River Vineyards! Housed within our winery is a well appointed guest room, offering all the amenities needed for a relaxing experience. It includes a queen bed, a beautiful ensuite with heated flooring, and is equipped with a compact fridge and microwave. Free WiFi and satellite TV also included.
Comes complete with a stunning view of the vineyard and, of course, a complimentary bottle of our wine. Guests are also offered a private tour and tasting experience as part of their stay. Open seasonally from mid-June to mid-September.

Cozy and comfortable stay in Bear River

Beautiful views from the property. Room was well appointed and comfortable. Hosts were available if needed. Local coffee in the room was great!

Amazing hideaway!

Our stay has been great. Nice location to use as a base to explore the area. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. The winery tour was very interesting. Very knowledgeable tour guide who happens to be the co-owner!

Sat with my morning coffee listening to so many birds, overlooking the vineyard, then with my wine as the sun went down. Beautiful peaceful property. Suite was well-equipped with great locally roasted coffee, wine in the fridge, and comfy bed. Hostess were lovely and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A little gem worth getting to

Very welcoming hosts. Property is outstanding with the views of the vineyard. Just lovely. The room is very comfy and well appointed.The community of Bear River is also worth a visit. Highly recommend and would stay here again.

This was a beautiful place to relax in peace and quiet! A fantastic view, Darren and Sue are excellent hosts and the wine is spectacular! Take them up on the offer for the tour, they are passionate about their vineyard and their wine. You can't beat a glass of wine under the Oak Tree in the center of the vineyard.

Bear River Winery is a gem

The property is gorgeous, the wine is the best in Nova Scotia, the accommodations are lovely and the hosts are wonderful. We love Bear River Winery :)

Beautiful winery

Completely enjoyed our stay and Darren and Sue were terrific. Great spot to enjoy all the surroundings.. winery was very enjoyable to watch , their daily work schedule non stop but still very caring to there guests. Great spot to stay

Such a great find!

The accommodation is wonderful (the best bed ever!). The winery is spectacular and the hosts couldn't be more hospitable. We stayed two nights and enjoyed every minute. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in an idyllic setting!

Tranquility

A beautiful perch on the too of a steep valley with stunning views of the vineyard cascading down the valley slope. So lovely to sit out witnessing the sunset and hearing silence intermingled with bird calls. The room was spacious, well appointed and beautiful oak details. The bathroom was delightfully spacious! The old barn/winerey set up was tastefully designed. A lovely stay in Bear River!

Tranquil setting

A lovely accommodation. Great views of the vineyard and surrounding hills make for a very relaxing getaway. The hosts were so welcoming…we enjoyed our tour of their vineyard. We would definitely return if we're ever in the area again.

The Bear River location was absolutely beautiful. The aspect from the suite and the winery terrace over the valley to the slope beyond looks all the world like Burgundy. The suite is in the winery building, a converted 19th century dairy barn, and has lots of antique charm and beautifully aged wood. It was comfortably well equipped with a very comfortable bed and the hootingbofborls at night. Hosts Darren and Su were very hospitable without being at all intrusive, giving an informative tour of the winery and vineyard followed by a tasting of their delicious wines. A great base to explore the surrounding region and attractions like Port Royal, Digby, and Annapolis Royal.

Bear River winery is a must!!

The property was beautiful with amazing sunsets. The owners were a delight!! Very friendly, & hospitable. Our room had everything we needed. They made our stay very comfortable and their wine is refreshing and very tasty. We'll be back for sure.

Bear River Winery VRBO Nova Scotia

The Bear River Winery VRBO is situated in a beautiful valley overlooking the Bear River near Digby Nova Scotia. In addition to the very pleasing setting, the location is perfect for a couple who want to relax or get out to explore the Bay of Fundy side of Nova Scotia. As a bonus, the wines are excellent, and the hosts are friendly, gracious and very helpful. We would definitely stay at this property again.

We are from Nova Scotia but had followed career paths across Canada until finding this unique opportunity to follow our dreams home. We purchased Bear River Vineyards in 2017, but the winery has operated since 2005 and the first vines were planted in 1993. We are a small, family run, business that focuses on guest experience.

Why they chose this property

The guest room was on VRBO under previous ownership and received 5-star reviews. When ownership transitioned, the slate was wiped clean for VRBO reviews, but our Facebook page highlights the guest experience you can expect at Bear River Vineyards. Stunning views, and the charm of a "cottage winery" in beautiful Bear River, Nova Scotia.

What makes this property unique

No other winery in Nova Scotia, and very few elsewhere, offers the experience of staying in a guest room that is situated within the winery itself. This unique experience includes a private tour by the owner and the privacy of enjoying sunsets alone in the vineyard.
