The property was wonderful. The beds are absolutely the most comfortable ever, as was the sofa. Very quiet and peaceful. Just what we were looking for.
Libby is a perfect host. The place is beautiful and just a mile from Clarksdale and its treasures - great music, the friendliest folks on the planet and the finest keepers of America’s blues history. A trip to Clarksdale is a spiritual balm for the soul.

Check in was very easy. The place was very gross. It smells like mold and mildew. Everything was wet feeling. The towels and blankets were all damp. There was so much moisture in the unit. The floors were so uneven I’m shocked no one has fallen and hurt themself. The sheets were rough and very well used. The king bed sinks in the middle. The twin beds had hair in the sheets. The bamboo ceilings are falling on the beds. This is the absolute grossest place I have ever stayed.

I am so sorry you had a bad experience at the cottage . I am a bit puzzled as the next two renters that stayed the day after you and the next week all gave me 5 star reviews. I do know that is was a very rainy time when you stayed but there is a dehumidifier by the front door and an air filter by the king bed .Both just require pushing an “on” button. The Mississippi Delta can be a very humid place but nothing was wet although if you did not turn on the a/c split, the dehumidifier or the air filter is might have felt humid in the cottage. There is an a/c split in the cottage and although it is not central air is usually does a pretty good job of taking humility out of the air especially with the separate dehumidifier and the air filter. You mentioned that the sheets were worn. 90% of the king sheets we use are Peacock Alley Sheets and Sferra Brothers Italian luxury sheets. These are very high end luxury sheet brands but Perhaps an older sheet got put on the bed in error and I certainly apologize if that was the case .
I usually get rave reviews about how comfortable the bed is and no one has mentioned that it’s sinking in the center but I will definitely check that out. Perhaps a slat fell down ( but no one else has mentioned that problem or anything about the ceiling. As I said I was a bit puzzled by your review. I wish you had texted or called me with your concerns and I could have come over and adjusted things .
I realized that when you called last minute about having 3 more guests than were on your reservation that Vrbo could not add the cost to your reservation last minute and that you neglected to take the other payment arrangements that I had offered . . Again I wish you had contacted me about this issue too. I hope you will try us again in the future. I have 3 other properties right next door to the cottage and I could have shifted you to another property which perhaps might have suited you better .
Very nice! In a nice area that seems to mostly be one family. Felt very safe and didn’t haven’t to worry about making sure everything was locked up. If it’s available on the next trip I’ll try and book again
My daughter & I absolutely loved the decor & cozy feel of the Sunflower Cottage! She had it stocked with gourmet coffees, spices, cream, sugar! It’s on the river and very close to downtown too! The front porch takes you back in time! Libby provided lots of info. Music venues, restaurants, shopping etc. She responded quickly if needed. I’ll definitely be back!!

Helpful Owner, Issues with Location
We were unable to get into the property we had rented as the electronic door lock had dead batteries. After contacting the owner, she moved us into the location next door. When we got to the new location, the key lockbox was left hanging open, the door looked as though the deadbolt had been broken through the door frame at some point, the toilet seat was broken and there was blood (as if from someone else being on their period while being there and not cleaning it up) on the toilet and bathroom which I cleaned up myself so that we could use it. The dishware was dirty and there was a bowl of sugar with a spoon in it on the counter, used and unclean. Some of the towels in the bathroom had a bad odor to them. We left the place cleaner than we found it, but I refuse to clean up the mess we did not create. And I refuse to take a 4 star review from Libby after doing more than what I should have had to do in order to stat at this location.
