Originally a historical Dupont Barn, this property underwent a complete renovation in 2022, transforming it into a stunning home. With its conversion dating back to 1981, the residence exudes absolute beauty. Nestled on two picturesque acres in Greenville, DE, it offers proximity to various country clubs, golf courses, Winterthur, Longwood Gardens, excellent dining establishments, bars, Wilmington, and is just a 30-minute drive from Philadelphia.

The owner lives and works on-site in a separate apartment. The main residence, available for rent, spans approximately 5,000 square feet and features its own entrance for utmost privacy and tranquility. The carport is reserved for the owner's vehicle, while the rental enjoys full access to the driveway. Furthermore, the spacious two-acre yard is shared among all.

Excellent experience

Absolutely beautiful house.; equipped with more things than needed. Host was very easy to reach and very sweet . Very spacious, beautifully decorated house. We really enjoyed our stay. Convenient location. Will recommend this place to anyone. Only one suggestion to put florescent tape on steps on entering the house so noone falls and gets injured.

Highly festive holiday rental

This property and house is wonderfully equipped and lovely in a beautiful part of rural Delaware outside Wilmington. There are very few rentals of this quality. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, very responsive and helpful. The house was highly decorated for Christmas with multiple decorated trees, life sized nutcrackers, many large elves and Santa’s scattered around, and a animatronic, life sized Grinch (in a bedroom totally decorated around this theme). The house has an open floor plan with lots of space, and a gorgeous primary bedroom. The only note of caution would be that the holiday decorations might have been at risk with small children, luckily not the case in our situation but something to mention to the owner if you bring small children here. We would definitely book again at this lovely accommodation

Perfect

5 girlfriends on a trip to Delaware to visit Winterthur and Longwood Gardens. This house was perfect. Clean, well appointed, and beautiful. Also incredibly close to everything we had planned. The neighborhood was safe and the owner was so nice and communicative. It really was a great experience all around!

My hobbies include golf, pickleball, listening to live music and traveling. I love the hospitality industry, my family and I owned a hotel on the Oceanfront in Virginia Beach. We sold that about 9 years ago and now I am a host for my beautiful home.

Why they chose this property

My home is located in the heart of Greenville, DE. I absolutely love this area, definitely the most beautiful area in all of Delaware!! The street is quiet, and you feel almost as if you are in the country however your close to everything! The city of Wilmington is just 10 minutes by car. There are several country clubs, golf courses, restaurants, shopping and Philadelphia is just 30 minutes from here. So, the location is absolutely perfect!

What makes this property unique

My home is extremely unique. This property was built in 1918 by Eugene Dupont. What is now a house was originally a barn for his Thoroughbred horses. The barn was converted to a home in 1981. I purchased the property in 2016 and completely remodeled the entire place. I kept the barn theme and used reclaimed wood, barn doors, barn lighting etc. The home is extremely spacious, and the open concept really makes it very cozy for large gatherings. I can tell you there is no other home that looks anything like this. The interior is absolutely stunning!
