Private vintage, touch of chabby chic, and antique hideaway fronted by a unique rock garden and fountain, allows you to listen as the water flows out of the vintage well pump, splashes down and over the rocks, and trickles into the small pond at the bottom. The Bird's Nest is tucked just off Hwy 42 W, sharing the community growth of Garner and Clayton, bedroom communities just outside of Raleigh, NC. A few modern touches to make your visit comfortable. Anxious to know what draws you to our great area! Great colleges and collegiate activities and events saturate Johnston and surrounding counties. Experience our Raleigh Farmer's Market, concerts, theatre, local community events, antique shops, malls, outlets, lakes, rivers, parks, restaurants, breweries, and the list goes on and on. Regardless of your draw to our area, let us pamper you a little. Block it all out, find your happy place at the Bird's Nest. Take a trip back in time with some old albums and a radio. No TV, but internet is available.

Guests have full private access to entire 360 square feet of vintage, touch of chabby chic, antique decor, and portable toilet and sink sectioned off with an elegant curtain for privacy. Just a few feet from your barn door, you will experience a private outdoor shower with instant hot water for those looking for a unique adventure. For those with a less adventuresome nature, a full guest restroom and shower in the main house on the same property and nearby.

My property is a small piece of rural heaven, over 2 acres of great trees, yard, woods, and a creek running along the backside of property. Though not in a subdivision, I do have neighbors. Thankfully, our properties are far enough apart to provide each of us privacy. Rural yet close to everything you need.

About the host

Host profile image
Retired from corporate after 33 year in the electric utility industry. Co-Own an elderly/disabled companion care and cleaning business in FL. Airbnb/Hip Camp/VRBO Host for multiple properties in NC and VA. I have 3 girls aged 29, 26, and 7.

Why they chose this property

"The Bird's Nest" started as a "She-Shed", a rehabbed shed brought to life with vintage and antique decor and other added touches being added along the way. The "She-Shed" easily transformed into The Bird's Nest when my FL business required more of my time and travel.

What makes this property unique

Serenity, rest, relaxation, a getaway from the day to day stresses. A few modern conveniences like tv, running water, CDs, Blue-Ray and cable have been purposely avoided. Instead, a few unique features were purposely added like a portable toilet and sink, an outdoor shower and record albums. Adventure awaits those looking for something out of the ordinary.
