Charming summer cottage with everything you need for a large group of family or friends. The Munson Cottage is a unique 150+ year old summer home that has been in our family for three generations. Nestled in the woods, yet only a 5-minute walk to the Colony Beach and breakwater. Dock Square in downtown Kennebunkport is just 1 mile away.
The Munson Cottage has six bedrooms and three bathrooms to sleep fifteen comfortably. Linens and towels (including beach towels) are provided. There is a working fireplace in the living room, a large screened in porch, a dining room, and a full kitchen with a glass top electric stove and an antique propane cast iron stove for heat. The large Dining Room has plenty of room for your extended family and friends.
We rent by the week in the Summer and by the night with a 3-night minimum in the shoulder season. The Munson Cottage is a summer house with no central heat. There is no central A/C but each room has a fan to use as needed. Pets are welcomed!

About the host
Hosted by Chris Munson
The Munson brothers (Stuart and Chris) spent their summers in the Munson Cottage beginning in 1968. They made lifelong friends, held summer jobs, and came to think of Kennebunkport as their second home. Many extended family members would gather in K-port each summer, spilling over into local hotels to enjoy time together in beautiful Maine. Their father Bob was the heart and soul of the Munson Cottage for decades until his passing in 2011. He would drive up from Virginia each May to ready the house, weed his rock garden and daylilies, and enjoy time with family and friends. He would return in September to enjoy the changing season in Maine and prepare the house to be closed for the winter months. The house continues to be a place for the brothers, their families and friends to gather in the summer to make special memories.
Why they chose this property
The Munson Cottage is over 150 years old and has been lovingly maintained by the Munsons for decades. Great care has been taken to retain the charm and character of our summer home. We hope that other families will make the same lifelong memories that we have made at the Munson Cottage with family and friends.
What makes this property unique
Antique cast iron propane stove in kitchen that still works! We use it to take the chill off the early summer and fall mornings. The large screened porch is always the favorite gathering spot, and the large dining room has plenty of room for the whole gang!
