This was a tiny, quaint cabin in a lovely, historic, small town along the Ohio River SE of Cincinnati with a working ferry over to the Ohio side.. It is located next door to both the local arts center and the finest restaurant around, The Bee Hive. Breakfast across the street at the General Store is a hoot with all the local color.
I enjoyed my little cabin staying in Augusta. The cabins bathroom an kitchen is upstairs so it was rather hard on a elder. But overall I enjoyed the cabin and I enjoyed my stay and hope to return again soon.

The cabin was delightful. It takes you back to 1800's living.
The two beds and bathroom are upstairs. There is a very small kitchen counter with sink. There is no stove but there is a small refrigerator.
If you are handicapped and/or cannot handle stairs, this is not the place for you. The stairs are very steep and difficult to climb if you have any trouble going up or down stairs.
Our mom’s parents are from Augusta. Appelman and Federer’s. We came back to see our family history. Met so many great people along the way. My brother and his wife stayed at the adjoining cabinet, we all shared the hot tub. The location is great, we walked all of Augusta rain or shine.
We all loved the old look and feel of our cabinet. Would come back again.

This was advertised as a 3 bedroom. I brought 5 adults with luggage to this cabin that is truly a ONE BEDROOM, with a converted closet (a room with a bed but NO CLOTHING/SUITCASE storage), and a social area with a PULLOUT bed (again no clothing/suitcase storage). Could NOT adjust temperature on ANY AC unit. There was absolutely NO way to keep 5 adults with luggage in this space. We contacted host multiple times with no response. We left the property one hour after arrival and checked into a local hotel for the week. This was a DISASTEROUS experience. It is a BEAUTIFUL property for 2 ppl or a small family ...but NEVER FOR 5 ADULTS!!! So disapointed and communication is NON EXISTENT!!!
The location was less than a block from the river and right in the center of town - even though there wasn't any excessive noise from being on the main street. The home itself was a true log cabin and incredibly comfortable as we walked in to a cozy living space with a fireplace & adorable amenities. Upstairs was the 'kitchen' which based on the pictures, I thought was going to be weird to have it in the main bedroom. But it was strategically decorated in a way that felt perfectly placed. Every single amenity you could imaging was taken into consideration. From the toiletries including qtips, make up wipes, laundry pods, iron & even extra toothbrushes if needed. The kitchen even had snacks just in case you needed a little treat. The communication with the owner was always prompt, even though we just had basic questions, nothing urgent. Couldn't be more please and hope everyone gets to experience this little gem.

Disappointed in listing and responsiveness
This cabin is great if you are just looking for a place to sleep in Augusta. It’s in a perfect location and was comfortable for my husband and I. We appreciated the snacks and bottled waters left for us. However, the cabin experience was not what I expected from the listing. The listing identifies 3 bedrooms, but the property is limited to (1) a small living room, (2) an upstairs landing ,with a bed, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink, and (3) a connected room with a bed and connecting bathroom. If you’re bringing more than two people, you won’t have privacy from one another. We were looking forward to spending time in a cabin with a fire, but discovered that the fireplace is not wood burning and contains just an electric heater. At one point in our stay, we returned from breakfast to find that our key code didn’t work. We attempted to contact the owner through the app, texting the owner, and calling her. After two hours of being locked out with no response from multiple attempts to contact the owner, we called VRBO and our code was reauthorized. I understand that mistakes happen, but we missed out on part of our vacation, and the owners didn’t make an effort to make things right.
My husband and I are from IL and just wanted a quick getaway overnight. We knew of the Augusta Distillery through friends and had been wanting to visit, so we booked this cutest little, authentic cabin downtown Augusta. What a gem!!
You won't find a better location for your visit to Augusta. The Distillery is within walking distance (a must-go) and the Beehive overlooking the river - a few steps away - is perfect for meals. We went to the General Store across the street for b'fast which was also good.
The fireplace looked original to the cabin. The sofa was comfortable and the decor made you feel at home.
Sleeping quarters, kitchenette and bathroom are up the stairs. We only used one of the beds (the one closest to the kitchenette). It was comfy - not 5 star comfy - but certainly a very good sleep.
The bathroom and kitchenette had everything we needed for our short stay and then some. Towels were fluffy and the amenities were spotless.
There was even a full-size washer and dryer in the unit. We did not need it for our short stay, so I cannot speak to the quality of operation.
Just outside the front door was a small but quaint sitting area to enjoy the nice fall evening.
The only problem we had was unlocking and locking the door. It turned out to be operator error(!) but we had never seen the type of "knob". Maybe some instruction on the knob in the booking confirmation would be helpful to others, but that is my only suggestion!
We were expecting a small kitchenette on the first floor, but the sink, microwave and refrigerator were upstairs in one of the bedrooms. Also, would have been nice to be able to check in earlier for the price of the rental. Beds we’re comfortable and clean. We never could get the tv to work even though we followed the directions to update the channels.
This was a cute cabin right in the thick of Augusta. I was able to explore a lot more than I have on previous visits to family because we actually stayed downtown. The city is very walkable with plenty of food choices. The only downside was the bunk beds pictured were not present so I had to sleep on the sleeper sofa… this worked out fine though.
We were unfortunately unable to make it last minute, our kids got sick. We reached out and were treated very nicely and professionally. We will be making this trip!
This was a great location to spend the night after spending the day boating on the Ohio River with our friends. We were able to leave our boat tied up for the night at the dock and walk a short block to the cabin for the night. It was so quaint and relaxing and had everything we needed. The main bedroom upstairs was comfortable and well equipped but I will say the second bedroom is a little tighter quarters with not much room to spread out. Our friends slept in the double bunk in the room though and said it was very comfortable. We all shared the bath upstairs and it worked out well for us. There are several places to eat within easy walking distance since we didn’t have a car to get around. We didn’t get there in time to get to the shops or winery so we are planning another trip back to the area.
This cabin and town is super cute and cozy. Liz and Travis were exceptional to any of our needs during our stay. We would highly recommend this vacation spot😊

Why they chose this property
Once you visit, you may not wish to leave! Augusta is a Mayberry sort of town with a cast of characters & always something to do.
What makes this property unique
The river is a gem in its own. Named one of the best river towns in the USA, Augusta has a ferry that serves a connector to Ohio. The simplicity of life here is unparalleled with plenty of shopping, restaurants, a distillery, and of course, 9 miles of unobstructed river views.
