How to get there: By plane, the closest airport is Heathrow. Either take the Heathrow Express to Paddington station and take a taxi, the journey will take 20 minutes or take the tube (Piccadilly line) to South Kensington station, which is then a 5 minute taxi ride or a 10 minute walk.
Another alternative is Gatwick airport. The Gatwick Express brings you directly to Victoria station, the taxi ride to Nell Gwynn House will take 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can go on the tube at Victoria, take the district or circle line to South Kensington or Sloane Square, the taxi ride will be 5 minutes long or a 10 minute walk.
By tube, Nell Gwynn House is equal distance between Sloane Square Tube (Circle & District line) and South Kensington Tube (Circle & District line and Piccadilly line). The most cost-effective way of using London Transport is by using a contactless debit/credit card.
From Sloane Square tube, walk straight down the Kings Road with Peter Jones department store on your right. Cross the road and after 5 minutes you will see Andersen Street on your right. Head down Andersen Street, this becomes Sloane Avenue. Continue down Sloane Avenue and you will see Nell Gwynn House on the right hand side of the road. This will take between 5 and 10 minutes depending on your speed of walking.
From South Kensington tube, come out of the station and turn left onto Pelham Street. Keep walking, continuing over the pedestrian crossings into Sloane Avenue. Nell Gwynn House is on the left side of the road. This will take between 5 minutes depending on your speed of walking.
By train, take the Eurostar at St Pancras International station, the taxi ride will take 20 minutes to the property.
Enjoy strolling through the neighbourhood to nearby Museum Row - home to the Natural History Museum, fabulous decorative arts collections at the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Science Museum and more. You'll be just moments from Fulham Road, famous for antique and home design shops, as well as trendy London shopping at Brompton Cross. Walk to King's Road in Chelsea, Harrods famous department store in Knightsbridge and the beautiful Kensington Gardens. Just a few minutes walk away is the South Kensington Tube station, so you can easily reach all the top spots in central London on the Underground or on London's classic red double-decker buses.
South Kensington: It is hard to define notional boundaries for South Kensington, but a common definition is the commercial area around the tube station and the adjacent garden squares and streets (such as Thurloe Square, opposite the Victoria and Albert Museum). The smaller neighbourhood around Gloucester Road tube station can also be considered part of South Kensington, as well as the Albertopolis around Exhibition Road, which includes the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and Baden-Powell House. Other institutions such as the Royal Albert Hall, Imperial College London, the Royal Geographical Society, the Royal College of Art, the Royal College of Music are within the borough of Westminster, but considered to be in the district. Although the postcode SW7 mainly covers South Kensington, some parts of Knightsbridge also fall under this postcode.
Neighbouring the equally affluent centres of Knightsbridge, Chelsea, and Kensington proper, South Kensington covers some of the most exclusive real estate in the world. It is home to large numbers of French expatriates (mainly employed in the financial City centre), but also Spanish, Italian, American, and Middle-Eastern citizens. A significant French presence is evidenced by the location of the consulate, French High School - a large French secondary school opposite the Natural History Museum - and the French Institute, home to a French cinema. There are also several French bookshops and many cafes in the area. why this property

Very good

We loved the location of the property and the staff working there were very friendly. There was a light issue when we checked in, but the staff was helpful and held our bags.
We used the fold out bed and while it wasn't the best, we really couldn't complain because we loved the location so much. Plenty to do in the neighborhood and very easy to get around. We always felt safe and it had all the amenities we needed. They even called when we left something behind!
Overall the stay was good. The location was excellent. There were restaurants and stores within walking distance and a Starbucks across the street. The unit was smaller than expected and we only had one towel per person for the entire stay. There was a washer but no detergent available, nor did I expect to have to do laundry so I wasn’t prepared for that. The owner should consider providing more towels for guests.
We were very pleasantly surprised that this rental was actually nicer than the pictures describing
Beautiful - fantastic area. Safe and comfortable and close to all main attractions!!

Liked: Check-in, location
...
J'ai trouvé que le prix de la location était chère, comparé à celui d'un hôtel comme ibis par exemple, qui a le buffet au petit déjeuner

Thank you for your comments. I do not agree with you. Your unfair comments relate to a facility we do not provide.
We do not advertise breakfast as this is an apartment with kitchen facilities.
As far as the prices are concerned, 34 square meter ( which is double the size of a hotel room ( IBIS is 15 sq meters) is at par with apartments in Paris. There is no problem with hygiene and service as you did not mention.
Kensington area is an affluent area and the apartment is very centrally located. Prices also reflect that.
I have had 4 and 5 stars reviews before you so I find your comments totally unfair to say the list.

