Kathie was great with communication leading up to our visit and upon arrival! Highly recommend this place. A/C in the bedrooms was wonderful on hot nights! A great cabin right on the lake! Beautiful sunrises too!
Great getaway for my family! Kathie was very helpful and reponded quickly with any of our questions. Wolf lake and the cottage gave us a relaxing week. The cottage was perfect for our family of 5! Between catching bass, floating on the sand bar, and bonfires every night, we are grateful we were able to stay for a week.
The property was great the lake was awesome great place for the 4th they light fireworks for 3 days only problem was we had 1 hot day and no AC in the house just small ones in the bedrooms but still was an amazing stay the rest of the days were nice and cool. We will be staying again.
The house was perfect for our needs. Property was peaceful and amazing views. Owner was very nice and very easy to communicate with. Lots of nice days trips as location was near lots of other things to do. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your kinds words Jane. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back again!
The house was just what we needed for our riding trip. We got the best of both worlds with close trails and the lake right out front. Everything was clean and well taken care of and the owners were very nice and responsive to any questions.

Such a great place to take the family and unwind! Beautiful view! No distractions! We love the lake and the fact that this lake house comes with kayaks and lots of outdoor activities. This was our second summer staying here and look forward to returning again.

I thought I responded to this a couple weeks ago but apparently did not!! We are so happy you joined us again this summer and look forward to welcoming you back to the lake. Thank you!
This was the 5th year we stayed at the sunrise retreat and as always loved every minute of it! Kathie and Bob are the best hosts and I feel like family when staying there. This year was a little different as we had our 10 month old daughter, and she absolutely loved playing in the wolf! Can’t wait for next year!
This house was clean and beautiful with an open concept. The lake was amazing with warm waters and a sandy swim area. The fishing was pretty good with lots of bluegill and largemouth bass. Communication with Kathie was great and she always responded promptly. My family loved the week we stayed on Wolf Lake. Be sure to visit Jones Ice Cream.
Great lakefront location, make sure to read all amenities as this location is off grid. Lake is very shallow with lots of seaweed, good for fishing but not swimming… at least not for me.

We appreciate your feedback. We hope you enjoyed your stay. Our choice not to have internet or cable has as much to do with lack of reliable service in the area as us choosing not to as when we are there we use the time to disconnect.
The lake has its challenges as it is an inland Northern Michigan lake. Warm, dry weather or cool rainy weather will impact the lake. We work in the spring to clean as much as we can and keep the small beach to allow easy access if desired. I agree - not ideal for swimming. It is ideal, in my opinion, for floating!!
Thank you for staying.
This was our 4th year staying at sunrise retreat and as always it was exactly what we were looking for. Kathie and Bob are great hosts. Wolf lake will forever be in our family and being able to stay at a place that feels like home is a great feeling. We fished every night to have a fish fry on Friday and of course got ice cream at Jones’ as much as possible!! Can’t wait to be back next year!

We enjoy hosting your family and look forward to welcoming you back again in 2024!
This house was great. We had so much fun on the kayaks and paddle boat. The kids loved the sand and beach. We brought a boat (there is a public launch), but you can catch 18" bass right off the dock. Kathie was very responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for families, or anyone looking for a good fishing lake.

Sleeping arrangements a little misleading.
No bunk beds. We were expecting 2 bed rooms with queen beds a loft with 2 twin beds to make a king, and bunk beds.

I apologize for any confusion regarding the bedding. As the listing indicates we accommodate 8. The loft has 2 twins that can be combined to a king. There is an outdated photo that shows a bunk bed in the upstairs bedroom. The bed was removed earlier this year and the listing adjusted. We did add a trundle with a mattress underneath the queen for those that had counted on the additional bed. My email of 7/27 also outlined the bedding.
Based on your comments I will remove the picture of the bunk to avoid any future issues.
Thank you for choosing our cottage for your vacation.
We enjoyed our time boating, fishing, floating, and swimming. It was nice being able to be up on the deck and watching the kids play in the water. With the house in a large no wake zone the kids were able to venture far out and feel safe. There were plenty of toys and games for us when we weren't in the water. A minor drawback was a lack of an outside hose, it just took a little extra effort to keep the sand out. We were extremely fortunate to have a bald eagle on top of the house for some good close ups.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the feedback. The lack of an outside hose was definitely an oversite during building. We will see if down the road we can add a faucet outside. And thank you for sharing the picture of the eagle. I hope we get so lucky next time we are able to be there.
This is a nice family friendly and clean up north lake front Chalet with out the usual rustic décor. The Chalet is located on the West side of the lake in the no wake zone. It provided a beautiful and peaceful sunrise every morning and a safe shallow area for the kids and adults to enjoy the provided kayaks and paddle boat. We brought a paddle board and small fishing boat and beached them right in front of the home. ""FISHING""" everyone caught fish, lots of fish, I caught over a dozen 16 " bass (largest 23") fishing on and off over our 4 days. I also witnessed a 3 ft. pike with an lure stuck in his lip swimming around the lake while paddle boarding. (maybe next time big guy) overall this was just what we were looking for, a tidy home on the lake to spend 4 nights together as a 3 generation family.
* Deck is well used after one splinter shoes were worn by all.

Thank you for your comments. It was a pleasure hosting your family. The deck was on the list for replacement this year however the shut down made several of our intended projects difficult. We assure you the deck is a priority for 2021! We hope to have you back to enjoy the new one.
