Kauai Vacation Gem

This cozy oceanfront condo was amazing. It had everything we needed and we loved being REALLY oceanfront. We enjoyed the waves, beach, surfers, turtles, rainbows, sunsets, snorkelers, restaurant next door, views! So close to the best shops, restaurants, and beaches. Perfect hosts. We would come back!

Just as the name says…

The condo is called Surf Song and that is spot on. It is steps from the ocean with floor to ceiling windows. We kept the doors and windows open every day to enjoy the music of the sea.

Awesome Location

This unit was perfect. ~The Views are stunning. ~The Location is convenient and close to beaches etc. ~The rooms and kitchen were perfectly apportioned and had everything we needed. ~ Parking was really easy and close. ~ Check-in was smooth and easy. ~ The Owners are responsive and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again if the unit is available during our next trip dates.

Perfect getaway

Right on the beach and short walking distance to shops and restaurants. Condo was well maintained and supplied everything needed for our stay and beach activities. Loved the view off the deck. I could sit there for hours and just listen to the ocean.

Ocean paradise

This was a very peaceful place, great ocean views, close to shops and restaurants, Condo was well equipped with beach supplies making it easy to enjoy the many locations on the island. The Sheraton close by had a wonderful luau. The A/C units helped as it was above average temps, so we were very comfortable during the day. The owners responded quickly to our questions. The outdoor grill was great for cooking local seafood from Koloa Seafood Market. A very enjoyable stay and will put on list to return to this ocean paradise.

Incredible ocean views

We were only able to stay here 4 nights, but the incredible location and views made us not want to leave. Very beautiful condo, and we watched the surfers for hours! Dearly loved this home & hope we can come back! Mahalo! Julie & Bruce

Amazing Views and Hosts!

My family of four, including 2 teenage boys, had an amazing time at this condo. The host is very responsive and the condo was clean, roomy and fully stocked with all kitchen amenities and beach gear. The view from the condo is breathtaking and the location is perfect. We were even able to be front and center to a local booogie board competition! So fun! We will definitely be back! Thank you to our hosts!

Didn’t meet expectations. The location was fantastic!

The location of the condo was absolutely perfect! You really can’t beat it!That said, the condo itself didn’t quite meet my expectations. While the photos may make it look more polished, the reality was a bit different. The living room couch was worn and uncomfortable, the patio furniture wasn’t very comfortable-definitely not the cozy furniture I was hoping for. One of the bedrooms had a headboard, but every time you moved the headboard would hit the wall, which made it less-than-ideal sleep situation. I’m pretty sure I forgot to move the pillows that I placed behind the headboard. There was noticeable dust on the curtain just above my head in one of the bedrooms. A few windows don’t have screens. There areas around the front door and stove was pretty dirty, some of the shutters were broken, there were area that could use a cleaning.I would recommend this place for the location, but just be aware that it’s not as nice as the photos might suggest.

Bi-coastal family reunite for Kauai fun

First the ease of making the reservation and communicating with the owner was very good. The rental is located conveniently close to South Shore beaches and other attractions. The Condo is clean and the kitchen has a good assortment of cooking tools and some spices/ingredients to cook with. The rental fee was fair and probably a bit of a deal. It was easy to enjoy our stay here.

Overall a good stay, with a few areas that need attention

Pros:Great communication from the property manager — quick to respond and very helpful throughout the reservation and stay.Fantastic location with a beautiful ocean view right from the property.Convenient elevator access to the floor made coming and going easy.Excellent air conditioning — the two mini-split units provided true refrigerated air and kept the space comfortable throughout our stay.Comfortable beds made for restful nights.Cons:Housekeeping needs improvement — surfaces could have been cleaner, and more attention to detail would go a long way.Living area furniture is worn — one kitchen chair was held together with zip ties, and a living room chair back kept pulling out and needs repair.Washer/Dryer situation was misleading — the listing implies an in-unit washer/dryer, but it’s a shared machine on the floor, which unfortunately was out of service during our entire 7-day stay.Bedding was dated — the sheets were clean but worn, with visible bleached spots on the bottom sheet.Summary:We enjoyed our time overall — the ocean view and AC were highlights — but a few maintenance and housekeeping upgrades would make this unit truly shine.