The property manager was very responsive and helpful from the time of booking. There was a little confusion checking in as to whether the front desk or letting office had our key, but they resolved this pretty quickly after the two parties talked it out (it was the letting office). The staff had the apartment ready even though we arrived a few hours earlier than the published check-in time. Even though you can’t count on that, the front desk is willing to store your bags for a few hours before check-in or after check-out. They can also call cabs which came quite quickly. The apartment description was accurate, but the pictures made it seem a little bigger than it actually is (it’s literally one room with a small kitchen, table with two chairs, small tv stand, fold out couch and double bed with two small end tables and an attached, reasonably-sized bathroom). The two table-top oscillating fans were much appreciated since it was unseasonably hot when we visited. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. With the windows open, there was a fair amount of loud talking that could be heard until after midnight both nights we stayed. The housekeepers were prompt, and the front desk staff was extremely responsive and generous with their services. The property is about equidistant from Sloane Square Station and South Kensington Station for the tube (about a 10 minute walk). Sloan Square is slightly closer, but South Kensington is more direct walk. There are a few quick bites (including a Starbucks) across the street (along with an urban grocery), and there’s a nice string of pubs and restaurants close to South Kensington Station. Overall, we were very pleased with this property and would recommend it to a single, couple, or family of no more than four who are comfortable being in close quarters looking to stay in the Chelsea area.
We enjoyed this place. It was a smaller space than we expected...with four suitcases it was hard to maneuver around the apartment when all four of us were there. Check in process was a little confusing as the front desk did not know where our key was. After we figured that all out it was a great place to stay!

Thank you for your comments. In fact you did not stay in the apartment booked originally as the guest before you broke the toilet and it had to be repaired. So we relocated you in another apartment in the building so that you did not have the inconvenience of a cancelled accommodation and became unhappy.
I am sorry the alternative apartment was not to your liking. It as a last minute decision and we tried to avoid any desperate situation

Nice flat, great location!
This was a great location for a quick trip to London with my daughter and her boyfriend. We were within walking distance to lots of great attractions and close to tube and train stations. Our room was a little dated and had a space heater for heat vs. central radiator. Also, the glass doors between the bedroom and living space got stuck the 1st day we were there and no one ever came to fix them during our stay. Otherwise, lovely place and perfect location! Would definitely recommend.

Ehhh...it was fine.
The positive: The location was great. The space was suitable for two adults and two children. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful.
The Negative: The linens were stained. The smoking odor was very intense, and very nauseating. The carpet needs a thorough cleaning.
Overall: you get what you pay for. I have stayed in far worse accommodations. This was fine, I would likely opt for somewhere else next time though.

Many thanks for your feedback regarding your stay in this apartment which was part of Nell Gwynn House Apartments. We value all comments from our guests as it helps us to understand where we need to improve our services. The apartment you stayed in was not the actual apartment booked as 1 day before we had a problem with bathroom plumbing. It was hot/cold water adjustment in the shower did not work which would have caused you an awful problems taking a shower. In the last moment I rehoused you in the same building in a similar apartment so that no inconvenience could have been caused. I am sorry about the problems you had. ( You never contacted me whilst your stay maybe I could have remedied the situation) Our apartments always get high reviews therefore I hope you will stay with me again in the future. ( in the original apartment of course)

Wonderful place to stay!
We were delighted with our choice of staying here. It's a great location with easy access to 2 tube stations, grocery store, shopping and local restaurants. The staff was enjoyable and attentive to all of our needs. It was a wonderful home away from home.

Cute studio in a great location
Very nice little studio in a great neighborhood, easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, transportation and sights. Clean and in a nice building. Not recommended for tall people as it is quite small with only a double bed. The kitchen was good for making coffee and breakfast and was equipped to make a light bite as well.

Great location, comfortable apartment
Nell Gwynn House is easily walkable to a range of tourist sites in London, as well as restaurants and shops, and very convenient for bus and underground services. The staff were helpful and responsive to our questions. The apartment had everything needed for a comfortable stay - we particularly liked having the bath after a long day walking around the sites! The wifi was also good, slowish but reliable. The in-room clothes washer/dryer was also appreciated, as was the hairdryer.
The studio apartment was ideal for a couple, but would be cramped if the sofa bed was being used. The bed is a standard double, which may be small for some.
One set of bathroom amenities was provided for our 8 night stay, but no dishwashing liquid. While one change of bedding/towels is provided each week, we’d suggest that this occur halfway through your stay (eg: day 4 of an 8 night stay), instead of after 7 days - it seemed odd to get everything changed the morning before we left. But these are minor points, overall we’d definitely recommend Nell Gwynn House.

Great Location
We had a nice stay at the Nell Gwynn House. Our studio was clean and comfortable. The entire property is clean and well maintained. Housekeeping tidied up our flat each morning which was an added plus. Having the kitchen helped us minimize eating out. The staff were both friendly and responsive....We had some minor issues that were addressed quickly. The building is a short walk to both the South Kennsington and Sloane Square undergrounds. The 360 bus stop is a minute away. Our studio faced Sloane Avenue which was a little noisy (nothing like Manhattan), but we adjusted quickly. Shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. We plan to stay here again.

Was perfect for our trip!!
We ended our 2 week trip through Europe at this London flat. The washer/dryer was a incredible bonus as we were running thin on clean clothes. Our 8 and 12 year old slept comfortably on the pull out couch. There is a grocery store close by and is open late! With only about a 7 minute walk to the South Kensington tube station we could get anywhere in London. The flat was very quiet and has staff at the front desk 24 hours a day. We would definitely stay here again!
