Mainsail in Corolla offers customizable vacation rentals allowing you to skip the traffic. You request check in and check out times when booking.

Mainsail is an amazing oceanside beach cottage with unobstructed, panoramic ocean views from the great room, kitchen, dining room and upper decks. Newly renovated inside and out make this light, bright and airy vacation home the perfect spot for your family to relax. Floor to ceiling windows in the great room allow for an amazing view. The decks and open air covered porch allow you to sit back and relax, you will be able to enjoy the view, watch the sun rise, pelican's flying by and maybe even see a deer or rabbit. A small elevator makes it easy to bring your supplies to the second and third levels. Walk down the paved street and in minutes you are on the private community beach access!

The cottage is in Ocean Sands Section E, which is one of the least crowded beach areas. There is a stoplight to enter Section E, which is very helpful during busy summer months, the Currituck Club golf course and Harris Teeter are right across the street.

As a courtesy some recreational items will be provided depending on availability (tennis rackets/tennis balls, corn hole, beach chairs and umbrella)

As an added security measure for both guest and propery owner exterior cameras keep entry doors safe.

As always trip insurance is recommended as this region does experience hurricane warnings and evacuations.

Top Notch Stay and Owner!

The house is a magnificent find in the area! It is within walking distance to the beach, takeout food and a grocery store. The owner is absolutely fantastic with communication and went above and beyond in making sure our stay was enjoyable. As mentioned in other reviews, there are many amenities provided (charcoal grill, beach chairs, beach toys, hammock, dishwasher, etc.) to help make the guests feel right at home. I prefer charcoal grills over gas so don't understand the other reviewer's complaint about needing to upgrade to gas when everything else about the house was so remarkable. I guess maybe in the future someone may have a problem with there not being a pool available as well even though the beach is a 1 minute walk away - 20 seconds if you run fast! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful at night. The house is very clean and well maintained. Be mindful about bringing in beach sand, but if you do there are vacuums provided. The views of the ocean are just as depicted in the photos. On one moonless night, the sky was so dark we were even able to clearly see the Milky Way. The beach area was never crowded when we went which was typically early in morning or late afternoon. We tried surf fishing but didn't come up with anything other than a couple of nibbles. I did have a 1 foot skate or ray glide by my feet one day though so be sure to do the foot shuffle when going out in the water. The only slight drawback during the trip had nothing to do with the house. During our time in the area, numerous local restaurants were still facing staff shortages so had limited days and hours of service. Hopefully everything returns to normal next spring and summer as covid rates decline and the seasonal workers return. If you are thinking of booking this place, just do it! Wanted to say thank you again to the owner for your insight and tips, we will definitely make it a point to come back to this wonderful home next year!

Enjoyed the property, had every thing we needed. Quiet neighborhood. Good beach access. Almost 20 years since we stayed in OBX, when hurricane Isabel washed the house we used to stay in out to sea. Owner/manager was very accommodating. Recommend the home and we will probably stay here again.

Relaxing location

The property is set up beautifully with natural, open land in back for unobstructed view. We enjoyed the easy walk to find plenty of food options. The house is spacious and very comfortable.
