Splendid apartment with magnificent views

My husband and I enjoyed a very relaxing fortnight at Gite des Pierres Levée, dining every day on the garden terrace with magnificent views of the Grand Colombier and surrounding beautiful countryside. The apartment was very clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped, with everything you would want. Bernadette and Laurent were very kind and helpful making sure that we had everything we needed and even taking us to a local wine cellar, so we could buy some of the local Bugey Brut to take home. We were able to use the garage to store our bikes as the surrounding area is great for cycling. There are also great walks and a lovely swimming lake locally.

Cosy place with fantastic views

We hadden een goed verblijf. De locatie ligt op een rustig plekje in de schaduw van de kerk. Voorzieningen als restaurants, BIO winkel en bakkerijen zijn vlakbij, evenals prachtige bezienswaardigheden als watervallen de Grand Columbier. Zeer fijne gastvrouw

Un séjour très agréable

Nous avons séjourné chez Bernadette au mois de Juillet. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans sa maison, fraîche à l’intérieur lorsqu’il faisait très chaud et de son jardin où nous avons pu prendre nos repas tout en profitant de la nature environnante. Idéalement située, nous avons visité la région avec aisance en suivant les conseils partagés par notre hôte.

Superbe gîte et formidable hôtesse

Bernadette nous a accueillis dans sa propriété avec beaucoup de gentillesse et bons conseils car elle aime sa région. Le gîte était impeccable, très bien équipé et confortable. Le jardin super entretenu donne sur un paysage reposant au possible. Merci Bernadette !

Juste beau panorama

Accueil rapide de la propriétaire. Logement propre mais aucun placard ni meuble pour ranger nos vêtements. Grande déception : les cloches de l'église (au pied du gîte) qui sonnent dès 7h !!! Mauvais rapport qualité-prix.

Quelle déception Antoinette !! Nous avons eu un contact agréable pendant votre séjour, vous sembliez ravie du lieu , de la terrasse agréable avec une vue magnifique, vous y avez même accueilli votre famille... oui, nous sommes situés près de l’église comme noté dans l’annonce et visible sur les photos... pas de mauvaise surprise ! Oui , c’est un petit village traditionnel avec les sons de la campagne: cloches, vaches, chiens, coq et poules , tout ce qui fait le charme, très loin des bruits de la ville ! Nous ne sommes pas les maîtres des cloches, nous ne pouvons pas agir, alors pourquoi nous sanctionner ? Pour les rangements vous disposiez d’une pièce entière, la pièce du billard (non mentionnée dans l’annonce) pour organiser vos affaires , il y a des cintres à disposition et une commode.... Mon but et mon plaisir sont que les locataires quittent le gîte heureux ....

Zeer rustig gelegen gite, met heel mooi uitzicht om grand colombier.

De foto's geven de gite en haar omgeving correct weer. Nabij mogelijkheid voor paravente en bezoek aan meer, aanraders. Goede vakatie gehad, vriendelijke gastvrouw.

Tranquility in the mountains

We had two really excellent weeks at the apartment in the house in St Martin de Bavel. Although we enjoyed some agreeably quiet relaxing times in the garden looking out into the dramatic vista of Grand Colombier with a cold glass of local wine, we spent most of our time out and about. The surrounding countryside is dramatic, the ViaRhona cycle route is unchallenging (unless you do it as we chose to in 37° heat in which case it was extremely challenging) and there are many large and small towns to visit from Lyon to Annecy to Chembery to Chanaz. Above all there are several lakes in which to bathe on hot days and experiment with canoeing or a small electric boat: Virieu. Bourget, Annecy. These are great fun. Bernadette and Laurence are perfect hosts, giving us space to enjoy the surroundings but helping out where needed. I would recommend this destination extremely highly.

270 degree views of beautiful French countryside overlooking the nearby mountains. Perfect place to have a relaxed holiday. House was very clean and had everything you could need during your stay. Bernadette and her Husband were very friendly and great to talk to. Would highly recommend!

Grossräumige, modern und neu sanierte Landwohnung inkl. eigener Billardtisch im Hause, grosszügiger Garten zur eigenen Benutzung (inkl. Holzkohlengrill). Wunderschön auf einer Anhöhe gelegen mit unverbauter Sicht auf die umliegende Umgebung, insbesondere auf den Grand Colombier. In der Nähe der Wohnung befindet sich ein schöner Badeweiher. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen, zumal die Gastgeber sehr sympathisch und hilfsbereit sind.

La maison est splendide, au pied de l'église dans un joli petit village. Le jardin offre une vue magnifique sue le Grand Colombier. Nous n'avons manqué de rien, tout est bien agencé pour deux. La région permet plein de ballades et de découvertes : lacs, vignes, cascades. Les proprios sont très discrets.

Wir hatten super schöne und entspannte Tage in der süßen Ferienwohnung. Der Blick aus dem Fenster und von den vielen Sitzplätzen im Garten auf die Umgebung ist wirklich zu jeder Tageszeit wunderschön. Auch die Umgebung hat uns sehr gefallen. Wirklich eine schöne Landschaft, mit tollen Seen und Wasserfällen. Vielen lieben Dank nochmal an unsere sehr herzlichen Vermieter Bernadette und Laurent für die sehr schöne Ferienunterkunft!

Nous avons passé un excellent moment ! court mais excellent. Honnêtement, je ne m'attendais pas à ça et c'est mieux que ce que j'imaginais ! car vous avez plusieurs pièces, une pièce cuisine, SDB avec douche, chambre avec un lit très confortable et une couette au TOP et une grande TV ainsi qu' une salle à côté de la chambre avec une table de billard et des jeux de société dans la placard. Endroit propre et neuf. Le jardin et le paysage sont magnifiques ! Nous remercions également Bernadette et son mari pour leur gentillesse. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir et je recommande vivement cet endroit :)

Lovely quiet place with stunning garden and views!

We had a wonderful time in this lovely quiet appartment. The garden is big and beautiful with stunning views of the Columbier. It's a great place to unwind. Hospitality of Bernadette is great; lots of privacy, but she makes sure you're ok. We even found a basket of the best fresh vegetables from Bernadette's vegetable garden for us. For big (Dutch) people the bed is on the small side though. The area is great, not a lot of tourism, but surroundings are beautiful for walking, hiking, cycling and just enjoying French countryside. Closeby there's a perfect little lake to go for a swim. All in all we can recommend this nice and cosy place! We thouroughly enjoyed it!
