A lovely traditional Charentaise house in Burie, 5 minutes walk to shops, 15 minutes drive to Cognac with its restaurants and distillery tours, 20 minutes drive to the Roman town of Saintes, and 45 minutes drive to large sandy beaches in Royan.

The house is newly-refurbished, very spacious, with comfortable brand new beds and mattresses, and with a large tranquil garden. It is perfect for family holidays, activity holidays, or couples wanting to get away from it all. It has central heating, WiFi, TV, a working fireplace, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob, and microwave and two impressive fireplaces. It was formerly the village bakery and is next to a Cognac and Pineau producer with vineyard.

Excellent stay in Burie, Fantastic location. Very convenient for everything. We were with Our Grand Daughter and went to the beach 3 times in a week. Burie is Capital of The Bordeliers Cognac Grand Cru, we bought some prize winning Pineau from Neighbour. Karl was very good and easy to deal with, everything very well organized, and he always respond in minutes through contact. Highly recommend staying at The Old Bakery.--Nigel

Lovely stay at Burie.

We had a lovely time staying at Karl and Imtaz gite in Burie, Charente-Maritime. The gite was well furnished, and the bed was super comfy. There was everything you needed at the gite for a comfortable stay. The gite had a garden to relax in, and plenty of garden furniture. The gite was 10/15 minutes walk into the village where there was a Carrfour Contact and petrol station. The bonus was the gite was next to a Vineyard and you can buy pineau and wine from the owners. There are some lovely walks down the country lanes from the gite. Lots of places to visit in the area including Cognac, Saintes and Jonzac. Royan, which is on the coast, is about one hours drive away, and well worth a visit. Thank you Carl and Imtaz for an enjoyable week at your gite.

Das Objekt war sehr zentral im Ort, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten waren fußläufig zu erreichen, die Wohnung war sehr sauber, alles war wie wir es uns vorgestellt haben. Es gab einen großzügigen Garten, und die Zimmer waren sehr geräumig. Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet.

Una casa preciosa y espaciosa en un pequeño pueblo rodeado de vides con un jardín encantador. Tal vez algunos detalles deberían cuidarse más pero en conjunto es muy recomendable. Las camas son muy cómodas y el menaje bastante completo.

Séjour agréable près de Cognac, juste dommage que le village de Burie ne soit pas plus vivant (pas de boulangerie par exemple). La location est juste a coté d'un producteur d'un excellent pineau et cognac !

Lovely rustic hub for visiting so mzny interesting locations in the area.

Location spacieuse et agréable pour 6 personnes dans un lieu calme. Nous sommes venus avec un bébé et les propriétaires ont mis à notre disposition un lit parapluie et une chaise haute. Une jolie maison bien située et bien équipée pour une famille. Proche des commerces et restaurants ainsi que des parcours de randonnées . Beaucoup de sites à visiter dans les alentours. Très bonne écoute et réactivité du propriétaire lors de notre séjour ce qui est toujours appréciable. Petite suggestion pour la terrasse du jardin : un petit gazon synthétique serait un plus pour le coin repas. Nous recommandons cette propriété. Famille Urdanabia

Spacieux, charmant mais dans son jus

Maison spacieuse, agréable, avec beaucoup de charme, jardin très mignon et calme assuré ! Néanmoins manque certain de propreté. Certes cette maison est ancienne mais cela n'excuse pas les nombreuses toiles d'araignées aux fenêtres et aux plafonds présentent dès notre jour d'arrivée. Idem dans les placards! Le canapé qui est normalement facile à nettoyer (simili cuir) était tout tâché. La table à manger ainsi que les chaises étaient collantes... De plus, toute cette moquette et ces tapis sont des caches misères qui ne donnent pas confiance en la propreté et solidité du sol. A côté de cela, la maison est grande, bien équipée niveau buanderie (sèche linge), la literie est top, nous avons très bien dormis, la salle de bain était quand à elle très propre ! Et dernière petite chose, le jardin est très agréable mais on ne peut pas s'y installer confortablement pour manger (la table est minuscule même pour 3) et les bancs très inconfortables. En résumé séjour très mitigé.

My wife and I are old hands at vacation rentals in France (over 30 some years)--and this spacious village house is a favorite. It's well located --adjacent to vast vineyards, a short walk to the new Carrefour suermarket (which has a excellent butcher and good bread), and in proximity to the beautiful towns of Saintes and Cognac. The owners are most genial and helpful.

Logement plein de charme, avec vieilles pierres et joli jardin

Joli coup d'oeil en entrant. La maison est décorée avec goût, on prend vite ses marques. Karl nous avait fourni de bonnes indications et était à l'écoute. Cela correspondait parfaitement à la description et le logement était très propre. Egalement très calme. La région est superbe : balades à Saintes, Cognac ... et nous avons même fait une incursion en bord de mer à Saint-Palais. En rentrant, on pouvait se délasser au jardin et manger dehors. Légère déception avec le marché de Burie, quasi inexistant, mais il y a des commerces pour s'approvisionner. Pour la maison, seul bémol : on aurait apprécié un peu plus de vaisselle. Je recommande donc ce charmant logement dans une région toute aussi charmante.

Vacances dans la maison Old Bakery

Super séjour trop court hélas, la maison est ravissante comportant des pièces spaçieuses, agréables et un charme fou avec ses belles cheminées anciennes. Dépaysement assuré et calme absolu. Aucune mauvaise surprise, on pose les valises et on se sent comme chez soi! Le jardin est adorable, la cuisine fonctionnelle, tout y est même le lave linge et le sèche linge, la maison est propre pas de mauvaise suprise :Merci Stéphanie! Old Bakery est tout près de Cognac et de Saintes, deux maginifiques villes à visiter! Nous sommes allées dans une restaurant la Scala, sur Cognac, je vous le conseille le décor vaut le détour... Merci à Karl qui est adorable, d'une gentillesse extrême et qui veille à ce que notre séjour se passe bien. N'hésitez pas, si vous voulez décompresser, vous promener, visiter, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés. Nous on reviendra ça c'est certain! Je vous souhaite de passer un aussi bon séjour que nous!
