***Please Read Entire Description Before Booking*** The Pine Treehouse Glamping Cabin is an off-grid cabin that overlooks beautiful Dragonfly Lake. It is located on a secluded and private 20 acres in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. This cozy cabin has a queen bed and two twin beds in the loft. This Glamping site is perfect for families who like to camp in comfort without the hassle of camping. The Pine Treehouse Glamping Cabin is set up on a hill with a nice deck for relaxing or eating or just taking in a birds-eye view of Dragonfly Lake! This cozy nest lets you enjoy the sounds and views of nature but still have the comfort of home. This is a nature lovers paradise... enjoy watching ducks, geese, blue heron, egrets, hawks, varieties of turtles, large mouth bass, catfish, bluegill, deer and many more animals.
There is a grill and fire pit for cooking dinner or roasting smore's, plenty of space inside for relaxing and a camp style bathroom with toilet and sink inside, and a peaceful and private outdoor heated shower.
The linens are all provided for you.
There is also a BBQ grill with side burner just off the deck that you may use. There is a micro-fridge and Kcup coffee maker. The only thing you need to bring is food and drink!
The tent cabin is GREEN! Well it’s really tan colored but it’s green because it runs off solar power. For this reason, we as that you leave all your power tools and space heaters at home. Please remember to turn off lights and other devices that are not in use.
During your stay you are welcome to enjoy the lake, we have kayaks, paddle boards and a paddle-boat tied to the floating dock. You are welcome to use them all, weather permitting, just please return them to their proper place and in the same condition you found them in. The lake is deep so please make sure to keep any non-swimmers safe with the use of flotation devices. If you plan to fish you are welcome to bring your own fishing gear. The lake is stocked with bluegill, large-mouth bass, and catfish but it is nature so you may find other species that we don’t know about!
Other things you will probably want to pack for your stay include:
Sturdy shoes for walking to your cabin and exploring the trails.
Flashlights/Headlamps for navigating outside after dark
Jacket/long pants (it can get chilly in the evenings)
We also provide additional seasonal paid experiences for your enjoyment and will communicate those to you after booking.
We also provide firewood so you don't have to worry about packing it!!!
Frequent questions and answers:
*Can you drive up and park by the cabin - No, The cabin is a short 200 ft hike from the parking area
*How do you get your things to the cabin - Pack light... there is a hand cart to transport things up and down the hill... we also are willing to help haul your things with our UTV as long as you schedule it a few days ahead and give us an arrival window of time.
*Is there other cabins on the property - The Beaver Lodge is located 500ft over and down the hill... we have made every effort in layout and design of the property to maximize seclusion and privacy and the vast majority of our guest appreciate and are respectful of it.
*Are there shared common areas and things - The lake is private and shared by the guest of the cabins... boats and life jackets are shared and are to be returned to the main dock area at the dam... each cabin has there own private fire ring and area.
*Can we swim in the lake - We have made no accommodations for swimming... it is a muddy bottom lake... Many people have swam in it... like all outdoor activities, they are at your own risk and should have adult supervision when appropriate.
*Is there TV, WIFI and phone service - There is no TV... there is Starlink Internet and minimal cell phone service... There is a cell phone booster to provide basic cell service and you can use wifi calling on your phone... we encourage unplugging and actually talking and engaging with each other.
*Is there hot water in the shower - Yes
*Are there weeds and plant life in the lake - Yes, it is a natural body of water not a treated urban drainage ditch... we have at times had issues with vegetation and algae but we have made great strides to keep the lake clear and as natural as we can.
*Can I bring my own space heater or fan - No... the cabin is off grid and has limited power consumption... we provide fans and a space heater (seasonally)... if you have a CPAP or other medical device, please let us know so we can make power accommodations for you.
