Fabulous beach getaway

The property is lovely, well-stocked and has a beautiful view of the beach. Everything-shopping and dining were close. Property owner was very responsive to any messages. We will be back!

Worst homeaway rental experience we have ever had->dated and dingy condo-needs complete remodel job

We have rented directly through Fabi in the Capri by the Sea office 7 other times.She didn't have any one bedrooms for our dates, so we rented this condo.What a huge mistake! I am a faithful reader of reviews, and I don't know how I missed the last review that gave them 1 star also.Maybe it wasn't up when I was checking the reviews.This place is dark, dated, and dirty. I told the owner that it needs a complete remodel and asked her when the last time was that they actually had gone in it?!! When we saw mold on the shower curtain, and bathroom ceiling, that took the cake. We wanted out of the contract and asked for a refund.She said that they normally require a 3 night stay,but that she would refund the money if we could be out by 11am the next day,leave the place in the condition it was in upon arrival, and after she inspected it (really?!! maybe she should inspect it more often and carefully) Fabi didn't have anything available at the Capri,and we knew it would be difficult to find a place on that short of notice.So,we opted to pay the change fee for an earlier flight home and had to stay 3 nights.They definitely do not take pride of ownership like the other owners of places we have rented do. This place has almost original everything form the 1970's when it was built. I had asked her before we rented if there were updates that had been made and she just hadn't posted pictures on the the home away site, and she said there had been. Maybe the TV's!! It is not a "Haven Away"!! It wasn't a pleasant place to be-we couldn't enjoy relaxing like we could at the other rentals. We are from Washington State and the only place we travel to, and rent, are in Pacific Beach.We had just been at a 4 bdr. house the week before with the entire family, and then my husband and I were looking forward to staying for an extra week directly on the beach to celebrate our retirement.We had stayed at that house previously and they look after their guests, unlike these people!I Shouldn't have had to pay the cleaning fee because it wasn't clean upon arrival! After sending her pictures of the mold,other dirty objects,other safety issues,and bedroom TV not working,she didn't even volunteer to remedy the situation!Hard to get WIFI going too.I had to write to her twice to ask her if she had mailed the refund check,and deposit. They don't take payments through Home Away so we didn't know what recourse we had if she didn't send it.I have lots of pictures!! Don't waste your money.

We love this location and this building. This unit was clean and ready for us upon arrival and we had no need for any other items, expect our own personal things!! There was even coffee avaliable in the unit! We would recommend this unit to others!! We really appreciated the beach necessities, and were so glad that was provided, as we flew in from Washington State!! Might reserve again in the future!! My only complaint...there should be a doormat inside the units front door, (not just on the outside) so we can wipe our shoes and sandals off. And perhaps a shoe rack as well...that would be helpful! But thats just a small thing! Thank You!!!

Close to everything. No car needed. Views of sunset are pretty. Tight living quarters for a family with pre teens. Check kitchen for cooking items before buying food to make sure you have the supplies needed.

We absolutely loved our stay, the accommodation had everything we needed and more. We cooked most evenings and weren’t missing any utensils. There was a great selection of beach essentials for us and the kids, which we were extremely pleased about as we spent most of our time at the beach. The views were spectacular, nothing beat waking up and going to bed looking at that view. The location is great with beach access right in front of the property car park, we booked this accommodation as it had access to a pool too but as there was everything we needed for the beach we didn’t actually use the pool. The beds were comfy and there was a travel cot for our youngest. 100% would recommend staying here to anybody looking. The hosts were great at communicating and really quick to respond. Thank you!

Beautiful condo and perfect location!

Our family had an amazing week at the Haven in Pacific Beach! The view and location is hard to beat, you are in the northern part of PB but it’s quieter and still walkable to many restaurants and shops. Beach access is steps away down the main cliff. Property is easy to navigate and parking was easy but a little tight. The kitchen is well stocked, we were able to make our meals and enjoy the view from the dining area. The biggest highlight of this place is the floor to ceiling views of the ocean. We loved sitting near the windows and watching the waves. Even saw dolphins in the ocean from the condo. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing time at the beach!

50th Birthday Getaway

Working with Nancy to book the property was so easy. She responded quickly and was always helpful. The condo is exactly as advertised on the listing. Million dollar views doesn’t give it justice. We enjoyed our time immensely. Highly recommended.

Spectacular!

The condo was on the 2nd floor and the view of the ocean was amazing! It was the perfect amount of space for my daughter and I. The only inconvenience was that they were working on the elevators, so they were a little slow, but it is understandable that maintenance is needed.This was our first time visiting San Diego! The area was great, there are several eating and coffee cafes within walking distance, a car is not needed to get around. We stumbled upon a wonderful coffee/breakfast place called The Drift Cafe the first day. The food was delicious and so was the coffee. Check it out if you are staying at this condo.The weather was a little cool, but way nicer than back home in Indiana! We needed a sweatshirt in the morning and evening, but it was sunny almost every day of our stay. It was a very nice location, easy access to the beach and there were many surfers to watch while sitting at the beach. There were shops and eating places as you walked along the path!We also went to the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, a short drive from the condo. It did not disappoint. They were both fantastic! The highlight of our trip was a whale/dolphin watching sunset cruise. The sunset was spectacular and we saw a rare sighting of false killer whales. The crew was super excited because they said they had never seen these on other cruises!I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend booking it for your next vacation in San Diego.

The perfect beachside getaway!

We loved everything about this stay! Right on the ocean so we could watch surfers and dolphins, in Pacific Beach where there's great restaurants, and great accommodations so we could sleep well and cook some meals. We will be back!
