I have stayed at many VBRO sites and this one was the one I never wanted to leave. Beautifully situated on Lake Lay, the home was inviting and warm, but not pretentious - it felt like HOME. The owners were easy to communicate with, answered all questions in a timely manner and super helpful. The location is perfect - just far away enough to feel like a retreat, but close enough to great food and other fun. Oak Mnt State Park not too far, and highly recommend a trip to that. The beds were so comfortable, plenty of pillows, and the bathrooms were swoon-worthy. Kitchen fully-stocked, furniture inviting. We paddle boarded on the lake (we brought our own, but they have kayaks), rested and read on the screen porch, and did yoga on the dock. It was a perfect retreat and we can't wait to return.
Awesome location. Home is decorated and set up very well for families. Address and codes sent via text promptly, clear instructions, no surprises. Would definitely stay here again.
Lake Chillin' at its finest is a beautiful comfortable home with plenty of room for everyone! Be prepared to do some LAKE CHILLIN' with plenty of peace and quiet and bird watching and listening!
Most in our group needed this getaway to relax and enjoy the planned intinerary and everyone did JUST THAT!
The hosts have provided a wonderful home at a great value and are wonderful to work with! We are looking to book with them again!
We had a great time! We were in town for a baseball tournament. We had 3 families staying at the house and we had plenty of room for everyone.
Boys played cornhole - pac man machine - and chess - as well as cards around the big dining table. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs one night. Everything we needed was there. AC worked great - veey cool in late July.
One of our families pulled a pontoon boat up. We were able to launch it from the local boat ramp easily and dock it at the house. We pulled the boys on tubes everyday - they had a blast.
Everything was great! Good spot for family getaway for fishing and boating.
The only thing that we would add is maybe some directions for the lake. There are a lot of trees that stick up that are hard to see. There is a marked channel- but getting to the channel can be challenging. But our experienced boated was able to maneuver through the trees.
Again - loved it! Great house and great location!
We had a great time at the lake house. It was perfect for our family and the groomsmen for my son's wedding. All the beds were King or queens- No bunk beds- that is a hard feature to find with a place that sleeps this many people. Porch sitting with coffee on a quiet morning is tranquil after a busy wedding day. The homeowners are great to work with and were quick to respond to any messages we sent before and during our stay. They updated the pictures from when we book and they phenomenal now. You can tell there has been a lot of love and hard work poured out into this house. We highly recommend this property! *Note- we did not make use of any of the water activities because it was still chilly in April*
This was a perfect choice for our four person trip to sites along the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Most of the courses that we played (9 total) were around an hour away, a couple were closer to two hours, but we able to play at multiple sites without loading up the suitcases and all our gear every day or two. We each had our own bedroom and plenty of space. Since we were golfing every day we didn’t get to enjoy just hanging out and relaxing lakeside, but it would be a great spot for that as well. Might try that next time!
Amazing experience! What a wonderful property ! Great communication with host when needed. Wonderful views and very relaxing setting. Tons of fun for the kids and great family area around the kitchen during meal preps. Definately 5 star experience!!!
We had such a great time at Lay Lake Chillin’! The home is very spacious and it’s a really good lay out for families. Plenty of activity options - kayaks, canoe, corn hole, swim mat, video game, fire pits… or relaxing options - swing, hammock, rockers/gliders on the porch. HUGE shower in master bath. HUGE yard and pet friendly. Kids loved the s’mores kits welcome package. Michael was quick to respond to all communications. We will look forward to going back soon!
Perfect location for our family gathering to celebrate our son’s graduation. The house easily accommodated 12. Able to accommodate 4 more on air mattress and futon. Nice quiet spot on a beautiful lake. Had lots of possibilities for recreation for all ages- swimming, boating, fishing, games, porch sitting, grilling, fire pit, television, etc. Country store and restaurants within 15 minutes. Grocery shopping within 30 minutes.
This place is absolutely amazing even the second time around. My family and I really enjoyed the peace and serenity of sitting by the lake enjoying the view and fishing. I would like to thank the owners for sharing a peace of their heaven with my family. We’ve already booked our next trip.
See you soon!
House was fantastic. Perfect for our family during spring break!

Living just an hour away, we love to enjoy the lake. We love sitting on the back porch, reading a book and listening to the lake sounds all around us. When we're not at home or at the lake we love to travel and have visited nearly every state in the country.
Why they chose this property
Lay Lake is quiet compared to most lakes. It's also a great fishing lake which we love to do. Spring Creek (the area of the lake where the house is) is a great area to avoid busy boat traffic and just enjoy. It's a good place for recreation but it's also some of the best fishing on the lake. Our street is a single street with a cul-de-sac and we're located at the very end so we don't have any vehicle traffic to worry about.
What makes this property unique
With nearly and acre and a half and 450 feet of waterfront (as well as a flat lot) we have one of the best lots on the lake. Come see for yourself and we're sure you'll agree. We also have an open-plan foorplan giving everyone a chance to be in the same room together. What better way to spend time together than to actually be in the same room together!
