You will access the house through the coded front door. This means that check in can be more flexible, as you don't need to arrange a specific time for a key exchange. If you would like us to meet you at the house for check in, that can be arranged as well.

Amazing home!! Steps from the university and in a Norman Rockwell setting. Everything about this home and communication with Tom was easy. We hope to stay here again with our adult family.

Nice clean and well appointed property - also AC worked well and it was cool
This house was very clean and well appointed. Also, the air conditioner worked well and kept the house nice and cool while it was very warm outside. The information in the listing about parking is misleading - it says there is a spot out back in the alley, which isn't true as the owner also rents the space about the garage in the alley as a VRBO and makes the spot out back that renters space. So you are left with street parking using parking permits since it's in the university district and on Tue you can't park on the street at all due to street cleaning, or you'll be towed. When I raised with the owner that I wasn't getting what I paid for and the listing was misleading, he copped a bit of an attitude and told me I could stay at a hotel and pay $30/night for parking! Also, the door code that was provided by the VRBO notification email at check-in (and it's also in the VRBO listing once you get to check-in day) was wrong and we couldn't get in when we arrived. Fortunately the manager responded pretty quickly to our message and gave us the correct number - but what if we'd arrived at midnight.... Anyway, these two things were annoying given the amount we paid, but otherwise the house was clean, comfortable and cool in the Montana summer!

Hi Mark,
Thanks so much for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I followed up with VRBO and the code that was sent to you was for a different listing and was a technical error on their part. I’m glad you were able to get in successfully. I have my phone on 24 hours a day, especially on check in days so if midnight arrivals happen I am able answer questions and assist in check in.
The street cleaning only happens once a year. Unfortunately it happened during your stay this year. We do allow guests to park in the back spot if there aren’t guests checked in the back house. I apologize if this was misleading to you. There are two parking passes available to park on the street right in front of the house. I believe you misunderstood my comment about parking at a hotel. You referred to the amount of money you paid for the stay and complained to me daily about the parking situation. I was simply comparing the $500 a night hotel stays downtown that also charge $30 for parking to the amazing university area house you were staying at. I was not copping an attitude with you in any way. Hopefully you enjoyed you stay in beautiful Missoula and you come back again soon!
We were searching for a place that would accommodate dogs while still being convenient to enjoy all the things Missoula has to offer. This rental surpassed our expectations! The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and dishes which made cooking easy. The house is within walking distance to town for coffee, dinner, or a drink. The neighborhood was quiet and offered multiple sidewalks to walk our dogs or to just explore. The bedroom and bathroom upstairs offer a little seclusion if you are looking to rent a place with other couples or family members. I would caution you on the stairs going upstairs as they are a little steep. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the Missoula area. Thank you!
We love The Viking House. Have stayed there before. Great location, 3 houses down from a fantastic Liquid Planet coffee shop. Has such character ... warm, friendly, roomy and functional. And great location in Missoula on the older downtown side. We'll be going back!
The University District is our favorite place to stay in Missoula - walking distance to the river, downtown and hiking trails. Very pedestrian and cyclist friendly.
The house is a 40s craftsman, well renovated and comfortable, with all the necessities. A fenced yard makes it ideal for travel with your dog.
The entire rental process was very easy.
We would definitely stay here again.
