About this property

Waterfront Home In Baileys Harbor ~ Fantastic Views Of The Harbor And Islands!

Vacationing by the lake is the consummate Door County experience. The waves will lull you to sleep and the ever-changing mood of the lake will become your favorite memory. Kite and sail surfers practice in our bay because of the calm conditions. All types of pleasure and fishing boats arrive and ore ships hug the shore as they pass.

The clean lines of the Empire style interior are accented by our collection of one-of-a-kind antiques from around the world. Each area has an access to the outside by way of a porch or balcony. Each room is cleverly designed to have a lake view.

The queen bedrooms are off the porch and deck on the main floor and upstairs in the whirlpool area. The standard bedrooms are off the garage and upstairs in the Carousel area. 3 bathrooms are attached to bedrooms; one in the upstairs Carousel area is not. A bunk bedroom for children has one full and four single beds plus one full bead

You are ten minutes away from thick and lively shopping traffic on the bay side. Our lake side is known as the quiet nature sanctuary of unique wild plants and animals. The beauty and calm has drawn the most talented actors and artists to this area since the early 1900's. We have been sharing this house for the last twenty-five years.

Children are delighted to play in the sand at the shallow water's edge, walk to Anclaim Beach Park, ride the wild carousel rabbit, play the unique folk toys, or other games and antique bicycles. The collection of five hundred DVDs can be viewed as the family prepares for bed. Ask for directions to The Farm where even older children like to purchase food for the hungry baby barnyard animals.

We had a wonderful time at the Spanglers place. Ray was there to greet us as we arrived and gave a little tour and history of the home. We were a group of 9 women celebrating our 75th birthday and had plenty of room. Large dining room table was games central! The patio outside the main sunroom was our favorite morning place for beautiful sunrises and coffee. The many antiques kept us fascinated, truly a fun place. You can’t go wrong with this large place with plenty of room for all.

The listing led us to believe we could access the water from the property. It read “ On the beach,A rare beachfront property in the area - enjoy direct access to the sand and sea.” This was not the case. This property is very dated and in need of some TLC, but was priced accordingly. Location was great (except lack of beach/water access).

Since the little girl Kenya down the street drown by running into the lake without her parents noticing that she was gone most parents prefer an entrance two houses South of us that they control.

It is very nice house with a fully stocked kitchen. We have been going to door county at least once every year for 35 years. This is our first stay on the lake side. We had 10 people in our party and we all had good time. We still prefer the bay side for shops and restaurants. The only negative we had was that the picture of the back yard show that we are right on the lake. Unfortunately, their is no lake access. That was a little disappointing for the kids.

We are glad you enjoyed yourselves. Thanks for telling us about the partially clogged sink. I used power foam on all oof the sink drains. We want the building to five-star ready for the next group. Our other building Mary’s Beach House is booked solid but if you want a comparable change for next year.

Property was big enough for our family of 16. The view of the lake was extraordinary. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and spices. Check in was easy with no problems. Location was a very walkable location. Location was quite and peaceful during the night. The cleaning crew could have paid a little more attention to details. Some of the equipment needed to be repaired or replaced. Little details like the propane tanks being empty, ice maker not working should be addressed.Overall we had a great experience and would recommend this property. Thanks

I always have a list of improvements and repairs but it is not like home. Sharing with others doesn't mean hanging around, painting and hammering. I often feel some shame but an intervel of time fixes that. I am 82 but I hope to do this until I stumble around with a spotted shirt at 100.

This is the most unique and interesting vacation rental I've ever seen! A truly fully stocked kitchen, expansive DVD collection, and lots of space for relaxing and socializing. We took advantage of the spacious lakefront yard and fire pit. The decor was a hit amongst our party! And the location is ideal for walking to shops, restaurants, and the nearby beach and park.

Fantastic views and location!

The location is great. Can walk all over. Views are stunning. The biggest issue was the cleanliness of the home. It really needs a deep clean and some updating.

We are disputing this review. We had one more hour of cleaning when the group arrived early. They took control of the house and began decorating it for the bride's arrival. 1/3 of the cleaning couldn't be completed and a few beds were not made by us. This happens often but to ask for a refund on the cleaning after asking for a discount because they didn't use all the rooms has never happened in 56 years of renting out our homes.

As retired teachers, parents and grand parents, we value family get to togethers at a reasonable price.

Why they chose this property

It is large enough for family reunions and on the water. We just did reconstruction on the balconies overlooking the harbor, removed the green carpeting upstairs and put in a hardwood floor and a bunk bed room instead of the second kitchen(2018).

What makes this property unique

The view of the water from three decks and an all weather porch. The town has the vibe of a friendly New England village with a fishing marina.
