“Something Fishy” is a newly remodeled, cozy, two bedroom, one bath mobile home on a quiet Florida island, with all the comforts of home, waiting your arrival. The property is on Pine Island and the city is St. James City. January, February and March must be rented consecutively (90 nights). Two or more night are required for the remaining months.
Two outdoor areas are provided. Enjoy the beautiful view out back, on the deck overlooking the water, or relax on the covered front patio. Eight foot sliding glass doors allow for a beautiful view from the living room and from the bedroom addition. Two parking spaces are available and an area in the yard can be used to park a boat trailer if needed. A well equipped kitchen can help with your cooking needs as well as a gas grill on the deck. Great fishing awaits you in Pine Island Sound or the Gulf of Mexico for bigger catches. Direct access to these waters are right off the dock. What a backyard!!! The dock will accommodate boats up to 30 feet. If bringing a boat, it will be docked right out the back door. The dock has water, electric and lights. The dock light switches are on the first piling on the right. There is no extra fee to dock your boat, park your vehicles and/or boat trailer. The boat lift is for owners use only. Boat charters are available and golf carts can be rented to explore. Check on line for these services. If you are “working from home”, a desk, chair and high speed internet are in place to accommodate your needs.
A fish cleaning station is available for your “catches”. (The fish in the pictures were caught in Pine Island Sound). The canal is a deep water canal. Nature lovers can enjoy kayaking and bird watching with an occasional spotting of a Roseate Spoonbill. Dolphin and Manatee travel through the canal behind the property. So much fun to watch! The nearby “artsy” town of Matlacha is a fun place to stop before your arrival. Sanibel Island and Southwest Florida International Airport are less than an hour by car. For travelers bringing a boat, it can be launched at “Monroe Canal Marina”. The Marina address is 3105 Stringfellow Road, St. James City, FL. It is located about 1 mile from the property. The fee is about $15.00 to launch at the Marina. It is very easy to access the boat ramp and travel the waters to the property. It takes about 15 minutes get to the property by boat from the launch at the Marina. Groceries, medication, etc. can be purchased at Publix, Winn Dixie and CVS, located on the island. Although a bit pricey, the General Store is a mile away. Restaurants and bars are located throughout the island with most offering entertainment. There is not a mailbox on the property, however, the Post Office is a mile or so away and a PO Box can be obtained if needed for those on an extended stay.
