About Chris Hallweaver
We built our Log Home and moved to Saddleback Lake in June of 1995 and spent two glorious years cementing our love for everything Rangeley, Maine. Our three kids are now in college and we rent our home to help with tuition bills. We are fortunate to have one of the best rentals in all of Rangeley. If your family values peace and quiet and time on a quiet motor-free lake then please plan your vacation today. Regards, Chris, Betsy, Taryn, Curtis, and Molly Hallweaver

Why Chris Hallweaver chose Rangeley
Rangeley is a true 4-season resort area. One of the few places that has it all, mountains, lakes and forests. Wildlife abounds around Saddleback Lake and it is just the perfect place to spend some quality family time. Your quintessential Maine experience.

This is a very special place. The pictures online did not do it justice... beautiful home in a very beautiful spot. Quiet and private. We will be back! Thank you!
Heaven on Saddleback Lake
This was our sixth stay at A Loon’s Call. The property is better than ever and the location is glorious.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location is beautiful, peaceful, and secluded with great views of Saddleback. The home is well cared for, clean, and packed with things to do (games, books, movies, music, etc...). We loved paddling the peaceful lake (easy access to canoes & kayaks). We saw twin fawns walk through the yard and loved watching the hummingbirds. Woke in the night to see the milky way! Lots of great hiking nearby. My family loved every minute!
Wonderful first time in Rangeley
The property was great both inside and out. We loved the quiet and privacy, the wooded walk to the woods, and the night sky. Inside was comfortable and clean, very nicely decorated. We didn't have great luck fishing, but the lake was fun for paddling and gazing across at saddleback mountain. A loon family was on the lake. We enjoyed nearby hiking, smalls falls, and the town center.
Wonderful gem in gorgeous region
We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The house is cozy and nicely designed. It has everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked. The grounds are meticulous. The wraparound porch is nice and big and has views of the lake. We loved the private beach and the lake. Saddleback Lake is a beautiful small lake with just a few houses on one corner. The rest of the lake is wild and untouched. We enjoyed paddling around and exploring. The call of the loon is one of my favorite sounds in the world. The Rangeley area is gorgeous with a neat little town. We can’t wait to return. Thank you!
A Hidden Gem!
The property is absolutely beautiful. If you are a nature lover, this is the place for you. House and grounds are very well maintained. Beautiful cabin nestled among the mountains. Our family (and dogs) had a fantastic time. Kids are already asking when we can go back. Owners are super friendly, very accommodating and easy to work with. Highly recommend.
Note, Saddleback Lake is motor free - no motor boats, no snowmobiles on and around lake, But both are welcome on nearby lakes and trails. We are 10 Minutes From Saddleback Mountain! Ski to the XC trails right from our front yard. 50 minutes to Sugarloaf
