About this property

Nancy’s Touch, A Waterfront Paradise!

Nancy’s Touch, named after the amazing woman who developed and maintained the beautiful gardens, is situated in one of the best locations available on the northern end of the Chesapeake. From sunrise to sunset, the view of the juncture of the three rivers (the North East, Susquehanna, and Elk) that merge to create the Chesapeake Bay commands your attention. Soaring osprey, bald eagles, great blue heron and other waterfowl delight as well.

This one-acre property has been in the same family since the 1920’s, and we look forward to now sharing it with others. The one-story home features:
• large “river room” with an amazing view, sitting and informal dining area
• great room featuring a large congenial living space with TV
• formal dining area
• fully equipped kitchen
• laundry room with washer, dryer and pantry located off the kitchen
• large master bedroom with a queen size bed
• two additional bedrooms; one with a queen and one with twin beds
• all bedrooms have water views
• two baths
• game room complete with a pinball machine, foosball table, and baseball game
• outdoor deck, patio seating, and covered deck near waterfront
• lush lawn and garden areas directly accessible from the river room
• well behaved, mature dogs allowed for a nightly fee (Absolute limit is two dogs, and a full description will be required prior to approval); a large, fully fenced yard is available to them directly from the laundry room
• two single kayaks, two stand up paddle boards and life preservers
• recommend bringing water shoes, as the beach is rocky
• main entrance of home is wheelchair accessible; remainder of home is not ADA

This was our third stay and we lucked out with beautiful weather. We were outside the whole time we stayed. We invited our good friends who stayed for a night and they loved the place too. Our dog Moe also loves the fenced yard and our strolls around the beautiful garden. Thanks for sharing your home!

This was our second stay at Nancy’s Touch. It’s a beautiful setting, right on the northern reaches of the Bay. You will notice speedboats of course, especially on weekends, but they are usually far off shore and quiet. You will also notice many shorebirds, geese, and osprey. One osprey landed on top of the whale weathervane you see in the picture on this site! The kitchen is well-stocked, and the propane grill was easy to use - and we used it quite a bit. There are restaurants in town, but on our second trip we decided to cook our own dinners, family style.

Homey and inviting with an amazing view

Perfect place to relax!

Nancy’s Touch is one of our favorite places to stay. The home is always pristine, the grounds are lovely, and the home is so well stocked with kitchen and laundry supplies that packing for the trip is a breeze. There is so much to explore in the area, and birdwatching from the enclosed sunroom is always a treat. We have already booked our next stay here.

August Getaway

We had another wonderful stay during our third visit to this lovely property. We took our teenage niece and nephew this time, and had fun playing games, paddle boarding and crabbing. As always, the dogs loved swimming every day and playing in their own private, fenced yard. We completed our visit with a takeout seafood dinner from Woody’s. We can’t wait to come back again next year!

Lovely Place for R&R

This trip was our second visit to this amazing property. The location is peaceful and relaxing, with the sound of the waves and numerous species of birds. We had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful with a beautiful yard and view of the water.

It was a great experience. Out two labs loved swimming even in the cooler water and we enjoyed the ever changing view from the River room. Will definitely plan another trip. The owners were very responsive to our emails and answered all the questions we had.

Perfect place to relax

Nancy’s Touch is such a pleasant place to relax that we try to return at least once a year. The home is lovely and always fully equipped with all amenities. The location is gorgeous, with spacious and beautifully landscaped grounds overlooking the North East River. We always bring our dog, and are grateful for the large fenced-in side yard for him to run and play.

Heavenly Location

We love this property and are already looking forward to our next stay in September. Betsy & Barbara are wonderful to work with and to allow others to stay in their beautiful home. A lovely and memorable home

We reunited here as a family after several months apart because of COVID. It was a wonderful place to be together again. The views were stunning, and kayaking/paddle boarding on the Bay was more than we could have hoped for. We took advantage of the amply yard to set up a croquet course! The house was also well-stocked, with most every kitchen appliance you could dream of.

Peaceful and relaxing

We had a great time at this beautiful property. The surrounding garden is lovely, the large fenced yard area was perfect for our dog to play some rousing games of fetch, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet relaxing by the river. The home itself is very comfortable with great water views--we didn't leave the property at all during our vacation. We loved watching the wide variety of birds (there's two pairs of binoculars provided) and even saw a few catching fish in the river. We hope to be able to return in future.

What a wonderful retreat into serenity.

Nancy's Touch is simply wonderful. You feel like you've walked into a friend's home with your first steps. All of the personal touches are thoughful. It is kept super clean and the linens and towels provided are soft and plush. I can't say enough about our long weekend there. It took us a while to realize we hadn't heard a car drive by in 4 days! We will absolutely be back.

This property is beyond expectations in every way. The incredible location...is a piece of heaven. So quiet and peaceful. The gardens are beautiful and the home couldn’t be more lovely and warm. Home base for nearby wedding

My wife and I rented Nancy’s Touch as our lodging for our son’s wedding at the nearby Bohemian Overlook venue. The house, grounds and location were wonderful and exceeded what we expected even with the great reviews. This house is very specious and comfortable with outstanding attention to detail. The location and 180 view of the bay is spectacular. We watched a bald eagle family in the trees right beside the home fish every morning and saw osprey and many birds. The house is a short distance from North East and shopping and restaurants. We have rented many homes through VRBO and Nancy’s Touch is at the top.

We are two sisters (Betsy and Barbara) whose family has owned this property since the 1920's. As a result we spent weekends and summers here throughout our childhoods, and love the memories we have of growing up there. When my parents retired they built the home you will be staying in. The house may have changed, but the magic of the place for us never has.

Why they chose this property

Our mother (Nancy) expressed the specific desire that we keep the property in the family, that we name it Nancy's Touch, and make it into a business that would allow others to enjoy the beauty of the property. Her touch is indeed throughout: from the beautiful gardens, to her artwork, to the antiques she and our dad collected over the years.
The special benefit of the plan is that we and our families can also continue to enjoy it at various times throughout the year, hopefully for many generations to come!

What makes this property unique

The home and property are the epitome of peace and quiet, with unequaled views - enough that many of you may not even feel motivated enough to explore the easily accessed town of North East with its charming shops and wonderful restaurants. If you do venture out you will find elsewhere on this site a long list of sights and activities within about an hour's drive.
