About Chris Orrell
De Waterkant is an historic part of Cape Town and Dixon and Loader streets appear on the earliest maps of Cape Town. I have always wanted to be a part of this artistic community and when the site for this property became available we jumped at the chance. The existing property was a sad modern (1970's) two bed property. We managed to obtain a demolition permit that enabled us to develop a property sympathetic with the historic architecture style of the community.

Why Chris Orrell chose De Waterkant
Cape Town is home although we currently are doing the Expat thing. Simply put Cape Town is one of those special places. It has a presence, a culture, a history and a natural beauty that is hard to beat. I advise all guests to get up early and climb Lions Head early in their visit - its 45 min invigorating walk from the parking spot. Start when it is dark and watch the sun rise. This will give you an appreciation of the beauty of this city. Then walk down to one of the many artisan coffee shops in the city centre - a perfect start to the day.
