Ok stay, good location, basics lacking
Good location, good stay for three people but lacking basics like toilet paper, dishwashing tablets. Not enough towels for all and sheets and blankets were very dirty. Overall not clean and old furniture.
Great place to stay
We had a fabulous time. The apartment is really homely with all the domestic items you need washing machine, dishwasher, hoover, iron and board and air conditioning in the bedroom and living room. Owner Clara and her husband Chris are delightful to deal with and dealt with a couple of issues we has quickly. We were on our honeymoon and Clara arraned for red roses to be waiting for us when we arrived which was a really kind gesture. Would highly recommend this apartment.

For the moment the pool of the golf club is off, hoping it will not last
For breakfast, I recommend a hot drink, a natural orange juice and a pastei de nata (Portuguese pastry). It's excellent ...
The restaurant D JOAO, 500 meters from the apartment, serves local cuisine for not very expensive, the boss speaks excellent French and is very friendly.
The specialty of dourado Grill is the grilled chicken that you can order in or take away.

The ruins of the Roman villas that have been excavated here show that there was a very prosperous population. It was the Moors who gave it the name "Albur" which derives its present name. The original village was destroyed in the great earthquake of 1755, but was rebuilt and Alvor has become a very popular holiday destination.
The Church of Alvor
The Mother Church of Alvor is one of the most beautiful churches in the Algarve, also known as the Mother Church of Alvor. The church has three naves supported by pillars that fai-were part of the original 16th century church. The beautifully carved altar is made of wood and decorative panels varnished tiles lining the church walls.