Property was gorgeous. Perfect location. Watched surfers all day from our deck. The unit was very well equipped with beach items, kitchen had all of the items you need and more. We were steps away from a fantastic snorkeling beach. We toured the island, did some tours and ate some great food. Feels so good to travel again and Walt and Joy were very responsive and their place was excellent!

Spectacular views!!!

This condo is in an incredible location with spectacular views. The condo itself is gorgeous and very well equipped. The sounds of the crashing waves is very soothing and mesmerizing at the same time. Very little need for any TV, even after sunset. Awesome sunsets and views of sea turtles riding the waves. Easy access to everything. Absolutely loved our stay and would love to return! Hosts were instantly responsive.

Amazing location & view

Our family of four ( 12 & 13yr old daughters) had a wonderful stay at your beautiful home. The views and sounds of the crashing waves are incredible. Perfect location with the best shave ice at Riptides across the way. We loved watching the sea turtles and a great surf break out front was awesome. The condo was fully stocked with everything you would need. Beach chairs, towels, umbrella and plenty of coolers and snorkel gear. Thank you Surf Song, we will return again for sure.

Beautiful Ocean Front and close to everything!

We loved staying at this condo. The ocean views for sunrise and sunset were spectacular. We watched the surfers every morning and saw sea turtles and dolphins too. Next door is The Beach House which is a great place for food and drinks. You can walk to a very close outside shopping center that also has great restaurants and stores. There's a grocery and a pharmacy over there too. The condo is clean and has everything you need for a beach day or a dinner at home. The beds and comfortable and the space is perfect for four. The owner is quick to respond to any questions you have. I will definitely come bqck.

Complete Relaxation

We truely enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Watching turtles, surfers and listening to the crashing waves was amazing. Adding in the breathtaking sunrise and sunsets was more than we could have asked for. Opening the front door and letting the breeze come through was great during the day. The Beach House had a party one night but the noise wasn’t too bad. Wish the tent wasn’t in the view of the west window, wasn’t a game changer. Great snorkeling at Lawai and Poipu (Boss Frogs located in the same building as Beach House). Food and shopping within walking distance if needed. Plenty of cooking oil’s and spices, along with other essential’s stocked. See what’s there before purchasing a bunch of groceries. Coolers and beach umbrella provided in closet worked great. Mahalo Walt & Joy!

Return to Kauai after 20 years

The view from the balcony was magical, where we had breakfast each day and we watched the sunset at the end of the day. At 6 a.m. the surfers were starting the day. Very quiet and relaxing the entire week. The location was near retail shops and restraurants (Beach House was great last night dinner place). All kitchen utensils were there! We were so appreciative not to have to make a extra trip to the store. My last visit with a young son was over 20 years ago and now he is 29 years old with a girlfriend. We enjoyed every moment immensely. We flipped a coin for the "front room" and I won! I wanted my son to have the front room but he insisted I take it, so we tossesd a coin to be fair. Owners were very helpful and kind through the entire process. I had no prior experience with vrbo so I was dependent on the integrity of the system. After sundown, it is pitch black in some areas outside so we brought a flashlight.We left a new bottle of body wash and vegetable oil for the next guest as a courtesy since we used what was there. There were even tupperware and zip lock bags to help us with leftover storage. Opening the livingroom doors to the ocean each morning was breathtaking and so soothing. We had a little issue getting used to the unlocking and locking of the front door but my son caught on quickly. The kitchen sink turn off nozzle had a trick to getting it to stop dripping. There was a little sand left by the previous visitors but that can't be helped...Wonderful memories.

We fell in love with Kauai almost 20 years ago on our very first trip, when we visited our daughter Debi and our three delightful young grandchildren in Poipu. They had just moved into a new oceanfront home located right across a small bay from The Kuhio Shores Condominium building. We have since often spent time on Kauai, and have purchased several different condos in Poipu over the years, all of them special, but the most spectacular without a doubt is Surf Song. We are thrilled to welcome others to share it with us, and love to hear the many stories of our guests' special experiences while enjoying the rare opportunity to spend a few days in Surf Song Condo.

Surf, sunsets, and sunshine, all enjoyed in Surf Song. Guests agree that Surf Song is the "Best Location in Poipu and on Kauai" for its proximity to the surf and famous sunsets over the water. There is really no down season. Surf Song is usually booked solid throughout the year!
