The home and neighborhood were lovely. Hi piss was nicely laid out to allow plenty of privacy for colleagues to share this space. Grounds were beautiful as well.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope you will have a chance to visit again.
We had an excellent stay here in this beautiful home. The owner had top notch communication with us throughout the stay, and included little extras that made the stay even more special. We truly enjoyed learning about the history of the home, with the information they had there. This home is perfect for staying in a wonderfully renovated home with all the amenities!
This property is a very spacious home away from home. There are many extras so you don’t have to worry about packing spices or some of the little things. Love the historical info and learning about its past and rebuild! Ruth is an awesome host!
The history with this house and area is so fun to learn about with each visit. House so spacious to host some of my sons Lacrosse team from Chowan. This trip had Easter Brunch and egg hunt for 20-21 yr olds outside. They loved it! So did us parents! GREAT LOCATION AND HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD NEED!
The house was adorable and lived up to its reputation as a historic experience. Ruth was an excellent host with just the right balance of communication with an almost concierge-esque touch to her style. She even left us an Easter basket! Thanks Ruth......
Just 4 ladies that lived together for 4 years of college returning 20 years later to see that not a whole lot has changed, but we enjoyed every minute of it!
This historic house was so comfortable- roomy and had plenty of furniture. It was great to be in the historic district as we walked quite a bit. Restaurants are close and we so enjoyed the porches. The kitchen had everything imaginable and a gift basket was left for us. So enjoyable with 3 nice bedrooms!
We enjoyed staying at this historic place . All of the modern upgrades you need are here . Great for couples and Ruth is very hospitable & helpful with any questions you may have . We'll be back .
Ruth Akright is lovely. She is at once informative, helpful and unobtrusive. The home is historic, very comfortable and well-stocked. The layout gives everyone privacy and space. The pictures don't capture the high ceilings, around 11 feet. The backyard, back porch and grilling equipment provided an extra bonus. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
Ruth's place is an older home restored. Check in was excellent and Ruth quickly responds to questions. However, a little too dated and old for my family. No fault of Ruth's.
The Murfrees-Williams House was a lovely place to stay. It was equal parts historical, charming, and comfortable, and a great base of operations for our trip to explore northeastern NC. The house is in a cute historical district, with easy walking access to restaurants, and it's a short drive to the grocery store as well. The house was neat, and our hosts did the little things to make us feel welcome and enjoy our stay. Our only complaint was that we saw a couple roaches in the house, which hopefully the host will be able to take care of.
The house is one of the historical houses in the states. There is nothing much to do in the neighborhood but if you drive some distance you can go to outer banks and Virginia Beach. Overall it’s quiet and calm place for a weekend getaway.
Lovely country house. Great for relaxing from hustle and bustle of city life. House is spacious, there were 7 of us and we didn't have to keep bumping into each other. Nice location too because it is by Main Street where stores are located. Communication with the hostess, Ruth was easy. She responded quickly to our questions/requests.

Why they chose this property
Many years ago, we were looking for a distressed historic property to restore and bring back to life. We fell in love with Murfreesboro and its historic preservation efforts. This house is an important architectural and historic element of the district and one of the few on its original site.
What makes this property unique
The house was built by William Hardy Murfree, the grandson of the founding father of Murfreesboro. It retains much of its historic fabric dating from the early 1800s as well as a significant remodel done in 1850. After many long years of rehab, it is again a shining example of historic preservation.
