About this property
Ridgeline Retreat and Accommodations; located in beautiful western Montana
Unplug and enjoy a relaxing retreat at our off-grid log cabin in the serene Montana wilderness. The cabin sits on a secluded ridge, surrounded by Forest Service land with endless recreation opportunities. You will feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life but are a convenient 15 minute drive to downtown Missoula and MSO International Airport . Montana Snowbowl Ski Area is only a few miles away, offering year round activities.
We found this one of a kind property in 2016 and jumped in head first at the opportunity to live off the grid in the Montana wilderness. The cabin was constructed in 1987, our birth year, signaling it was meant to be. Through several seasons of blood, sweat and tears we continue to make this place our own with numerous improvements to the cabin and grounds.
We are always pursuing the challenge of minimizing our footprint. The property runs entirely from renewable energy with the recent installation of an 1800 watt solar array. Water is pumped on site and wood is used for the main source of heat.
The cabin was recently fully remodeled with all the creature comforts one could hope to find. The ground level apartment features a king size bed, full kitchen, spacious living/dining room and bathroom with a shower. Visitors will enjoy a picturesque view into the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area through oversized windows in the bedroom and living room. Wood fired sauna and hot tub available depending on the season. Beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed with a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the Missoula valley.
If we are not out enjoying all that Montana has to offer we can be found living upstairs with our boys Nash and Finn.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
- Please be mindful of water and energy consumption. The cabin is off the grid, which means we heat with wood, pump our own water and use solar panels/generator for electricity.
- We have two young children. There is always a potential for noise. We do our best to minimize disruptions. There is a white noise maker provided.
- We DO have high speed wifi.
-TV and AC are not available. The cellar is always a comfortable temperature so AC is not necessary.
- During winter months all wheel/4 wheel drive is highly recommended. - Huck and Bridges are our new additions to the family. They are harmless and young Golden Retrievers. Please be mindful and drive slowly.
